“I saw him (the twelfth Imam) after the death of abu Muhammad (a.s.) when he had reached adolescence. I kissed his hand and head.”

“A man’s perfection lies in six characteristics: two minor ones, two major ones, and two influential ones. And the two minor ones lie in his heart and tongue in that he fights with his heart, and he expresses his words with his tongue. And the two major ones lie in his intellect and determination. And the two influential ones lie in his wealth and beauty.”

The perfection of man is in six traits: with his two small things, his two big things and his two guises. As for his two small things, they are his heart and tongue; if he fights, he fights with pneuma, and if he speaks, he speaks with a tongue. As for his two big things, they are his intellect and enthusiasm. As for his two guises, they are his property and beauty.

I said, ‘May I be your ransom! I swear by God that this was my nickname when I attended school in my childhood.’ The Imam (a.s.) just smiled at me.”

I advise you to eat raisins since that will cure biliousness; alleviate the phlegm; strengthen your nerves; relieve your fatigue; improve your temper; purify yourself; and fend off your grief.”

Messenger of Allah (SA) said: “None of you believe unless he also believes in the Divine Decree, its good, its evil, its sweetness, and its bitterness.”

God’s Prophet (s) said, “Indeed the Honorable the Exalted God has destined the destiny and plotted the plans two-thousand years before the Creation of Adam.”

The Messenger of Allah (SA) said: “Verily, Allah, the Mighty and High, had decreed and planned everything two thousand years before He created Adam (AS).”

the Messenger of Allah (sw) said: “The reward for one upon whom Allah the Great and Almighty has blessed with monotheism is nothing but paradise.”

A person who has the following characteristics has perfect chivalry and justice: one who doesn’t oppress the people in his dealings with them; one who doesn’t lie when he talks to the people; one who doesn’t act opposite to what he promises. It is incumbent to act like a brother with him; support his justness; respect his manliness; and not gossip about him.”

Abu Abdillah peace be upon him, said: "Be it known to you that Allah hates a person who is unsteady and fickle. Never slip away from the truth and its partisans. Whoever, rules and oppresses with the aid of untruth, and his people shall perish, and shall lose (all that he may have gained from) this world, and leave the world low and humbled."

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said to me, “O ‘Imrān! Everything has a place in the heart. However, nothing can fill the place I have in my heart for these two sons.” I said, “O Messenger of Allāh! (You love them) this much?” The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) replied, “That which is hidden from you (the extent of my love) is even greater than this. Verily Allāh has ordered me to love them.”

“O my children! Avoid animosity with the people, since they can be divided into two groups. Some of them are intelligent ones who would deceive you and some of them are ignorant ones who would rush to retaliate. What one says is like a male, while what is said in response is like a female. Once they mingle together there would be an inevitable outcome.” The Imam (MGB) then recited the following poem:

a man invited Ali ibn AbiTalib (s) to his house. The Imam (s) accepted upon the fulfillment of three conditions. The man said, ‘O Commander of the Faithful! What are they?’ The Imam (s) said, ‘They are that you bring nothing for me from the outside; that you do not deny me of anything that is in the house; and that you do not burden your wife on my behalf.’ The man said, ‘Fine.’ Ali ibn Abi Talib (s) accepted his invitation.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: I am the City of Wisdom – and that is Paradise – and you, `Ali, are its Gate. So, how can a guided one be guided to Paradise without being guided to it by its Gate?

Any Muslim who is ready to memorize the Quran deserves to receive two-hundred Dinars from the Muslims’ treasury every year. If this is withheld from him in this world, he will receive it on the Resurrection Day when it will even be more beneficial for him.”

a man invited Ali ibn Abi Talib (MGB) to his house. The Imam (MGB) accepted with three conditions. The man said, “O Commander of the Faithful! What are they?” The Imam (MGB) said, “That you bring nothing for me from outside of the house; that you do not deny me of anything that is in the house; and that you do not burden your wife on my behalf.” The man said, “Fine.” Ali ibn Abi Talib (MGB) accepted his invitation.

Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ibrahim wrote to Imam (as) in the year 233 AH, asking about a man who passed away and left behind a wife, sons, and daughters. He had also left them a servant (ghulam) whom he had endowed for them for ten years, after which the servant would become free. He asked: "Is it permissible for these heirs to sell this servant if they are in need, given the situation I described to you? May Allah (swt) make me your ransom." Imam (as) wrote in reply: "They should not sell him until the appointed time of his condition (the ten years) unless they are in severe need. In that case, it is permissible for them to sell him."

Shu`ba informed us. He said: Al-Hakam narrated to us. He said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla say: I met Ka`b b. `Ajra, so he said: Shall I not gift something to you? Surely, the Messenger of Allah (sw) came to us, so we said: O Messenger of Allah! You have taught us how to send peace (salaam) to you, but how do we send blessings to you? He said: Say: “O Allah! Bless Muhammad, just as you blessed Ibrahim. Surely, You are Majestic and Glorious. Send benedictions upon the Family of Muhammad, just as You sent benedictions upon the Family of Ibrahim. Surely, You are Majestic and Glorious.
(Allahumma salli `ala Muhammad kama sallayta `ala Ibrahim, innaka hamidun majid. Wa barik `ala aali Muhammad kama barakta `ala aali Ibrahim, innaka hamidun majid)”
