If one of you prays without mentioning the Prophet (s), then he treads a path other than the way to Paradise with his prayer.

He who meets a pilgrim and makes room for him shall be like one who reached the [Black] Stone.

A man said: O Messenger of Allah! Greying has hastened to you. He said: [Surat] Hud, al-Waq`ia, al-Mursalat, and `amma yatasa’alun have greyed me.

Abu Dharr (rh) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! [What do you say regarding] a man who works for himself and gains the love of the people? He said: That is of the immediate glad tidings of the believer.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Do not gloat over the misfortune of your brother, or else Allah will have mercy on him and cause you tribulation.

Fasting Sha`ban and the month of Ramadan [results in] the forgiveness of Allah, even [from] the prohibited [shedding of] blood.

Muhammad b. Isma`il b. Bazi` narrated to me. He said: Abu’l Hasan `Ali b. Musa al-Rida (as) said, regarding the saying of Allah: "Sight comprehends Him not, yet He comprehends all sight." (6:103) He said: The imagination of the hearts cannot comprehend Him, so how could the sight of eyes comprehend him?!

I heard Abu Abdillah Ja’far ibn Muhammad, peace be upon him, say: "By Allah, you ought to realize that you are following the religion of Allah and His angels; so help us to that end by being pious and by (strenuous) effort (to remain steadfast). It is your duty to always establish prayers and be worshipping. It is your duty to remain pious."

I heard ‘Ali, peace be upon him, say: "I am the master of the aged ones. And in me is the tradition of Ayyub (i.e. his sufferings), and by Allah, He will gather together my family for me, the way He did for Ya’qooibn"

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: For Allah, there are angels who visit the Earth who deliver the salaam of my Nation to me.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: The first things to rectify this Nation are asceticism and certainty, and the last things to destroy it are stinginess and wishful thinking.

Ruqayya bt. Ishaq b. Musa b. Ja`far b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib narrated to us from her father from her forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: No worshiper’s foot will move on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about four: (1) his life – how did he spend it? (2) His youth – how did he use it? (3) His wealth – where did he earn it, and how did he spend it? (4) And about loving us, the Ahl al-Bayt.

Allah is not described with a time, nor with a place, nor with motion, nor with transition, nor with stillness. Rather, He is the Creator of time, place, motion, stillness, and transition. He is far above what the oppressors say.

Abu’l Husayn `Ali b. al-Mu`alla al-Asadi narrated to us. He said: I was told that al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: Surely, for Allah there is a region called Vengeance. When Allah gives a worshiper wealth, with which he does not give Allah that which is due to Him from it, Allah will give him land from that region, wherein the money will dissipate and he will abandon it.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: The mother of Sulayman b. Dawud said to Sulayman (as): “O my son! Beware of sleeping too much at night, for one who sleeps too much at night will be destitute [of good deeds] on the Day of Resurrection.”

Gabriel (as) came to the Prophet (s) and said: O Muhammad! Live for as long as you want – you will die. Love whoever you want – you will be separated. Do what you want – you will reap its outcome. Know that the honour of a man is in standing in prayer at night, and his glory is in being needless of the people.

The Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said: "I have been taught (by Allah) the seven verses (i.e. Surah al-Fateha) of two recitations. And the whole Ummah of mine was presented to me (while in the clay form), till I was able to see its small and its big; and I looked at the entire heavens. And when I saw you, O ‘Ali, I sought forgiveness for you and your followers till the Day of Judgement."

Abu Talib said to the Prophet (s): O nephew! Did Allah commission you? He said: Yes. He said: Then show me a sign – he said: Call to this tree for me. So, he called to it, and it proceeded until it prostrated before him. Then, it went away. So, Abu Talib said: I bear witness that you are truthful. O `Ali, pray behind your cousin.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Allah said: I am Allah, there is no god but Me. I created the kings, and their hearts are in My hand. When a people obey Me, I make their kings’ hearts a mercy on them. When a people disobey me, I make their kings’ hearts a tribulation against them. Do not busy yourselves with insulting the kings – repent to Me, and I will make their hearts kind to you.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever hates us, the Ahl al-Bayt, Allah will raise him up on the Day of Resurrection as a Jew. It was said: O Messenger of Allah! Even if he bears witness to the two testimonies? He said: Yes, for surely, he only upholds these two sayings so that his blood may not be shed, or so that he does not pay the jizya as a subordinate. Then, he said: Whoever hates us, the Ahl al-Bayt, Allah will raise him as a Jew. It was said: How, O Messenger of Allah? He said: If he came by the Dajjal, he would believe in him.
