“Showing that one loves people is one half (the power) of reason.”

“I once heard abu al-Hassan (a.s.), saying, ‘Eating egg often increases the number of one’s children.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Three things are of the signs of a believer: His knowledge of Allah, who to love and who to hate.’”

“Abu al-Hassan, Musa (a.s.), has said, ‘Utensils of gold and silver are of the assets of those who do not have certainty (in the laws of Allah).”’

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not testify for a case unless you know it as you know your palm.’”

“When you go to bed, remember what you ate during the day that was bad, and what you have done during the day, and remember your resurrection.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘How disgraceful to a believer is a desire that humiliates him!”’

“I heard abu al-Hassan, Musa (a.s.), say, ‘Easing off in spending is half of one’s sustenance, and with observance of moderation, one does not become poor.’”

And whatever is narrated from Muhammad ibn Hassan, I have narrated it from my father, and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan, and from Al-Husayn ibn Ahmad ibn Idris - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Ahmad ibn Idris, from Muhammad ibn Hassan.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One who takes a sinful oath can wait only for forty nights (before being struck by misfortune).”’

“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘Taking a bath one day and the day after does not increase flesh. Continuously taking a bath every day melts the fat of the kidneys.’”

“Once abu ‘Alqamah, al-Harith ibn al-Mughirah, abu Hassan and I were with abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), and ‘Alqamah had applied hair dye with henna, al-Harith had applied hair dye with woad and abu Hassan would not apply hair dye. Every man pointing to his beard asked him (the Imam), ‘What do you say about it (hair dye), may Allah grant you kindness ? 5 Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), said, ‘It is very good . 5 They asked, ‘Did abu Ja’far (a.s.), apply hair dye ? 5 He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, when he married al-Thaqafiyah, her slave-girls applied hair dye to his hairs. 5 ”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not drink water excessively, it is the substance of every illness.’”

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) say, ‘Whoever is friendly in his affairs achieves what he wants from people.’”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Abd Al-Rahman ibn Kathir Al-Hashimi has been transmitted by me from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan Al-Saffar, from Ali ibn Hassan Al-Wasiti, from his uncle Abd Al-Rahman ibn Kathir Al-Hashimi.

I asked Imam Riďā (a.s.) about going to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Abil Ḥasan (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)). Imam (a.s.) replied, “Establish prayers in the mosques around the grave.”

And whatever is narrated from Yahya Al-Azraq, I have narrated it from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashim, from his father, from Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr, from Aban ibn Uthman, from Yahya ibn Hassan Al-Azraq.

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ali ibn Atiyyah has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) have mercy on him - from Sad ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, from Ali ibn Hassan, from Ali ibn Atiyyah Al-Asam Al-Hannat Al-Kufi.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Take from your soul for your soul. Take from it in good health before illness, during its strength before weakness and in its lifetime before death.”’

“I once heard abu al-Hassan (a.s.), saying, ‘Meat grows meat, but if one sends a morsel of shahm (fat) inside it expels the same amount of illness out.’”
