hadith 6774
Imam Ali (AS) said, The [distinguishing] quality of the people of intellect is [their] lack of lust and negligence.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : شيمَةُ العُقَلاءِ قِلَّةُ الشَّهْوَةِ وَ قِلَّةُ الغَفْلَةِ

hadith 6801
Imam Ali (AS) said, One who has intelligence awakens from his negligence, prepares for his journey and maintains [and develops] his abode of [permanent] residence.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مَنْ عَقَلَ تَيَقَّظَ مِنْ غَفْلَتِهِ وَ تَأَهَّبَ لِرِحْلَتِهِ وَ عَمَرَ دارَ إقامَتِه

hadith 6823
Imam Ali (AS) said, It behoves the intelligent one to protect himself from the intoxication of wealth, the intoxication of power, the intoxication of knowledge, the intoxication of praise and the intoxication of youth, for each of these have foul odours that take away intelligence and reduces dignity.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : يَنْبَغي لِلْعاقِلِ أنْ يَحْتَرِسَ مِنْ سُكْرِ المالِ وَ سُكْرِ القُدْرَةِ وَ سُكْرِ العِلْمِ وَسُكْرِ المَدْحِ وَ سُكْرِ الشَّبابِ فَإنَّ لِكُلِّ ذلِكَ رِياحاً خَبيثَةً تَسْلُبُ العَقْلَ وَ تَسْتَخِفُّ الوَقارَ
