Everything in this book that is narrated from Khalid ibn Maad Al-Qalansi has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Abdullah ibn Ja'far Al-Himyari, from Muhammad ibn Abdul Jabbar, from Al-Nadr ibn Shu'ayb, from Khalid ibn Maad Al-Qalansi.

“Allah sent revelation to His prophet (s.a) in which He has said, “Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path.” (43:43) The Imam (a.s.) said, “It is just as saying, ‘You have acknowledged the Leadership with Divine Authority of Ali (a.s.) and Ali is on the right path.”

I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about a man who had intercourse with his wife before completing the Tawaf al-Nisa. Imam (as) said: "He must offer a camel (as expiation)." Then another person came and asked him about the same situation. Imam (as) said: "He must offer a cow." Then another person came and asked him. Imam (as) said: "He must offer a sheep." I said to him after they had left: "May Allah (swt) set you right, how is it that you said a camel for one, a cow for another, and a sheep for the last?" Imam (as) said: "For the wealthy, it is a camel; for one of moderate means, it is a cow; and for the poor, it is a sheep."

"She should be appraised (for her full value), and both she and her husband must work to pay off the remaining value of her price after her appraisal. Whatever state - whether freedom or servitude - applies to the woman will also apply to her children."

A man went to Ali (MGB) when he (MGB) was on the pulpit and asked, ‘O Commander of the Faithful! Will you let me say what I have heard Ammar ibn Yasir quote on the authority of God’s Prophet (MGB)?’ Then the Commander of the Faithful (MGB) said, ‘Fear God and do not ascribe to Ammar anything other than what he said.’ Ali (MGB) repeated this thrice. Then Ali (MGB) told the man, ‘Express what you heard him say.’ The man said, ‘I heard Ammar say that he had heard God’s Prophet (MGB) say, ‘I fight the polytheists with Revelations while Ali (MGB) fights them with interpretation of Revelations.’ Then the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (MGB) said, ‘Ammar spoke the truth. By the Lord of the Ka’ba this is just one of the thousand words entrusted to me.’”

“I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (as), ‘What should I do if I meet a tax paying non-Muslim and he shakes my hand?’ He replied, ‘Wipe it with soil or against a wall.’ I asked, ‘What about one who is a nasibi (someone who hates the Ahlul Bayt)?‘ He said, ‘Wash it (your hand).”’

“If one, while in Makkah, reads the Holy Quran beginning on a Friday and completes reading the next Friday or within less or more time ending on Friday the reward for it will be written like the reward for a reading commencing from the first ever Friday in the world to the last Friday that there will ever be. The same will be the reward for reading in other days.”

A man came to the Prophet (s) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Are all who say “there is no god but Allah” believers? He said: Enmity towards us follows the Jews and the Christians. Surely, you will not enter Paradise until you love me. He who alleges that he loves me while hating this one – meaning `Ali (as) – has lied.

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Establishing one prayer in the Mosque of Kūfah is equal to establishing one thousand prayers (elsewhere).

I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say, “Establishing one prayer in the Mosque of Kūfah is equal to establishing one thousand prayers (elsewhere).”

He said: "Makkah is the sanctuary of Allah (swt), the sanctuary of His Messenger, and the sanctuary of Ali ibn Abi Talib (as). A prayer performed therein is equivalent to one hundred thousand prayers, and one dirham spent there is equivalent to one hundred thousand dirhams. Madinah is the sanctuary of Allah (swt), the sanctuary of His Messenger, and the sanctuary of Ali ibn Abi Talib (as). A prayer performed therein is equivalent to ten thousand prayers, and one dirham spent there is equivalent to ten thousand dirhams. Kufa is the sanctuary of Allah (swt), the sanctuary of His Messenger, and the sanctuary of Ali ibn Abi Talib (as). A prayer performed therein is equivalent to one thousand prayers." He remained silent about the dirham (spent there).

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: When I rise to the Praiseworthy Station (al-maqam al-mahmud), I will intercede for those who have committed major sins from my Nation; so, Allah will accept my intercession of them. By Allah, I will not intercede for those who harm my offspring.

“Once a man mentioned his wife before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), and he praised her quite well. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), asked, ‘Have you made her jealous?’ He replied, ‘No, I have not done so.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Make her feel jealous.’ He did so and he found the proof; then said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), that he has found the proof and she is as he (the Imam) has said.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Ali ibn Al-Husayn (a.s.), has said, ‘Perform ‘Umrah and Hajj, your bodies will become healthy, your sustenance increase and you will have sufficient for the expenses of your families.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘One who performs Hajj is forgiven, paradise is necessary, he resumes his deeds and he is safe and sound as well as his family and properties.’”

“Allah feels ashamed to punish a person aged eighty. An elderly person will be brought on the Day of Judgment and his scroll of deeds will be handed over to him. People will see nothing in it except unpleasant things. He will say, ‘O Lord! Will you throw me also into Hell?’ Allah will reply, ‘O elderly! You used to offer Salaat in the world for. I feel ashamed to throw you in Hell’, and he will be ordered to be taken to Paradise.”

“When the wall of the mosque of Kufa is destroyed from the back next to the house of ibn Mass’ood, then the rule of the family of so-and-so will decline. He, who destroys the wall, will not restore it (he perishes before that).”

Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: An elderly man will come on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be given his book. On the apparent, it will have what he partook in by following the people, and he will only see disappointment. That will be prolonged for him; so, he will say: “O Lord! Will you send me to the Fire?!” So, the Almighty will say: “O elderly man! I would be ashamed to punish you because you would pray in the abode of the world. Go with My servants to Paradise.”

When they bring an old man on the Resurrection Day for Reckoning, and hand him his Record of Deeds with the side of it showing his sins and evil deeds facing the people, time will pass very slowly for him. He will say, ‘O my Lord! Do you order that I be taken to Hell?’ God - may His Majesty be Exalted - says, ‘O old man! I feel too shy to punish you, since you prayed when you were living in the world. Take My servant to Paradise!’”
