I asked Aba Abdullah as-Sadiq (MGB) about the Night of Power. The Imam (MGB) said, ‘Seek it on the nights of the twenty-first and the twenty-third of Ramazan.’”

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who marries a woman with the condition to come to her whenever he wants and pays her an agreed upon amount every month. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”

Abul Ḥasan (Imam Riďā (a.s.)) said: Those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Ḥusain (a.s.)) by the shores of the Euphrates (River) are like those who have gone to the Ziyārah of Allāh on top of His Throne.

“I accompanied abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), on the way to Makkah and when he completed his salat (prayer) he said, ‘O Allah, open the way for us. Make our journey and our health full of goodness.’ Whenever he climbed a higher place, he would say, ‘You possess highness and You are over all goodness.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), if a man with Zakat (that he owes) can buy clothes, al-Sawiq (prepared food), flour, melons and grapes and distribute it among the deserving people. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, he cannot pay except by dirham which Allah, most Blessed, most High, has commanded.’”

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who makes advance payment of dirhams in exchange for foodstuff and the time comes but the party sends him dirhams. He (the Imam) said, ‘He can buy foodstuff to compensate for his right. Do you see any problems in it ? 5 He (the Imam) said, ‘There must be someone else with him to work to make it happen . 555

“Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said that Jibril has said, ‘We do not enter a house in which there are pictures, or a dog, that is, pictures of human beings or a house in which statues exist.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Whoever loves to follow my nature (culture), he must follow my Sunnah; and of my Sunnah is marriage.’”

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘If humility expressed physically is more than what is in the heart, in our view it is hypocrisy.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one drinks intoxicating liquor his Salat (prayer) is withheld for forty days, and if he dies within the forty days he dies like the people of the time of ignorance, but if he repents (turns to) Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, also turns to him.’”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) knowing his rights are like those who have performed Hajj one hundred times with the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.).

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The prayers of four kinds of people are not heard and accepted and he (the Imam) said that the fourth one is he who has an asset which he lends it to someone without the presence of witness and testimony; and Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, then says, “Did I not command you to secure witness and testimony.’””

“A single prayer of Masjid-e- Kufa is equal to one thousand prayers of other mosques.”

“O Abut-Tufayl, Count twelve ones of bani Ka’b bin Lu’ay and then fighting and killing occur.”

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘If one does not take dinner one Saturday and Sunday nights consecutively, his strength will go away and will not come back until forty days later.’”

I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about a mukatab (a slave who had entered into a contract for his freedom) who purchased his freedom and left behind wealth valued at one hundred thousand dirhams, with no heir to inherit from him. Imam (as) said: "The one who is responsible for his liability (jarirah) inherits from him." I asked: "And who is responsible for his liability?" Imam (as) replied: "The one responsible for the liabilities of the Muslims."

“Then he should repeat all the prayers he has prayed behind him,”

"If one of you wishes for the Qā'im, let him wish for him in protection (for everyone), for indeed Allah sent Muḥammad (saw) as a mercy, and He will send the Qā'im as a wrath."

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who performs Salah (prayer) for a dead body alone. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, he can do so.’ I then asked, ‘Can two people perform Salah (prayer) for a dead body? He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, but one of them stands behind the other and not on his side.’”
