Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a) used to use anything he could find to clean between his teeth, except for palm leaves and reeds.'”

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Beware of these leaders who pretend to be leaders. I swear by Allah, shoes (people) have never marched behind a man, but that he destroys (them) and (he) is destroyed.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If a man marries a woman and does not tell his soul to pay her mahr (dower) it is fornication.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once said to me, ‘You must not form contracts with people suffering from crippling diseases; they are of most unjust things (they do not avoid transmitting their diseases to others).”’

This must not be tied down.’”

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “When a man enters a town he is the guest of those who live there of the people of his religion until he leaves that town.’”

Imam abu ‘Abdallah has said the following. “Allah created us and made it well. He gave us our form and formed it well. He made us His eyes among His servants and His speaking tongue in His creatures. He made us His open hands over His servants with kindness and mercy. He has made us his face through which He is approached and his door that shows the way leading to Him. He made us His treasurers in the heavens and on earth. Through us the trees give fruit and the fruits ripen and the canals flow. Through us the skies send rain and plants grow on earth. Through our worship Allah is worshipped and were we not there Allah would not have been worshipped.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When they breastfeed for you do not allow them to drink wine.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Whatever of the prey is caught in the snare which is cut off or has died is dead.’”

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Do not burn the papers, but wipe or wash them away and then you may burn them.’”

“’Abbad ibn Maymun asked (abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.)) when I was present, about the case of a man who made a vow and commitment to fast and wanted to leave for Makkah. ‘Abd Allah ibn Jundab said, ‘I heard the one who narrated from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), who was asked about a man who made a vow and commitment to fast. He became aware of his intention during his visiting abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), who said, ‘He can leave without fasting on the way and on his return arrange for Qada’ (compensatory fasting).”’

“We were with Abu Abdullah (AS), and with us was Rabi'ah al-Ra'y, and we mentioned the virtue of the Quran. So Abu Abdillah (AS) said, 'If Ibn Mas'ood does not recite according to our recitation, then he is misguided.' Rabi'ah said, 'Misguided?' He (AS) replied, 'Yes, misguided.' Then Abu Abdillah (AS) said, 'As for us, we recite according to the recitation of Ubayy.'’”

“I asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘How should one offer greeting of peace to the people of the graves?’ He said, ‘Yes, (it has an answer). Say, “(May Allah grant) peace to the dwellings of the Muslims and believing people. You have departed us and we, by the will of Allah, will join you.’””

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If I had control over the market places of the Muslims I would ban this wine, that is, al-Fuqa ’ (beer).”’

“Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, had a bottle of musk in the Masjid. When he came for Salat (prayer) he would take it and rub on himself.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who has a certain amount of asset and it is about the end of the year when he spends it just before the year is complete. Is there Zakat on him? He (the Imam) said, ‘No, he is not required to pay Zakat.’”

“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, would say, ‘Of the reasons for the Lord, the Most Blessed, the most High, to grant forgiveness is one’s serving food.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Three factors help a man enjoy good fortune: One is a cooperating wife, virtuous and kind children, and he finds his living where he lives and is present in his family every morning and evenings.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a woman who in the state of Ihram dies during her experiencing Hayd (menses). He (the Imam) said, ‘Perfumes must not be allowed to touch her even if there are women around who are not in the state of Ihram.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that it is in the book of Ali (a.s.), that if the eyes move or the leg runs or the tail moves and you can achieve such opportunity, you then must slaughter it.’”
