narrated to him ’Isma‘il ibn Sa‘d al-Ahwas who has said the following: “I asked al-Rida (a.s.), ‘Of how many Rak‘at does Salah (prayer) consist?’ He replied, ‘There are fifty-one Rak‘at (every day).”’ Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa a similar Hadith.

Allah will hide the faults of one who controls his anger.”

The narrator asked Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) regarding a greater sin. Imam (a.s.) replied, “Every such deed for which Allah has promised Hell is a greater sin.”

I wrote along with Muhammad ibn Yahya asking whether the executor of a will is permitted to purchase something from the deceased's estate when it is sold to the highest bidder and take it for himself. Imam (as) replied: "It is permissible if he purchases it properly."

We prayed the final `Isha with the Messenger of Allah (s). When he recited the taslim, he turned his face toward us, then said: Surely, a meteor will fall from the sky at the rise of dawn. It will land in the house of one of you. Whoever has the meteor fall into his house, then he is my deputy, my vicegerent (khalifa), and the Imam after me. When Fajr approached, every one of us sat in his house waiting for the meteor to fall in his house. The most desirous of the people of that was my father, al-`Abbas b. `Abd al-Muttalib. At the rise of dawn, the meteor emerged in the air and landed in the house of `Ali b. Abi Talib (as). So, the Messenger of Allah (s) said to `Ali (as): O `Ali! By Him who raised me with prophethood! The deputyship, vicegerency, and Imamate has been obligated for you after me. Then, the hypocrites of `Abdullah b. Ubay and his companions said: Muhammad has deviated in his love for his cousin, and he only spoke with regards to him out of desire. So, Allah revealed, “By the star when it fades away” (53:1) – Allah is saying: “By the Creator of the star when it fades away” – “Your companion has not deviated” (53:2) – meaning, Muhammad (s) in his love for `Ali b. Abi Talib – “nor has he gone astray. Nor does he speak out of desire.” (53:2-3) – meaning, with regards to him – “Rather, it is not but a revealed revelation.” (53:4)

1. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “One who resists his own self instead of people, will get protection against the fear of the Day of Judgment.”

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’When you wash your hand for food do not wipe it with a towel because blessings continue in the food as long as hands have moisture in them/”

"If you see that they love the family of Muhammad (sw), peace be upon them, then elevate them in status."

The right of an ill traveler upon his travel companions is to stay with him for three days. ”

I heard Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, say: Indeed, a man is surely to drink (by the amount of) a sip, and Allah will make him enter Paradise. I said: And how is that? He said: Indeed, a man is surely to drink water, then interrupt it, then move the container away while he desires it, and then he will praise Allah, then return it and drink. He will then move it away while he desires it, and then he will praise Allah, then return it and drink. By that, Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, will obligate Paradise to him for that.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not perform Salah (prayer) in a house in which there is a Zoroastrian, but it is not a offense if there is a Jew or a Christian.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When a man goes to bed with his wife then she asks for her mahr (dower) and he says that he has paid, he must present testimony and take an oath.’”

I heard Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, say: The one who is Arabized after migration is (like) an abandoner of this matter (of belief) after having known it.

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who uses a toothpick while he is in the state of Ihram. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), did not like the leftover of a person born out of wedlock, Jews, Christians and pagans and whoever opposed Islam and most serious to him was the leftover of one hostile to ’A’immah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam.”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Amr ibn Jami has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) have mercy on him - from Ahmad ibn Idris, from Muhammad ibn Ahmad, from Al-Hasan ibn Al-Husayn Al-Lu'lu'i, from Al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Yusuf, from Muadh Al-Jawhari, from Amr ibn Jami.

I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) about performing Ghusl when going to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.). Imam (a.s.) replied, “Performing Ghusl is not obligatory.”

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of children who play with walnuts and eggs and gamble. He (the Imam) said, ‘You must not consume them for food; it is unlawful.’”
