عبد الله بن القاسم الحضرمي

15. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “Surely four thousand angels having their hair covered in mud and in distressed state will mourn at the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.) till the Day of Judgment. The name of their leader is Mansur. He welcomes the person who comes for Ziyarat. These angels won’t separate from that person. If he falls ill they will treat him, if he dies they attend his funeral prayer and repent for him after his death.”

“I heard Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) say, ‘Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (a.s.) had maternal nephews in tribe of descendant of Makhzum and a young man from them came to him (Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (a.s.) and said, “Uncle, my brother has died and I am very sad because of his death.” The narrator has said that he asked him, “Do you want to see him?” He said, “Yes, I want to see him.” He said, “show me his grave.” The narrator has said that he (Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (a.s.) came out with him with the gown of the Messenger of Allah on him and when he reached the grave he moved his lips and knocked his grave with his foot and he came of his grave speaking in Persian language. Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (a.s.) asked, “Did you not die as a Arab man?” He said, "Yes, but we died on the tradition of so and so son of so and so then our language changed.”

“Once abu Ja‘far al-Mansur ordered his governor of Makka and Madina, al-Hassan ibn al-Zayd, to set fire to the house of Ja‘far ibn Muhammad (a.s.) to burn him to death. The house of abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) was set on fire and it burned the door and the corridor. Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) came out walking in the fire and stepping on it and would say, ‘I am the son of ’A‘raq al-Thara (’Isma‘il), I am the son of Ibrahim, (Abraham) the beloved friend of Allah.”

“Solomon inherited David. Muhammad (s.a.) inherited Solomon and we inherited Muhammad (s.a.). We have the knowledge of Torah and the Gospel (Injil), the Psalms, (al-Zabur) and the explanation of what the tablets contained.” I (the narrator) said, “This certainly is the knowledge.” The Imams (a.s.) said, “This is not knowledge. Knowledge is what happens day after day and hour after hour.”

abu Ja‘far (a.s.) has said the following. “When al-Qa’im (the one who will rise to establish the kingdom of Allah on earth) will rise in Makka and about to leave for Kufa a caller will up on him, “No one of you carry any food and water with you. No one carry the rock of Moses ibn ‘Imran. It a full load for a camel. Wherever you will disembark there will be a water fountain. Whoever will be hungry it will satisfy him and whoever will be thirsty it quench his thirst. It will be their supplies until they will arrive in Najaf behind al-Kufa.”

“Whoever of the Imams that would not know what would happen to him and to what events he would proceed such a person is not a possessor of Divine authority over His creature.”

“I Heard abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) say, ‘When Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, would love to create the Imam He would command an angel to take a drink of water from under the Throne and his father to drink it and from this He creates the Imam. for the first forty days and nights in his mothers womb he would hear anything. After that he would hear the words. When he is born that angel comes and writes between his eyes, “. .in all truth and justice, your Lord’s Word has been completed. No one can change His Words. He is All-hearing and All-knowing.” (6:115) When the preceding Imam passes away a light house made from light is prepared for him and this light house he examines the deeds of the creatures. By this means Allah establishes His authority over the creatures.”

Abu `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) said: Four thousand angels came down to fight alongside al-Husayn b. `Ali (as), but they were not permitted to fight. So, they went back to seek permission, and they came down [again], but al-Husayn (as) had been killed. So, they are at his grave, disheveled and weeping, until the Day of Resurrection. Their chief is an angel called Mansur (the victorious one).

I asked Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s), “Why is he named as Qaim?” He said: “Because he will rise after his name dies. He will establish a mighty enterprise. He will rise up by the command of Allah, the Glorified.”

Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s) about the Quranic interpretation of Jabir and he said: “Do not mention the interpretation of these verses to those with decadent thinking as they would publicize it. Have you not seen the following verse in Quran? “For when the trumpet is sounded…” (74:8) Indeed one of us Imams will be in occultation and when the Almighty Allah wants to show His matter, He will inspire the Imam and he will reappear and stage an uprising by the permission of Allah.”

The Commander of the Believers, peace be upon him, is the Loft Palace, and the Abandoned Well is Fatima and her sons, who are abandoned from rulership.

The Messenger of Allah (s) made brotherhood bonds between his companions and he left `Ali (as) out. So, he said to him: You have made brotherhood bonds between your companions, but you have left me out. So, he said: By He in whose hand is my soul! I have not left you to yourself. You are my brother, my deputy, and my inheritor. He said: What will I inherit from you, O Messenger of Allah? He said: What the prophets have inherited before me. They inherit the Book of their Lord and the tradition (sunna) of their prophet. You and your sons will be with me in my palace in Paradise.

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: There are four thousand angels by the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) who are disheveled and covered with dust. They cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. Their chief is an angel named Mansūr. These angels receive everyone who comes to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) and they accompany them when they bid farewell to Ḥusain (a.s.). They visit them if they become ill and they establish prayers on them at their funerals when they die and seek forgiveness for them after their death.

When the child of believing parents passes away, a caller warns the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth: Beware! Verily, the son of the so and so has passed away. If the child’s father, mother, or relatives have passed away, he will be given to them so that they can feed him. If the child does not have any immediate relatives who have passed away, then he is handed over to Fatimah, blessings of Allah be upon her, to feed him until his parents or relatives pass away, and then he is handed over to them.

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Four thousand angels descended (on the Day of ‘Āshūrā) to fight along with Ḥusain (a.s.) but they were not permitted to fight. Therefore, they ascended back (to the heavens) to seek permission (from Allāh). However, by the time they came back, Ḥusain (a.s.) had been killed. Therefore, they remain next to his grave, disheveled and covered with dust, and they cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. Their chief is an angel named Mansūr. These angels receive everyone who comes to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) and they accompany them when they bid farewell to Ḥusain (a.s.). They visit them if they become ill, establish prayers on them in their funerals when they die, and seek forgiveness for them after their death. All of these angels are on earth waiting for the rising of the Qā`im (a.s.).

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that when Adam (a.s.), died, Iblis and Qabil expressed joy and came together in the land. Thereafter Iblis and Qabil set up musical instruments and means of amusement to rejoice at the death of Adam (a.s.). Thus whatever is there on earth of this sort in which people take pleasure is because of that.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Four thousand angels assigned for the grave of al- Husayn, Alayhi al-Salam, are untidy and dusty. They weep for him until the Day of Judgment. Their chief is an angel called Mansur. They welcome everyone who visits him and escort everyone who says farewell to him. They visit everyone of such visitors if he becomes ill, perform funeral salat (prayer) for those of them who die, and ask forgiveness for him after his death.’”

“Amir al-Mu’minin (Ali ibn abu Talib) (a.s.) has said, ‘Religious people have certain signs by means of which they are recognized. Of such signs are truthfulness in their words, safekeeping of trust, steadfastness in their promise, maintaining good relations with relatives, kindness to weak ones, smaller degree of expectation from women, [or he said, yield to them in smaller degrees], excellence in moral behavior, vastness of moral discipline, following knowledge and that which leads closer to Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, with distinction. Tuba’ is for them and the good ending. ‘Tuba’ is a tree in paradise that has its roots in the house of the Holy Prophet, Muhammad (a.s.). ‘Which quality is more graceful for a man?’ The Imam said. There will be no believer with a home without a branch of that tree. No desire will emerge in their heart but that the branch will provide. A horseman may run under its shadow for a hundred years and the shadow will not end. A crow (with the longest life span in birds) may fly from its trunk upward but before reaching the top of the tree will drop death due to old age. Therefore, you must develop an interest in this. Believers are busy with themselves and people are comfortable with them. When the night grows dark they fix their faces on earth in prostration before Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, with the noblest parts of their body. They whisper to the the One Who has created them, about setting free of their necks from fire and as such you must also become.’”

the Messenger of Allah has said the following. “Whoever would like to live as I have lived and die as will do and enter the garden that my Lord has promised to me and hold in hands the stick that Allah has planted with His own hands he then must love and acknowledge (Leadership with Divine Authority of) Ali (a.s.) and his successors after him because they do not lead you into the gates of misguidance or take you out the gate of true guidance. Thus, do not try to teach them because they know more then you do. I have asked my Lord not to cause any separation between them and the Holy Quran until the time they will arrive in my presence near the al-Kawthar in paradise like this (showing his two fingers stretched side by side). The pond of al-Kawthar which is as big as from San‘a’ to ’Ayla (a place between Makka and Madina) with cups of gold and silver around it as many as the stars.

“The first time I met abu Ja’far (a.s.) he said to me, ‘Learn to speak the truth before narrating al-Hadith (statements of the Holy prophet and ‘ A’immah ).’”
