عبد الله

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One who loses his right just because of not having witnesses, does not receive any reward.’” Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Musa ibn Sa‘dan from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), a similar Hadith.

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh will register those who go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) among those (who will be) in ‘Illīyyīn.

Everything in this book that is narrated from Abu Abdullah Al-Farra has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Abi Abdullah, from his father, from Muhammad ibn Abi 'Umayr, from Abu Abdullah Al-Farra.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Beware of speaking when two sexual organs meet; it may cause dumbness and muteness.’”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Prayers should be established next to the head of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.). The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh, from his father ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ḥimyari, from Abī ‘Abdillāh Al-Barqi, from Ja’far ibn Nājiyah, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

From the servant of Allāh, Amīr al-mu’minīn to ‘Abdullāh ibn Qays:

Imam al-Hasan (AS) said, ‘The one who is subservient to Allah, Allah will make everything else subservient to him.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, wills good for a family He grants them ease in their living conditions.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once sent the son of his brother for something he needed. He returned when abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), had applied lime paste. He (the Imam) said, ‘Apply lime paste.’ He said, ‘Only three days ago I had applied it.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), said, ‘Applying lime is purifying.’”

"Do not eat while you are walking unless you are compelled to do so."

Seeking knowledge is obligatory.”

I heard him say: The afraid is the one to whom fear did not leave a tongue he can speak with.

Abdullah ibn Bokir said that he went to see Imam Sadiq (a.s) along with two other persons. One of them asked Imam Sadiq (a.s) if he should attend the congregational prayers. The Imam (a.s) replied: “Go to the prayers. Attend the congregations. Visit the ill. Respect their rights.” He then said: “Do you fear that we might mislead you to corruption? I swear by God that we will never mislead you.”

“When the owner of Ain [A’] from Bani Abbas comes to the throne; that is Abdullah, then this rule will begin with a person named Abdullah and end with a person named Abdullah. He will be the key to calamities and the sword of annihilation. When his announcement will be read in the evening, that: From the slave of Allah, Abdullah, the chief of believers, to the people of Syria: You will immediately come to know that the same is being announced from the pulpit of Egypt: From the slave of Allah, Abdullah, the chief of believers, to the people of Egypt…” When this happens, it will be the time of the decline of the kingdom of Bani Abbas. When this announcement is made by Bani Abbas in the morning, in the name of Abdullah you should wait till this announcement is made in the evening, in the name of Abdur Rahman and the latter will attack Abdullah in the cruelest way.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that duration of visiting a patient is as long as a baby- camel is given the chance to suckle the mother during milking the camel or as long as it takes to milk a camel.”

And whatever is narrated from Abu Abdullah Al-Khurasani, I have narrated it from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - through Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Ibrahim ibn Hashim, from Abu Abdullah Al-Khurasani.

I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “What should I recite when I go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.)?” Imam (a.s.) replied, recite (the following): Salām to you, O Abā ‘Abdillāh. May Allāh’s blessing be upon you, O Abā ‘Abdillāh. May Allāh’s Mercy be upon you, O Abā ‘Abdillāh. May Allāh’s curse be upon those who killed you. May Allāh’s curse be upon those who participated in spilling your blood and may Allāh’s curse be upon those who heard of your killing and were pleased with it. I seek nearness to Allāh by dissociating myself from this (being pleased with the killing of Ḥusain (a.s.)).

“There were four kings on the Earth: two of the believers and two of the atheists. The two of the believers were Solomon - the son of David (MGB) and Zul-Qarnayn. The name of Zul-Qarnayn was Abdullah ibn Zahhak ibn Ma’d. The two atheists were Nimrood and Bakht ul-Nasr.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Wash your clothes because of the urine of inedible animals.’”

Abu Abdullah Al-Razi narrated to us from Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khushnam Al-Aṣbahani, from Abdullah ibn Al-Qasim.
