“I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about al-‘Aqiq and which part of it is more virtuous for assuming the state of Ihram. He (the Imam) said, ‘From its beginning is better.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A wine addict is one who drinks whenever he finds.’”

“Fasting on the day of Eid-e- Ghadeer is equal to the compensation of sins committed in sixty years.”

I asked Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him) about a man who has only performed the marriage contract (mamluk, meaning he has not yet consummated the marriage) and then declares ẓihar (a pre-Islamic form of divorce where a husband likens his wife to a prohibited relative). Imam (as) said: "There is no ẓihar and no īla' (an oath to abstain from marital relations) until he consummates the marriage with her."

"I asked Abu Al-Hasan (as) about a man who forgot the two Rak'ahs of the obligatory Tawaf and had already proceeded to Mina. He replied: 'He should return to the Maqam of Ibrahim (as) and perform them.'"

“Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) has said, ‘The evil ones among you are those who spread gossip that causes separation among the loved ones, and seek to label the innocent with defects.’”

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), when fasting would use perfumes and say that perfume is the gift of fasting person.’”

“Do not write “In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful” for so and so on the back on an envelope, but it is fine to write “for so and so” on back of the envelope.”

From among the signs of understanding are forbearance and silence.

“About the case of a man who buys a slave-girl, then does sexual intercourse, then finds her to be pregnant, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘He must return her with something.’”

I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.)?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “They are like those who perform the Ziyārah of Allāh on His Throne.”

Hassan ibn al-Jaham asked Imam Reza (a.s): “What is the ultimate limit of humbleness?” He said: “It is to want for others what you want for yourself.” He said: “May I be your devoted servant! I want to know how I seem to you.” He said: “Look and see how I seem to you.”

2. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) says, “The color of dye, which Allah likes the most is dark black.”

He who denies these four matters does not belong to our Shia: the Midnight Ascension, the tomb's interrogation, the creation of Paradise and Hell, and [the right of] intercession.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Perform al-Hajj repeatedly and al-‘Umrah assiduously (or after every nine days). This expels the burden of poverty and death in wickedness.’”

“If there are no people on the earth except two, one of them will the imam.”

“The time between the birth of al-Hasan and the conception for al-Husayn was like one menstuaral cycle and the time between the birth of the two was six months and ten days.”

Muhammad bin Hasan [Shaykh Tusi] says: That which was mentioned in the previous report is based on the fact that change of destiny (Bada) occurred about Ismail as well as Muhammad. It means that with regard to the brother of Muhammad, Imam Hasan Askari (a.s), a new matter was revealed from Almighty Allah and this removed doubt about his Imamate, since some Shia thought that Imamate was fixed for Muhammad and he was the Imam, as he was elder to Imam Hasan Askari (a.s). They thought in the same way with regard to the Imamate of Ismail bin Ja’far and Imam Musa Kadhim (a.s) not being the Imam. Hence when Muhammad died, the command of Allah was revealed about him; that is he is not the Imam and that he is not appointed to Imamate, and the same was revealed with regard to Ismail previously. Not that previously a text based on his Imamate was mentioned and after that Allah changed His decision in favor of someone; as such a thing is impossible from Almighty Allah and He is aware of the end of all matters.

Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said that the Almighty Allah will order a caller on the Day of Judgment to call out for the poor ones. Some people will stand up and they will be ordered to go to Paradise. When they reach the door of Paradise, they will be asked, “Do you want to go to Paradise even before accounting of deeds?” They will reply, “Were we given something whose account we should give?” Almighty Allah will say, “My servants! You are right. I didn’t give you poverty to disgrace you but for this day. Go among the people and see. Whoever did good to you, hold his hand and make him enter Paradise along with you.”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: No worshiper will have believed until I am more beloved to him than himself, and my family is more beloved to him than his family, and my progeny is more beloved to him than his progeny, and my essence is more beloved to him than his essence. He said: So, a man from the community said: O Aba `Abd al-Rahman! You did not stop from bringing this hadith by which Allah has enlivened our hearts.
