“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who says to his wife, ‘You are unlawful for me.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘There is no expiation on him and it is not a divorce.’”

I heard Aba Abdillah عليه السلام saying: The Qur’an is a Chaser and a Caller. It calls to the Garden and chases away from the Fire

“About shaking hands with a Jew or a Christian he had said, ‘Shake hands with them from behind clothes and if you shook their hand without clothes then you must wash your hands.”’

“One of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘Women do not receive anything from houses and real property.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Divorce by a child and one who is drunk do not have any valid effect.’”

Shu`ba informed us. He said: Al-Hakam narrated to us. He said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla say: I met Ka`b b. `Ajra, so he said: Shall I not gift something to you? Surely, the Messenger of Allah (sw) came to us, so we said: O Messenger of Allah! You have taught us how to send peace (salaam) to you, but how do we send blessings to you? He said: Say: “O Allah! Bless Muhammad, just as you blessed Ibrahim. Surely, You are Majestic and Glorious. Send benedictions upon the Family of Muhammad, just as You sent benedictions upon the Family of Ibrahim. Surely, You are Majestic and Glorious.
(Allahumma salli `ala Muhammad kama sallayta `ala Ibrahim, innaka hamidun majid. Wa barik `ala aali Muhammad kama barakta `ala aali Ibrahim, innaka hamidun majid)”

I asked Abu Ja'far (as) about a man who died without performing the Hajj of Islam and did not include it in his will. Should it be performed on his behalf? Imam (as) said: "Yes."

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the pebbles that I find with me after coming out of the Masjid. He (the Imam) said, ‘Return them or throw in the Masjid.’”

“Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) has said, ‘One who fulfills what Allah has made obligatory upon him, he, among the people, is the one who worships the most.’”

“(Imam) abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) said, ‘You must write down because you will not memorize until you write down.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is of the Sunnah that the Imam must not leave Mina’ for ‘Arafah, until it is sunrise.’”

“I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), about Kalalah. He (the Imam) said, ‘One who is not a son or a father.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘The sale of one grown up camel in exchange for ten fetuses of camel to be born is not valid.’”

“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the case of a man who has testimony; if it is obligatory on him to take an oath. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it is not obligatory on him/”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Visit of a patient is complete when you place your hand on him when you meet him.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Earning certain kinds of sustenance dries up one’s skin on his bones (very hard to earn).”’

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about what is permissible for a man to enjoy with his wife during her experiencing Hayd (menses). He (the Imam) said, ‘Everything except her vulva.’”

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘One, in the state of Ihram, can pronounce divorce but cannot get married.’”

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘Why should anyone among you be weaker than an ant which pulls (food) to its colony?”’

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a woman who is divorced three times according to Sunnah; if she deserves maintenance and accommodation. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it does not apply to her case.”’
