Hadith 843

Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar (rh) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Ya`qub b. Yazid from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Sayf b. `Amira from Ash`ath b. Siwear from al-Ahnaf b. Qays from Abi Dharr al-Ghifari (rh). He said
One day, we were with the Messenger of Allah (s) in the Quba Mosque. We were with a group of his companions when he said: O my companions! A man who is the Commander of the Faithful and the Imam of the Muslims will come to you through this door. He said: So, they looked, and I looked too. Then, we saw `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) come through the door. So, the Prophet (s) stood, embraced him, and kissed his forehead. He came with him until he sat him to his side. Then, he turned to us with his blessed face and said: This is your Imam after me. Obedience to him is obedience to me, and disobedience to him is disobedience to me; and obedience to me is obedience to Allah, and disobedience to me is disobedience to Allah.

كنا ذات يوم عند رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) في مسجد قبا ونحن نفر من أصحابه إذ قال: معاشر أصحابي، يدخل عليكم من هذا الباب رجل هو أمير المؤمنين وإمام المسلمين. قال: فنظروا وكنت فيمن نظر، فإذا نحن بعلي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام) قد طلع، فقام النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله) فاستقبله وعانقه وقبل ما بين عينيه، وجاء به حتى أجلسه إلى جانبه، ثم أقبل علينا بوجهه الكريم، فقال: هذا إمامكم من بعدي، طاعته طاعتي، ومعصيته معصيتي، وطاعتي طاعة الله، ومعصيتي معصية الله عز وجل (2).
