Hadith 998
۞
Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Al-Hasan b. Matil narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi’l Khattab narrated to us from Musa b. Sa`dan from `Abdullah b. al-Qasim from `Amr b. Aban al-Kalbi from Aban b. Taghlub. He said
Abu `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) said: Four thousand angels came down to fight alongside al-Husayn b. `Ali (as), but they were not permitted to fight. So, they went back to seek permission, and they came down [again], but al-Husayn (as) had been killed. So, they are at his grave, disheveled and weeping, until the Day of Resurrection. Their chief is an angel called Mansur (the victorious one).

قال أبو عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام): إن أربعة آلاف ملك هبطوا يريدون القتال مع الحسين بن علي (صلوات الله عليه) فلم يؤذن لهم في القتال، فرجعوا في الاستئذان، وهبطوا وقد قتل الحسين (عليه السلام)، فهم عند قبره شعث غير يبكونه إلى يوم القيامة، ورئيسهم ملك يقال له منصور (2).
