1. [1/257] Ghayba of al-Tusi: A large number from Abi Muhammad [Harun] al-Tali’ukbari from Abi Ali Muhammad b. Hammam who said
al-Shari’i had the Kuniyya Abi Muhammad [Harun said: I think his name was al-Hasan] and he was one of the companions of Abi al-Hasan Ali b. Muhammad [al-Naqi] عليه السلام and then al-Hasan b. Ali [al-Askari] عليه السلام after him. He was the first to claim a station that Allah did not bestow on him and for which he was not suited. He lied upon Allah and His Proofs عليهم السلام and attributed to them that which is not fitting to them and which they are disassociated from. Then the Shia cursed him and disassociated from him. A Tawqi of the Imam عليه السلام came out in cursing and disassociating from him. Harun said: He [Shari’i] ultimately manifested a call to outright disbelief and heresy.

528. b – From him, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Fazzaal, from AL-Hassan Bin Jahm who said
I heard Abu Al-Hassan (asws) saying: ‘The dream is upon what interpretation you give it’. So I said to him (asws) that, ‘Some of our companions are reporting that the dream of the king was a confused dream’. So Abu Al-Hassan (asws) said: ‘A woman saw a dream during the era of the Rasool Allah (saww) that a pillar of her house had broken. So she came to the Rasool Allah (saww) and related the dream to him (saww). The Prophet (saww) said to her: ‘Your husband will come to you safely’; and her husband had gone away (in a caravan). So he came just as the Prophet (saww) said that he would. Then he went away from her for another time. She saw in the dream as if a pillar of her house had broken. So she came to the Prophet (saww) and related the dream to him (saww). So he (saww) said to her: ‘Your husband will come to you safely’. So he came as he (saww) had said he would. Then her husband went away for a third time. She saw in her dream that a pillar of her house had broken. She met a left-handed man (a fortune teller), so she related her dream to him. The man said to her, ‘The evil. Your husband is dead’. (As the news of her dead husband) reached the Prophet (saww), so he (saww) said: ‘If only he had interpreted it for her in a good way’.

47-41 Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan ibn Ahmad ibn al-Waleed - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan al-Saffar quoted on the authority of Muhammad ibn al-Waleed ibn Yazid al-Kermani, on the authority of Abi Muhammad al-Basri
“Abul Hassan Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.) came (to Baghdad). I asked him in writing to grant me permission to go to Egypt to do business. In response he wrote, ‘Wait to see what God wills.’ I waited for two years. In the third year I wrote to him (a.s.) and asked for permission again. He wrote back, ‘Go. May this be blessed for you. God will change things for you.’ Then I left (for Egypt) and made a lot of profit. There was chaos in Baghdad and I was saved from that sedition.”

Mohammed bin al-Hasan bin Ahmed bin al-Waleed, Allah may have mercy upon him, narrated to us from Mohammed bin al-Hasan as-Saffar from Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Barqi from Mohammed bin al-Hasan bin Shamoun from Abdullah bin Amr bin al-Ash’ath from Abdullah bin Hemmad al-Ansari from Abdullah bin Sinan from Amr bin Abi al-Miqdam from his father that Abu Ja’far (as) said
O Abu al-Miqdam, the Shia of Ali (as) are only the pale, the thin, and the feeble. Their lips are faded because of worship and their stomachs are atrophied. Their colors are pale and they are white-faced. When night comes upon them, they betake the ground as their bed and the direction of their foreheads. Their eyes are teary, their teardrops are heavy, and their prayers are very much. They recite the Book of Allah. When people are happy, they are grieved.

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from al-Mukhtar ibn Muhammad al-Mukhtar Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Hassan all from al-Fath ibn Yazid who has said the following
“I once asked abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), about the conditions of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage). He (the Imam) said, ‘Of the conditions in it is setting up an appointed time and the amount of mahr (dower), if she agreed it then is lawful. You must not say as it is reported to me that people of Iraq say, “Water is mine and land is your land and I do not water your land except that if anything grows there it belongs to the owner of the land.” In such case, where there are two conditions (responsibility for the child and denying the child) in one condition, it is invalid. If she is granted a child he must accept him and the issue is clear. If anyone wants to commit fraud against his soul he does it.’”

32-20 Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan ibn Ahmad ibn al-Waleed - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan al-Saffar quoted on the authority of Muhammad ibn Isa that Al-Hassan al-Nadhr asked Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.), “What is the reason they say the phrase God is the Greatest five times over a person’s corpse?” He (a.s.) said, “
On the surface it seems that this is because it has been taken from the five daily prayers. However, there is another reason for that. Indeed the Honorable the Exalted God has made it incumbent upon His servants to perform five obligatory deeds: praying, paying the alms-tax, fasting, going on the Hajj pilgrimage, and accepting the Mastery (of the Immaculate Imams). Therefore, He has established saying God is the Greatest once for eachof the obligatory deeds. If he has accepted the Mastery (of the Immaculate Imams), then it should be said five times. However, if he has not accepted it, the phrase God is the Greatest should be said only four times. That is why when one of you (the Shiites) die, the phrase is said five times. However, when one who disagrees with you (i.e. is not one of the Shiites) dies, the phrase is said only four times.

when our people mentioned the intellect (al-'Aql) he (al-Ridha) (as) said: "Those without intellect (al-'Aql) are not regarded among the people of religion." I said, "May I be your ransom, some describe this matter (i.e. Imamah) to a group who are acceptable to us, yet lack such intelligence." He replied, "These are not the ones Allah addressed. Indeed, Allah created the intellect (al-'Aql) and said to it, 'Step forward' and it came forward. Then he said, 'Step back,' and it went back. He then said, 'By My glory and majesty, I have not created anything better than you, nor anything dearer to me than you. With you, I shall take, and to you, I shall give.'"

6. [6/6] Usul al-Kafi: Abu Abdillah al-Asimi from Ali b. al-Hasan from Ali b. Asbat from al-Hasan b. al-Jahm from Abi al-Hasan al-Ridha عليه السلام. He (al-Asimi) said
Our companions (the Shias) and intellect were mentioned in his presence, so he عليه السلام said: consideration is not given to a man of religion who has no intellect. I said: may I be made your ransom, from those who claim this affair (Wilaya) there are some who do mean well but do not have that level of intellect, so he said: such people are not the ones addressed by Allāh, verily Allāh created the intellect and said to it: draw near, so it drew near, and said to it: turn back, so it turned back, then He said: by my power and majesty I have not created a thing better than you or more beloved to me than you, by you do I take and by you do I give.

2. He said: Abdul Husayn Muhammad ibnal-Muzaffar al-Bazzaz, reported to me from Abul Qasim Abdul Malik ibn ‘Ali al-Dahhan, who reported from Abul Hasan ‘Ali ibn al-Hasan, from al-Hasan ibn Bashir, from As’ad ibn Saeed from Jabir who said
Once, Amirul Mu’mineen ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him heard someone abusing Qambar, and Qambar was about to answer back. So, Amirul Mu’mineen ‘Ali, peace be upon him, called out to Qambar: "Take it easy O, Qambar! Leave the one who abuses you to be ashamed of himself, so that Allah is pleased and Satan is resentful and your adversary is punished. For, By He Who, split the grain and created the breathing man, nothing from a believer pleases His Sustainer better than forbearance; and nothing makes Satan more indignant than the silence; and the fool is best punished when totally ignored."

I entered upon Abi Abdillah عليه السلام – so he said to me: what has happened to Bazi`? I said: he has been killed, he said: All praise is due to Allah – for there is nothing more appropriate for these Mughiriyya than being killed – this is because they will never repent ever.
