38. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says that a person who does the Ziyarat of Imam Husain (a.s.) once knowing his right is like one who has performed Hajj a hundred times along with the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.).

13. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says, “One who does the Ziyarat of Imam Husain (a.s.) knowing his right the Almighty Allah would grant him the reward of freeing one thousand slaves and providing help in the way of Allah by a thousand horses laden with weapons.”

Hadith.731 - Saleh ibn Al-Hakam reported that Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) was asked about praying in synagogues and churches. Imam (as) said: "Pray in them." Salih then asked: "Even if they (non-Muslims) are praying there?" Imam (as) said: "Yes. Do you not recite the Qur'an: 'Say, each acts according to their manner, but your Lord (azj) knows best who is rightly guided' (Surah Al-Isra, 17:84)? Pray facing the Qibla and leave them (to their practices)."

Everything in this book that is narrated from Salih ibn Al-Hakam has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn Abi Al-Khattab, from Ja'far ibn Bashir, from Hammad ibn 'Uthman, from Salih ibn Al-Hakam Al-Ahwal.

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) knowing his rights are like those who have performed Hajj one hundred times with the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.).

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, Tor one who visits the grave of al-Husayn (a.s.), with proper understanding of his rights, Allah writes for him the reward for setting free of one thousand persons. It is like readying one thousand horses fully harnessed to join the battle for the cause of Allah.”’

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, hates overeating.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Children of Adam must eat to keep their backs straight. When one of you eats keep one-third of your stomach for food one-third for water and one-third for breathing and never become fat like pigs to be slaughtered.’”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh will register the reward of freeing one thousand slaves for a person who goes to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) knowing his rights. He will also earn the reward of offering one thousand saddled and bridled horses in the way of Allāh. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father and Muḥammad ibn Ya’qūb (Al-Kulayni), from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muḥammad ibn Sinān, from Muḥammad ibn Sadaqah, from Sāliḥ Al-Nīli, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

“Once I asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Do the servants (of Allah) have any capability?’ The Imam said, ‘When they act an act they do have the capability that Allah has placed in them.’ I asked, ‘What is it?’ The Imam said, ‘It is a means. In a sin like adultery when one commits such sins he has the capability when he is in such an act. If he however, desists from such an act he has the capability to refrain.’ The Imam further said, ‘Before the act he does not have the capability in a small or large measure but at the time of the act or desisting, he has the capability.’ “I asked, ‘What for then are they punished?’ The Imam said, ‘It is because of complete justification and because of the means that are placed in them. Allah does not compel anyone into sins. Also He does not will, in a definite form of will, disbelief for anyone, but when one disbelieves it is in the will of Allah for him to disbelieve and it is in the will and knowledge of Allah that he will not turn into anything good.’ “I asked, ‘Has He willed disbelief for them?’ The Imam said, ‘It is not quite like that but I say that Allah knew that they would disbelieve, thus He has willed it for them because of His knowledge of it. It is not a definite will. It is a will of choice.’”

“I heard a man asking Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘A man says he loves me. How can I know if he really loves me?’ The Imam said, ‘Test your own heart. If you love him, he also loves you.’”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) knowing his rights are like those who have performed Hajj three times accompanying the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.).
