295. Wuheyb Bin hafs, from Abu Baseer who said: Abu Abdullah (asws) said: ‘There is none from the servants who calls to the misguidance except that he finds the one who follows him’.

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘One who refuses to pay zakat, on the time of his death asks to be returned to life again and this is referred to in the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, “. . . Lord, allow me to go back so I can do good deeds in what I have left. . (23:99-100)

“Once we were with abu Basir when ‘Amr ibn ’Ilyas came to him and said, ‘O abu Muhammad, my brother from Halab has sent to me a certain amount of goods of Zakat so I distribute in al-Kufah, but it was looted on the way. Do you have any Hadith about it?’ He said, ‘Yes, I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about this issue and I did not think anyone would ever ask me about it. I said to abu Ja‘far (a.s.), I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, a man sends his Zakat from one land to another land and it is looted on the way. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is sufficient (as payment for Zakat) but if it was up to me I would pay it again.’”

“When al-Qa’im will rise with Divine Authority, he will return the House to its foundation, the Masjid of the messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, to its foundation and the Masjid of al-Kufa to its foundation.” Abu Basir has said, ‘Up to the place of the sellers of dates is of the area of the Masjid.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who forms Mula ‘anah against his wife. He (the Imam) said, ‘The child is joined with his mother and his maternal uncle inherits his legacy but he cannot inherit them. I then asked, ‘What happens if he calls himself a liar?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘The child is joined with him.’”

“I once asked one of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about the case of a woman who is divorced and about where she counts her waiting period. He (the Imam) said, ‘She completes it in her home if divorce is in a manner where he has the right to go back to her. He cannot send her out and it is not for her to go out until waiting period is complete.’” It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from Ali ibn abu Hamzah and Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Ali ibn abu Hamzah from abu Basir a similar Hadith.

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who in the state of Ihram, hears a woman speaking from behind the wall and because of lust he discharges semen. He (the Imam) said, ‘There is nothing on him.’”

I heard the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, say: "As if I am at the Pool (Kawthar) seeing those who arrive at me; and there are some who are pushed away from me, so I say: My Lord! (these are) my companions, my companions!" Then the voice says: "You do not know what they did after you. They continued to renege, by turning back on their heels."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one says, “Allah has the knowledge”, when he does not know something, the Throne of Allah vibrates as a sign of expressing His greatness.’”

I heard Aba Abdillah عليه السلام saying: The Qur’an is a Chaser and a Caller. It calls to the Garden and chases away from the Fire

we were with Abi Basir when Amr b. Ilyas came and said to him: O Aba Muhammad (i.e. Abi Basir) my brother is in Halab (Aleppo), he sent me some wealth as Zakat so that I can distribute it in Kufa, but the road was cut-off on him [brigands stole it] – do you have a narration about this? he said: yes, I asked Aba Ja’far عليه السلام this question and I don’t think anyone else has asked me about it before, I said to Abi Ja’far عليه السلام: may I be made your ransom, a man sends his Zakat from one land to another but it is intercepted on the road, he said: he is excused but if it were me I would have repeated again [giving Zakat a second time].

The offering of a cow or a camel would be accepted from seven people whether they be from the same family or not.”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: The heavens and the earth wept over the killing of Ḥusain (a.s.) and they turned red. They have never wept over anyone except for Yaḥyā ibn Zakariyyā (a.s.) and Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.). The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain, from Wuhayb ibn Ḥafs Al-Naḥḥās, from Abī Basīr, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

“Al-Qa’im (as) has two marks; dandruff and a mole on his head and a mole between his two shoulders on the left side. Under the left shoulder there is a mole like the leaf of a myrtle tree.”

I asked Abu Abdullah (as), about a man who made his slave mudabbar (to be freed after his death) while he was in debt, intending to escape from paying the debt. Imam (as) said: "There is no valid tadbir (declaration of delayed emancipation) in this case. However, if he made the tadbir while he was in good health and free from any financial distress, then the creditors have no claim over the slave."

“About shaking hands with a Jew or a Christian he had said, ‘Shake hands with them from behind clothes and if you shook their hand without clothes then you must wash your hands.”’

I asked Abu Abdullah (asws) about the Statement of Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic: “[23:60] And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid”, he (asws) said: ‘This is for their intercession, and their hopes, they (our (asws) shias) fear that their (good) deeds would be rejected (and thrown) back to them if they had not obeyed (with total submission to) Allah (azwj) but they are hoping that these would be Accepted from our (asws) (intercession)’.

“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about the case of a snake that enters in a Hub (large water container) which has water in it and then comes out. He (the Imam) said, ‘If one can find other water it should be spilled away.’”

“About the case of a man who has left behind his paternal aunt and maternal aunt, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The paternal aunt receives two-thirds and the maternal aunt receives one- third.’”

I heard Abu Abdullah (asws) saying: “May Allah have mercy on a servant who endears us to the people and does not make them detest us. By Allah, if they were to narrate the beauty of our words, they would become honored through it, and no one would be able to criticize them for anything. But one of them hears a single word and distorts it into ten.”
