Kāmil al-Ziyarat
This book discusses the concept of ziyārat (visiting holy shrines or places) and was written by Ibn Qulawayh (d. 367 AH), an eminent Shī‘ah narrator. He was a student of Shaykh Kulaynī and a teacher of Shaykh al-Mufīd. Kāmil al-Ziyārat is an important hadith reference for the Shia. It has a total of 843 hadith in 108 chapters.
The book explains the rewards and the manner of visiting [the graves of] the Prophet (s), the Ahl al-Bayt (a), offspring of Imams, and the faithful. It contains authentic traditions regarding the legitimacy of visiting the graves of the Prophet (s), Imams (a), and the faithful and answers questions raised by the opponents of ziyārat. It is said to be the most complete and comprehensive book on ziyārat.
A large majority of the book focuses on Sayyid al-Shuhadā (a), and the rewards and manner of visiting his grave. The author also speaks about issues such as the prediction of Imam al-Husayn’s (a) martyrdom, knowledge of the angels about it and mourning of all of creation for him.
