Everything in this book that is narrated from Ali ibn Al-Rayan has been transmitted by me from Muhammad ibn Ali Majilawayh - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from Ali ibn Al-Rayan.

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ali ibn Al-Fadl Al-Wasiti has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) have mercy on him - from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from Ali ibn Al-Fadl Al-Wasiti, the companion of Imam Al-Ridha (as).

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ali ibn Bilal has been transmitted by me from Muhammad ibn Ali Majilawayh - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashim, from his father, from Ali ibn Bilal.

“I said to abu Ja‘far (a.s.), ‘You have different friends, thus, I perform Salah (prayer) behind every one of them.’ The Imam said, ‘Do not perform Salah (prayer) behind anyone whom you cannot trust in matters of his religion.’ He then said, ‘I have many friends.’ I said, ‘You have many companions.’ He then immediately, before I could mention their names, said, ‘No, (do not mention their names). Ali ibn Hadid requires you to do this. Is this what Ali ibn Hadid commands you to do?’ I replied, ‘Yes, that is correct.’”

And whatever is narrated from Ali ibn Maṭar, I have narrated it from Ahmad ibn Ziyad ibn Jafar Al-Hamadani - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashim, from his father, from Muhammad ibn Sinan, from Ali ibn Maṭar.

“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘On the ring of Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), the writing said, ‘Disgraced and destroyed are murderers of al-Husayn ibn Ali (a.s.)’”

He who denies the Midnight Ascension is belying Rasulullah (s).

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ali ibn Atiyyah has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) have mercy on him - from Sad ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, from Ali ibn Hassan, from Ali ibn Atiyyah Al-Asam Al-Hannat Al-Kufi.

I went to Paradise and saw that the following was written in gold on the gate, ‘La illaha illalah Muhammadan habibullah Alian valiullah Fatimah Ummatal al-Hassan val-hussein safvatallah ala mobqazayahum la’natallah.’ ”

“Once I said abu al-Hassan (a.s.), “If something will happen-I seek refuge before Allah – to who then will go (Leadership with Divine Authority)?” He said, “My covenant (directive will) is for the eldest of my sons.”

Muhammad b. Ya`qub al-Kulayni from `Ali b. Muhammad also known as `Alan from Muhammad al-Faraj al-Rakhji. He said: I wrote to Abi’l Hasan `Ali b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. Musa b. Ja`far b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) asking him about what Hisham b. al-Hakam said regarding the body [of Allah] and what Hisham b. Salim said regarding the form. So, he (as) wrote: Leave the perplexity of the perplexed and seek refuge in Allah from Satan. The [correct] doctrine is not what the two Hishams have said.

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ali ibn Suwayd has been transmitted by me from my father and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them both - from Sad ibn Abdullah and Abdullah ibn Jafar Al-Himyari together, from Ali ibn Al-Hakam, from Ali ibn Suwayd.

“I once wrote to him (in a muzmar manner) (a.s.), and asked about a person who dies in ‘Arafat. Should he be buried in ‘Arafat or moved to al-Haram (the sacred area) and which one is more proper?’ He wrote back, ‘Moving to al-Haram (the sacred area) is more proper.

“Once Ali ibn Bilal wrote to abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about the condition of a grave asking, ‘Someone may die in our area but the ground of the grave is wet.’ We pave it (the floor) with teak (wooden board) or cover it in this way, is this permissible? He (the Imam) wrote the answer, ‘It is permissible.’” H 4536, Ch. 64, h 2

“I once asked my brother, abu al-Hassan ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about kohl made into dough with al- Nabidh; if it is proper. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it is not proper.’”

“’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), would perform Salah (prayer) toward the seventh pillar which is before al-Kindah door with a remaining distance of the size of a goat between him and that pillar.”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ali ibn Yaqtin has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn 'Isa, from Al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Yaqtin, from his brother Al-Husayn, from their father Ali ibn Yaqtin.

“A child should be instructed to fast when he is fifteen or sixteen years old.”

“I heards al-Rida (a.s.) saying, “Ali ibn ‘Abdallah (or ‘Ubaydallah)ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.), his wife and childred are of the people of paradise.” He then said, “Whoever would recognize this matter (Leadership with Divine Authority) in the descendants of Ali and Fatima (a.s.) he would not be like the people.”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Zayd ibn Ali ibn Al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon them, has been transmitted by me from my father and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them both - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Abu Al-Jawza' Al-Munabbih ibn Abdullah, from Al-Husayn ibn 'Alwan, from 'Amr ibn Khalid, from Zayd ibn Ali ibn Al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon them.
