Hadith.1918 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: "If the crescent of Rajab is confirmed, count fifty-nine days and fast on the sixtieth day."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When they breastfeed for you do not allow them to drink wine.’”

And whatever is narrated from Ahmad ibn Hilal, I have narrated it from my father and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Saʿd ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Hilal.

Hadith.1847 - Among the sayings of Amir al-Mu'minin (as) upon sighting the crescent was: "O obedient creation, tireless, swift, revolving in the orbit of decreed management, moving through the stages of measured determination. I believe in the One who brightened the darkness with you, illuminated obscurities through you, and made you a sign among the signs of His sovereignty. He subjected you to increase and decrease, rising and setting, illumination and eclipse. In all of this, you remain obedient to Him and quick to fulfill His will. Glory be to Him! How excellent is His management, and how perfect is His craftsmanship in His dominion. May Allah (swt) make you the crescent of a new month for a new matter, a crescent of security, faith, peace, and submission, a crescent free from calamities and safe from sins. O Allah (swt), make us the most rightly guided of those upon whom it rises and the purest of those who gaze upon it. Blessings of Allah (swt) be upon Muhammad, the Prophet, and his family. O Allah (swt), do for me [such-and-such] O Most Merciful of the merciful!"

Everything in this book that is narrated from Al-Abbas ibn Hilal has been transmitted by me from Al-Husayn ibn Ibrahim ibn Natanah - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from Al-Abbas ibn Hilal.

I heard Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) say: "The one who neglects Zakat after it has become obligatory upon him is like the one who withholds it after it has become due."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Leave hairs untouched for al-Hajj when you see the new moon of Dhu al-Qa’dah, and one month before performing al-‘Umrah.”’

"I wrote to Abu al-Hasan (as), stating that I was obligated to free a slave, but my slave had escaped, and I did not know where he was. Would his emancipation suffice for fulfilling my obligation?" Imam (as) wrote back: 'Yes.' "

“The imamate will be entrusted to one, who is so young and obscure.” The infallible imams (as) have confirmed that al-Qa’im (as) will be entrusted with the imamate while he is too young yet and that his mention is so obscure to the most of people. None of the other imams has been entrusted with the imamate when he is as young as al-Mahdi (aj). When they mention that he is the obscurest one among them, they refer to his disappearance and that his news will be unknown by people. The traditions about this concern are too many, true and current. Doubting this matter must be away from the minds of the believers, whom Allah has guided and lit their hearts.

I heard Abu Ibraheem Musa bin Ja’far bin Muhammad (Imam al-Kadhim) (as) saying: “Allah has created a house of light. He has made four pillars for it. Four names has been written on them; Tabarak, Subhan, al-Hamd and Allah. Then he has created four ones from those four and then four from these four then He has said: (Surely the number of months with Allah is twelve months).”

“Today no one is a feeble-minded person. Men have informed men and women have informed women.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A man who wants to go for al-Hajj must not remove any hair from his head or beard in the month of Dhu al-Qa’dah.’”

“The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, would not refuse to accept perfume and sweet (fruit).”’

I heard Al-Walid ibn Sabih say to Abu Abdullah (as): "Abu Hanifah saw the crescent moon of Dhu al-Hijjah at Qadisiyyah and attended Arafat with us." Abu Abdullah (as) replied: "This act has no prayer, this act has no prayer (i.e., it is not valid or accepted)."

I asked Abu’l-Hasan, the Last, peace be upon him, about the sincere repentance: What is it? So he, peace be upon him, wrote: That the internal is like the apparent and (even) better than that.

"Among the rulings of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was: 'There is no liability (Jubar) for injuries caused by a mine, a well, or an animal.'"

Everything in this book that is narrated from Idris ibn Hilal has been transmitted by me from Muhammad ibn Ali Majilawayh - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Muhammad ibn Yahya Al-Attar, from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-Khattab, from Muhammad ibn Sinan, from Idris ibn Hilal.

I heard Abu’l-Hasan al-Rida, peace be upon him, say: Indeed, I love for the believer to be a teller. He said: I said: And what thing is a teller? He said: An clarifier.
