Hadith 345
۞
Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Asadi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Jarir and al-Hasan b. `Urwa and `Abdullah b. Muhammad al-Wahbi narrated to us. They said: Muhammad b. Humayd narrated to us. He said: Zafir b. Sulayman narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Uyayna narrated to us from Abi Hazim from Sahl b. Sa`d. He said
Gabriel (as) came to the Prophet (s) and said: O Muhammad! Live for as long as you want – you will die. Love whoever you want – you will be separated. Do what you want – you will reap its outcome. Know that the honour of a man is in standing in prayer at night, and his glory is in being needless of the people.

جاء جبرئيل (عليه السلام) إلى النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله)، فقال: يا محمد، عش ما شئت فإنك ميت وأحبب من شئت فإنك مفارقه، واعمل ما شئت فإنك مجزي به، واعلم أن شرف الرجل قيامه بالليل، وعزه استغناؤه عن الناس (4).
