“Ali is the door of guidance. Those who oppose him are infidels and his deniers are destined to Hell.”

“I once asked al-‘Askariy, Alayhi al-Salam, in al-Madinah about the case of a man who has made a will to spend in the way of Allah. He (the Imam) said, ‘In the way of Allah is our Shi ’ah (followers).”’

“This matter (deliverance) is not carried out except by the obscurest and youngest one of us.”

“If there are no people on the earth except two men, one of them must be al-Hujjah (Imam al-Mahdi).”

“The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, performed Tawaf around al-Ka‘bah until he reached al-Yemaniy corner. He then raised his head toward al-Ka‘bah and said, ‘All praise belongs to Allah who has given you (al- Ka’bah) distinction and greatness. All praise belongs to Allah who has sent me as a prophet and has made Ali an Imam. O Allah, guide through him Your best creatures and keep the evil ones of Your creatures away from him.’”

“A night is twelve hours, a day is twelve hours, a year is twelve months, the imams are twelve and the disciples are twelve. Imam Ali (as) is an hour of the twelve hours as Allah has said, “But they reject the hour, and We have prepared a burning fire for him who rejects the hour.”

Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) said: Verily our Wilāyah was offered to the inhabitants of different lands but no one accepted it as well as the inhabitants of Kūfah did, and this is because the grave of ‘Ali (a.s.) is located in it. Verily there is another grave close to the grave of the Commander of the Believers (a.s.) – referring to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) – to which no one comes, and next to which he prays two or four Rak’ah, and asks Allāh for his needs without Allāh granting it. Verily one thousand angels circulate this grave everyday.

O people! There will be no Prophet after me and there will be no nation after you. Thus, worship your Lord. Say your five times of prayers. Fast during your month of fasting. Go on the Hajj pilgrimage of the House of your Lord! Pay the alms-tax on your property thereby purify yourselves and obey those in charge of your affairs and enter the Paradise of your Lord!”

Gabriel (as) came down to the Prophet (sw) and said: O Muhammad! Peace (God) recites the salaam to you and says: “I created the seven heavens and that which is in them, and the seven Earths and that which is upon them. I did not create a place that is greater than the rukn and the maqam. If a worshiper supplicates to Me there from when I created the heavens and the Earths, then meets Me as a rejector of the wilaya of `Ali, I will throw him into Hellfire.”

“Verily, Allah, Blessed and Exalted be He, has given the believer a guarantee.” I asked, “What is it?” He replied, “If a believer professes his (Allah’s) divinity, Muhammad’s (sw) prophethood, and `Ali’s (as) Imamate, and carries out his duties, He guarantees him eternal life in His Presence [jiwar].” I said: “By Allah! This is a blessing with which none of the blessings bestowed upon the children of Adam can compare!” Abu 'Abdillah (AS) replied, “Do little, and you will enjoy much.”

When Abu al-Hasan al-Risa (AS) reached Naysabur, and intended to go from there to al-Ma’mum, some traditionists met him. They asked him, “O son of the Messenger of Allah! You are going from us without relating any Hadith to us so that we can derive benefit from you.” He was sitting in a camel-borne sedan, so he leaned his head out, and replied: I heard my father, Musa ibn Ja’far say: I heard my father Ja’far ibn Muhammad say: I heard my father Muhammad ibn `Ali say: I heard my father `Ali ibn Husayn say: I heard my father Husayn ibn `Ali ibn Abu Talib say: I heard my father the Commander of the faithful `Ali ibn Abu Talib (AS) say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (sw) say: I heard Jibra’il say: I heard Allah, Exalted be His Glory, say, `There is no god but Allah’ is my Fortress. Whoever enters My Fortress is safe from My Chastisement.” When the camel passed by, he (AS) called out to us, “That is subject to conditions. And I am among its conditions.”
The Compiler of this book explains: Among the conditions (of the statement; there is no god but Allah) is the acknowledgment that Al-Rida (AS) is an Imam appointed by Allah, the Mighty and High, over the people [`ibad], and the one to whom obedience is due.

“I heard Ahmad ibn abu Khalid, stating that he (The Imam (a.s.) had appointed him as witness to bear testimony to this documented will in the following words. “Ahmad ibn abu Khalid, the slave of abu Ja‘far, bears testimony that abu Ja‘far, Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Musa ibn Ja‘far ibn Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) is asked to bear testimony. Testimony to the fact that he has appointed his son, Ali, the executor of his directive wills about himself and bout his sisters. He has placed the affairs of Musa in his charge when he would attain maturity. He has appointed ‘Abdallah ibn al-Musawir as the over seer to his legacy, his estate, property, expenditures and slaves etc., until Ali ibn Muhammad will reach the age of maturity. At such time ‘Abdallah ibn al-Musawir will transfer the overseeing position to him (Ali ibn Muhammad (a.s.)). He thereafter will take charge of his own affairs and sister. The management of the affairs of Musa will also be left to him. Musa will take charge of his own affairs after the two (overseers) according to the conditions set forth by the father of the two of them in the matters his charitable charities. This has been documented on Sunday 3rd dhu al-Hijja, in the year two hundred twenty. Ahmad ibn abu Khalid has transcribed his own testimony with his own hand writing. He has asked al-Hassan ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abdallah ibn al-Hassan ibn ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.). He is also known as al-Jawani has a testimony just like the testimony of Ahmad ibn abu Khalid at the beginning of this document. He als has written his testimony with his own hand and the witness to bear testimony in the document is Nasr, the servant and he has written his bearing testimony with his own hand.”

The Messenger of Allah (sw) said: "I am the master of the prophets and the messengers, and better than the close angels. My successors are the masters of the successors of the prophets and the messengers, and my progeny are the best progeny of the prophets and the messengers, and my companions who follow my path are the best companions of the prophets and the messengers, and my daughter Fatima is the lady of the women of the worlds, and the pure ones from my wives are the mothers of the believers. And my nation is the best nation brought forth for people, and I am the prophet with the most followers on the Day of Resurrection, and I have a pool as wide as the distance between Basra and Sana'a. It contains cups as numerous as the stars in the sky. My successor at the pool that day is my successor in this world." It was asked: "Who is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "The leader of the Muslims, the commander of the faithful, and their guardian after me, Ali ibn Abi Talib. He will give drink to his friends and drive away his enemies just as one of you drives away strange camels from the watering place." Then he (sw) said: "Whoever loves Ali and obeys him in this world will come to my pool tomorrow and be with me at my level in Paradise; and whoever hates Ali in this world and disobeys him, I will not see him, nor will he see me on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be driven away from me and taken to the left, to Hell."

The Messenger of Allah (s) said to me: O `Ali! You are my brother, and I am your brother. I was chosen for prophethood, and you were selected for Imamate. I am the patron of revelation, and you are the patron of interpretation. You and I are the two fathers of this Nation. O `Ali! You are my deputy, my vicegerent (khalifa), my vizier, and my inheritor. You are the father of my descendants. Your partisans (shi`a) are my partisans, and your supporters are my supporters. Your friends are my friends, and your enemies are my enemies. O `Ali! You are my companion over the Pond anon. You are my companion in the Praiseworthy Station (maqam al-mahmud). You are my standard bearer in the Hereafter just as you are my standard bearer in this world. Whoever aligns with you will be made happy, and whoever opposes you will be made wretched. Surely, the angels gain nearness to Allah through your love and your wilaya. By Allah, there are more who love you in heaven than there are on Earth. O `Ali! You are the trustee of my Nation and the Proof of Allah over it after me. Your words are my words, your order is my order, obedience to you is obedience to me, your rebuke is my rebuke, your prohibition is my prohibition, and disobedience to you is disobedience to me. Your party is my party, and my party is the Party of Allah. “Whoever aligns with Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe, then surely, the Party of Allah will prevail.” (5:56)
