“’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), in certain parts of his speech has said, ‘The ambition of beasts is to fill their stomach, and the ambition of women is to find men.’”

“In, Ruku’ position he rests and in Sajdah (the prostration) he acts like a crow picking up grains very fast, and sits on his heels.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not lie down in a bathhouse; it melts the fat of the kidneys.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Isma‘il buried his mother in al-Hijr and built a wall of stones around it so that people may not walk on her grave.”

I asked Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) about the imams and he said: “Whoever denies one of the alive imams, has denied the dead ones.”

“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), ‘I may visit a people after late afternoon prayer while I am fasting and they offer me food, saying, “discontinue your fast.’” He (the Imam) said, ‘Accept the offer; it is better.’”

“Reading of the Holy Quran from a copy relieves suffering punishment of one’s parents even if they are unbelievers.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘There are ears and eyes. Eyes may sleep but not yet the ears. This does not invalidate Wudu’. When both eyes and ears sleep, Wudu’ becomes invalid.’”

“Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) has said, ‘If you come face to face with a beast say, ‘I seek protection with the Lord of Daniel and the well against the evil of all powerful lions.” Note: Daniel was thrown in a well with wild beasts but they did not harm him.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited marriage in the manner of Shighar which is giving away and it is done by one man’s saying to the other man, ‘Give your daughter in marriage to me so that I give my daughter in marriage to you and that there will be no mahr (dower) for anyone of them.’”

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, has joined zakat with Salah (prayer), saying, “Maintain Salah (prayer) and pay zakat.” Thus, if one does not pay zakat, he has not performed Salah (prayer).”’

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who has a certain asset which remains in his possession for one year, then he gains other assets before the passing of one year. He (the Imam) said, ‘When one year passes with the first asset, pay Zakat for both assets.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, about birds that I find in wilderness and about which is edible. He (the Imam) said, ‘All birds that flap their wings in flight are edible and all birds that keep their wings straight in flight are not edible.’ ‘What happens if they are brought to me already slaughtered?’ He (the Imam) said, ’Eat whatever has craws.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘You must not perfume shrouds and your deceased one’s except with camphor; a deceased person is like one in the state of Ihram.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Whoever needs help from Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, should first ask from Allah al-Salat (favors) for the Holy Prophet and his family, then pray and plead before Allah for help, then conclude it with asking from Allah al-Salat for the Holy Prophet and his family; Honor of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, does not allow to accept both ends of the prayer and leave out the middle; asking from Allah al-Salat for the Holy Prophet and his family is never barred from reaching His presence.’”

“Allah will not be ashamed to punish an ’Umma (nation) who has lived a religious lile under the guardianship of an unjust Imam who has said the following.would possess no authority form Allah even though such people would be virtuous and pious in their deeds. However, Allah will be ashamed to punish a people who lived a religious life under the guardianship of an Imam who is just in his dealings and possesses authority from Allah even though they would be unjust in their dealings and have committed sins.”

“Allah is not ashamed to torture a nation believing in an imam, who is not from Allah, even if it is pious and God-fearing and He is ashamed to torture a nation believing in an imam, who is from Allah, even if it is guilty and sinful.”

"Visit your dead people for they become happy due to your visit. One of you should ask for his wishes near the grave of his father and near the grave of his mother, with supplications for them [that they'll be pleased with]."

Whoever faces our Qibla (prayer direction), prays the way we pray, and eats what we slaughter is one of us and is our partner.”

‘’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, “Instruct your families to speak good words when someone among you dies. When father of Fatimah, ‘Alayha al-Salam, died, daughters of children of Hashim supported her and she said to them, ‘Ignore eulogies but you must pray (to Allah).”””
