Hadith 710

7. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father all from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from abu ‘Ubaydah al-Hadhdha’ who has said the following
“I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘What do you say about falcons, hawks and eagle?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘If you arrive in time to slaughter it properly, then you can use it for food but if you do not arrive in time then do not use it for food.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ جَمِيعاً عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَذَّاءِ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) مَا تَقُولُ فِي الْبَازِي وَ الصَّقْرِ وَ الْعُقَابِ فَقَالَ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتَ ذَكَاتَهُ فَكُلْ مِنْهُ وَ إِنْ لَمْ تُدْرِكْ ذَكَاتَهُ فَلَا تَأْكُلْ .
