Hadith.5302 - Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said that if an extra (supernumerary) finger is cut off, then one-third of the blood money (diyyah) of a normal finger is applicable.

9. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates that Amirul Momineen (a.s.) said, “There is no man that hands over himself to another man to play with him as he wishes but that Allah develops female sexuality in him.”

two people disputed about an animal in front of the commander of the faithful عليه السلام and both were able to produce evidence [witnesses] that they foaled it, so he ruled in favour of the one in whose hands it was [possessed it already], and he said: if it was not in his possession I would have divided it equally between them.

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said to me: O Ḥusain! Allāh will register one good deed for those who leave their houses to go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) on foot and erase one bad deed from them with every step they take. When they arrive at the Ḥā`ir, Allāh will register them as those who have achieved salvation and as the successful ones. After they complete the rituals (of the Ziyārah), Allāh will register them as the winners. When they decide to return, an angel will come to them and say, “Verily the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) sends his Salām to you and tells you that all of your previous sins have been forgiven. Therefore, continue with good deeds.”

“Ja‘far, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that his father (a.s.), has said, ‘A third Adhan on Friday is a heretical invention.’”

The right of an ill traveler upon his travel companions is to stay with him for three days. ”

“There is no determinism and thee is no relinquishment. Rather, the decree is between the two.” The reporter says: I asked, “What is the decree between the two?” He (AS) replied, “The example of that is of a man who was about to commit a sin. You saw him, and you told him not to do it. However, he did not stop. Then you left him, and he committed the sin. You abandoned him to his sin because he did not heed your warning. This does not mean that you encouraged him to sin.”

God’s Prophet (MGB) said, “The color black is detestable except for three things: for the turban, the slippers and the garment.”

“I was in the presence of abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) that a man said to him, “May Allah grant you well being, you have mentioned that Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) would wear harsh garments. He would buy a shirt worth four Dirhams only and so on. However, we see that you have new garments.” The Imam (a.s.) said, “Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) would do so at a time when people would dislike it. Wearing such garments to day would have defamed him. The best garment for a given time is the garment that people of that time would use. However, when our Al-Qa’im will rise with Divine Authority, he will wear the kind of garment that Ali (a.s.) did and he will live just as Ali (a.s.) lived.”

Whenever the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny stood to address, he would praise Allah and thank Him. Then he would say: "Know you all, that the most veracious and truthful statement is the Book of Allah (i.e. the Qu’ran) and the best guidance is that of Muhammad. The worst things are those which are invented concoctions, and every such innovation is misleading." Then he would raise his voice, with his cheeks gradually turning red and remind people of the Day of Reckoning and its dawn, in the manner one warns of an advancing army of the enemy. He would say: "It dawns with you every morning and is with you every evening!" Then he would say: "I have been sent to you with the Day of Reckoning like these two (then he would join his two forefingers). Whoever leaves behind him wealth, that will go to its heirs and whoever leaves behind a debt, it is my responsibility."

The Messenger of Allah (s) passed by a people who were lifting a boulder competitively. He said: What is this? They said: Through this, we will know who is strongest among us. So, he (s) said: Shall I not inform you of who is strongest among you? They said: Of course, O Messenger of Allah. He said: The strongest among you is him who, when he becomes pleased, does not sin and transgress; and when he becomes discontented, does not allow his disconnectedness to lead him to say other than the truth; and when he comes to power, does not deal in that which he has no right in.

"Whoever mentions the name of Allah over food will never be asked about the blessing of that food."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Once we were sitting and my father was with the governor of banu ‘Umayyah over the people of al-Madinah. My father came back and sat down and said, “I was in the court of this (governor) a little while ago and people asked about Taqsir (reducing Salah (prayer) on a journey after traveling a certain distance). Someone said that it is at three. Another one said that it is after traveling one day and one night. Yet another said that it is one rawhah. He (the Governor) then asked me and I said, ‘When Jibril came with Taqsir (reducing Salah (prayer) on a journey after traveling a certain distance) to the Messenger of Allah, the Holy prophet asked him, “At what distance is this?” He (Jibril) said, “It is at one barid.” He (the Messenger of Allah) asked, “What is that?” Jibril replied, “It is between the shadow of ‘Ayr (a certain mountain) to the shadow of 0‘Ayr.”’ He (the Imam) said that time passed, then it was seen that banu ‘Umayyah had placed marks on the road and mentioned what Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), had spoken of. They placed signs on the shadow of ‘Ayr and the outline of 0‘Ayr. They then divided it into twelve miles and it was three thousand and five hundred yards for each mile. They had placed signs on them. When banu Hashim appeared they changed the affairs of banu ‘Umayyah in a certain way because Hadith is from banu Hashim, thus they placed a sign next to each sign.’” (the Arabic word for yard is Dhira‘ (from the elbow to the tip of the fingers which is about eighteen inches)).

to a man: O such-a-person, what is it with you and your brother? He said: May I be sacrificed for you, there was something to me upon him (to fulfil), so I inquired about my right. Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, then said: Inform me about the saying of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He: «and they fear a bad (result from the) reckoning» (13:21). Do you see that they feared that He will tyrannize against them or wrong them? No, however, they feared inquiry and detailing (in questioning).

The following four characteristics are from the traditions of the Messengers: perfumes, women , brushing and putting on Henna. ”

The Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, passed by a people who were raising a stone, and he said: What is this? They said: By that, we know the most severe among us and most strong among us. Then he, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, said: Shall I not inform you of the most severe among you and the most strong among you? They said: Sure, O Messenger of Allah. He said: The most severe among you and the most strong among you is the one whom if he is pleased, his satisfaction does not make him enter a wrongdoing, nor falsehood, and if he is angered, his anger does not make him leave the saying of truth, and if he is able, he does not deal with that which he has no right to.

"Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "A woman touching her daughter in an inappropriate manner once she has reached six years of age is a form of indecency (a branch of fornication)."

Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) disliked that a man should feed others as expiation for an oath before breaking it.

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Sad ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, from Muhammad ibn Ismail ibn Bazi and Muhammad ibn Yahya Al-Khazzaz, from Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim.

And whatever is narrated from Jafar bin Al-Qasim, I have narrated it from my father and from Muhammad bin Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Sad bin Abdullah, and from Muhammad bin Yahya, and from Ahmad bin Idris, all from Ahmad bin Abi Abdullah, from his father, from Jafar bin Al-Qasim.
