Hadith 569

Muhammad b. al-Hasan (ra) narrated to us. He said: Al-Hasan b. Matil al-Daqqaq narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi’l Khattab narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Sinan narrated to us from Abi’l Jarud Ziyad b. al-Mundhir from Abi Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali al-Baqir (as). He said
I heard Jabir b. `Abdullah al-Ansari say: The Messenger of Allah (s) was in the house of Umm Ibrahim one day, and a delegation of his companions was with him. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) came forward. When the Prophet (s) saw him, he said: O people! The best of people after me has come forward to you. He is your Master. Obedience to him is an obligation, just like obedience to me. Disobeying him is prohibited, just like disobeying me. O people! I am the House of Wisdom and `Ali is its Key, and the house cannot be sought except by the key. He who alleges to love me yet hates `Ali has lied.

سمعت جابر بن عبد الله الانصاري يقول: إن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) كان ذات يوم في منزل أم إبراهيم، وعنده نفر من أصحابه، إذ أقبل علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام)، فلما بصر به النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله) قال: يا معشر الناس، أقبل إليكم خير الناس بعدي، وهو مولاكم، طاعته مفروضة كطاعتي، ومعصيته محرمة كمعصيتي. معاشر الناس، أنا دار الحكمة، وعلي مفتاحها، ولن يوصل إلى الدار إلا بالمفتاح، وكذب من زعم أنه يحبني ويبغض عليا (2).
