Imam Ali (AS) said, Cling to certitude and eschew doubt, for there is nothing more destructive for a person with regards to his religion than the prevailing of doubt over his certitude.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : عَلَيْكَ بِلُزُومِ اليَقينِ وَتَجَنُّبِ الشَّكِّ فَلَيْسَ لِلْمَرْءِ شَيْءٌ أهْلَكَ لِدينِهِ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الشَّكِّ عَلى يَقينِهِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘You must adhere to conviction and keep away from doubt, for there is nothing more detrimental to a mans faith than for doubt to overpower his conviction.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): علَيكَ بِلُزُوم اليَقينِ وتَجَنُّبِ الشَّكِّ ، فلَيسَ للمَرءِ شَيءٌ أهْلَكَ لِدِينِهِ مِن غَلَبَةِ الشَّكِّ على يَقينِهِ.

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Start with salt before you eat. If people knew what [benefits] salt has, they would prefer it to tested medicine.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : ابْدَؤوا بِالمِلْحِ فِي أوَّلِ طَعَامِكُمْ ، فَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي المِلْحِ لاخْتَارُوهُ عَلَى الدِّرْيَاقِ المُجَرَّبِ .

Imam Ali (AS) said, Do not incline towards your ignorant people (or your ignorance) and do not follow your vain desires, for indeed the one who alights at this stop is on the brink of a collapsing bank.

Imam Ali (AS) said, For every exterior there is a hidden interior that is like it, so one whose exterior is good his interior is also good, and whoever has a bad exterior has a bad interior.

Imam Ali (AS) said, Do not be infatuated with this world, for it brings you wretchedness and tribulation and impels you to sell the eternal for the transient.

Imam Ali (AS) said, Wage war against yourselves for [keeping away from] this world and turn yourselves away from it, for it vanishes quickly, quakes frequently and transfers soon.

We praise Allāh for what has happened and seek His succour in our affairs for what is yet to happen, and we beg Him for safety in the faith just as we beg Him for safety in our bodies.
نَحْمَدُهُ عَلَى مَا كَانَ، وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ مِنْ أَمْرِنا عَلَى مَا يَكُونُ، وَنَسْأَلُهُ الْمُعَافَاةَ في الاْدْيَانِ، كَمَا نَسَأَلُهُ الْمُعَافَاةَ فِي الاْبْدَانِ.

312. Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: Sometimes the hearts move forward and sometimes they move backward. When they move forward get them to perform the optionals (as well), but when they move backward keep them confined to obligatories only.
٣١٢. وَقَالَ (عليه ‏السلام): إِنَّ لِلْقُلُوبِ إِقْبَالًا وَإِدْبَاراً فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتْ فَاحْمِلُوهَا عَلَى النَّوَافِلِ، وَإذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاقْتَصِرُوا بِهَا عَلَى الْفَرَائِضِ.

478. Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: Allāh has not made it obligatory on the ignorant to learn till He has made it obligatory on the learned to teach.
٤٧٨. وَقَالَ (عليه ‏السلام): مَا أَخَذَ اللهُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْجَهْلِ أَنْ يَتَعَلَّمُوا حَتَّى أَخَذَ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنْ يُعَلِّمُوا.

Hadith.3916 - Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) was asked about the saying of Allah (swt), the Mighty and Glorious: "And upon Allah (swt) let the reliant rely" (Surah Ibrahim 14:12). Imam (as) said: "It refers to the farmers."
3916 - وَ سُئِلَ عَلِيٌّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَنْ قَوْلِ اَللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: ۝ وَ عَلَى اَللّٰهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ اَلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ ۝ قَالَ "اَلزَّارِعُونَ".
