The truly sincere believers are three: Ali ibn Abi Talib (MGB), Habib - the carpenter , and the believer from the family of Pharaoh (Hizkil ).”

There are three reasons why the people worship the Exalted the Honorable God. Some worship God in order to receive a reward. Such form of worship is that of greedy people. Some worship God out of fear ofthe Fire. Such form of worship is due to fear. I worship God since I love the Exalted the Honorable God. Such form of worship is that of noble ones. There is security in it as stated by the Honorable the Exalted God, ‘… and they will be secure from terror that Day’ and ‘Say: If ye do love God, Follow me: God will love you and forgive you your sins: ….’ Therefore, the Exalted the Honorable God loves whomever loves God. Whoever the Honorable the Exalted God loves is amongst the secure ones.”

How dare you pick at the bread to see if it is well-baked or not? I swear by God that the water under the Throne has been used in their baking. The angels have worked to make that water reach the winds. The wind has moved it to the clouds. The clouds have worked to send it to the Earth. Thunder and lightning have also been instrumental in this. Also the angels have worked to spread it over the right places on the Earth. The Earth has also worked on it. Wood, iron, animals, fire, firewood, salt and many other things which I did not mention have been at work to make this bread. How can you be grateful for this bread?” Then Abu Dharr said, “I shall repent to God and ask him to forgive me for what I have said. I also apologize to you for what I did which you disliked.” It has also been narrated that Salman invited Abu Dharr to his house and brought him one loaf of dry bread and wet it with some water from his jar. Abu Dharr said, “How nice it would be if there was some salt to eat with this bread.” Then Salman got up and went out. He pawned his jar to borrow some salt and took it to Abu Dharr. Abu Dharr took some of the bread, put some salt on it, ate it and said, “All praise be to God that made us content with our share of daily bread!” Then Salman told him, “If you were content I would not have had to pawn my jar!”

“The Prophet (S) had given Ali (as) a book sealed with twelve seals and said to him: “Open the first seal and do according to it and then give it to al-Hasan (as) to open the second and to do according to it. Then al-Hasan (as) is to give it to al-Husayn (as) to open the third and to do according to it and then from one to another of the progeny of al-Husayn (as).”

“The cry (from the Heaven), the rising of as-Sufyani, the rising of al-Yamani, killing the pure innocent man and a hand appearing in the sky will be inevitable. There will be also a fright in Ramadan, which will awaken the sleepers, terrify the awake and bring the girls out of their veils.”

Word of Allah, the Mighty and High, "(Some) faces on that day shall be bright, looking to their Lord" (75:22-23) mean that “They will be illuminated, anxiously awaiting the reward from their Lord.”

I asked al-Rida (AS): “O son of the Messenger of Allah! What do you say about the tradition which people narrate from the Messenger of Allah (SA) that he said: `Verily, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, comes down from the heaven of this world every night?’” Thus, he (AS) replied, May the curse of Allah be upon those who alter words from their place! By Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, sends down an angel from heaven to this world during the third part of every night, and the first part of Friday night. Hence, He commands him, so he calls, “Is there any supplicant on whom I can bestow his wish? Is there anyone who is repenting so that I can forgive him? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness so that I may forgive him? O seekers of goodness, come! O seekers of evil, abstain!” He constantly proclaims this till dawn breaks. When dawn breaks, he return to his place in the realm of heaven. My father related to me this on the authority of my grandfather from the Messenger of Allah (SA).

I saw the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) kiss Ḥasan and Ḥusain (a.s.) and say: The fire will not touch the face of those who are sincere in their love for Ḥasan and Ḥusain (a.s.) and their progeny, even if their sins are equal to the number of (grains of) sand, unless they have committed a sin that expels them from the faith.

Allah revealed to Dawud (as): Why do I see you alone? He said: I have abandoned the people, and they have made me flee to You. He said: Why do I see you silent? He said: My awe of You has silenced me. He said: Why do I see you exhausted? He said: Loving You has exhausted me. He said: Why do I see that you are poor when I have redeemed you? He said: Fulfilling my responsibilities towards You has made me poor. He said: Why do I see you humbled? He said: The greatness of Your majesty, which cannot be described, has humbled me; and that is Your right, O Master. Allah said: So be glad for My reward, for you will have whatever you like on the Day that you will meet Me. You will receive whatever you want from Me on the Day of Resurrection. Al-Sadiq (as) said: Allah revealed to Dawud (as): O Dawud! Be happy by Me, seek pleasure by remembering [Me], and seek enjoyment by speaking to Me. Soon, I will empty the house of the transgressors, and I will place My damnation upon the oppressors.

Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: Surely, the people worship Allah for three reasons. (1) One group worship Him out of desire for His reward – that is the worship of the possessive, and it is of greed. (2) Others who worship out of fear of the Fire – that is the worship of the slaves, and it is of fright. (3) But, I worship Him out of love for Him – that is the worship of the nobles, and it is of safety, as He says, “and they will be safe from the horror of that day” (27:89), and as He says, “Say: If you love Allah, then follow me; and Allah will love you and forgive your sins.” (3:31) Whoever loves Allah, Allah will love him; and whoever Allah loves, he will be of the safe ones.

“The will had been revealed from the Heaven to the Prophet (S). It was a sealed book. No other sealed book had been revealed to the Prophet (S) except the will. Gabriel said: O Muhammad, this is your will to your family among your umma. The Prophet (S) said: “O Gabriel, which of my family?” Gabriel said: “The one, whom Allah has chosen, and his progeny. He is to inherit you with the knowledge of prophethood before Abraham.” The will had seals. Ali (as) opened the first seal and went whereto (to the better world) he had been ordered. Then al-Hasan (as) opened the second seal and went whereto he had been ordered. Then al-Husayn (as) opened the third seal and found in it: “Fight, kill and you are to be killed. Set out with some people towards martyrdom. They will not be martyred except with you.” He gave the will to Ali bin al-Husayn (as) and went. Ali bin al-Husayn (as) opened the fourth seal and found in it: “Ponder long and be silent for knowledge is veiled.” Then he gave it to Muhammad bin Ali (as), who opened the fifth seal and found in it: “Interpret the Book of Allah, confirm your father’s knowledge, bequeath knowledge to your son, humor the umma and announce the truth in fright and safety and do not fear except Allah!” He did and gave the will to the next one.” Ma’ath said: “Is it you?” Imam as-Sadiq (as) said: “O Ma’ath, you are not but to go and narrate this from me. Yes, it is me.” He mentioned twelve names and then became silent. I (Ma’ath) said: “Then who?” He said: “It is just so!”

I heard Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) mentioning al-Qa’im (as). I said: “I hope that his matter (rising) will be so easy.” He said: “It will be not so until you wipe blood and sweat together.”

“Once I said to Imam ar-Redha (as): “May Allah make you succeed! People narrate that as-Sufyani will rise after the rule of the Abbasids declines.” He said: “They tell but falseness! As-Sufyani will rise while the rule of the Abbasids is still prevailing.”

“Ali ibn Musa Al-Ridha (s) said the following regarding the Words of the Sublime God, ‘Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty) looking towards their Lord.’ This means that these faces will be shining awaiting the reward of their Lord.”

The Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said: "Verily, ‘Ali is my brother, my minister and my successor in the family, and he is the best of all who survive me, he will repay my debts and fulfil my pledges."

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: `Ammar b. Yasir is not given a choice between two things except that he chooses the more challenging of them.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Surely, I have left among you the two heavyweights: (1) the Book of Allah, and (2) my progeny, my Ahl al-Bayt. Surely, they are the two vicegerents (khalifatan) after me. They will not separate until they return to me at the Pond.

“I heard Abu Ja’far al-Baqir (as) saying: Every banner that is raised-or comes out-before the appearance of al-Qa’im (as) will be of an oppressive arrogant.”

I heard Musa b. Ja`far (as) say: My father narrated to me from his father from the Master of Worshipers `Ali b. al-Husayn from the Master of Martyrs al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as). He said: Amir al-Mu’minin `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) passed by a man who was speaking superfluously. So, he stopped by him, and then said: Surely, you are dictating a letter to your Lord through your two guardian [angels]. So, speak about what concerns you, and leave that which does not concern you.

“Once Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) was asked: Is al-Qa’im born?” He said: “No, he is not. If I live until he is born, I shall serve him as long as I live.”
