Hadith 706
۞
3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who sends his dog and hawk to hunt. He (the Imam) said, ‘Do not use for food what the hawk hunts, unless you arrive in time to slaughter it properly. You can use for food what the dog hunts if you have mentioned the name of Allah on it, regardless, the dog has eaten anything or has not eaten.’”
