Hadith.65 - It was narrated that
Abu Al-Hasan Imam Ali ibn Musa Ar-Ridha (as) would awaken from his sleep, perform ablution, and not perform istinja. He expressed astonishment at a man whom he referred to, saying, "I have heard that when he passes gas, he performs istinja."
65 - وَ رُوِيَ
أَنَّ أَبَا اَلْحَسَنِ اَلرِّضَا عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ كَانَ يَسْتَيْقِظُ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ فَيَتَوَضَّأُ وَ لاَ يَسْتَنْجِي وَقَالَ كَالْمُتَعَجِّبِ مِنْ رَجُلٍ سَمَّاهُ «بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ إِذَا خَرَجَتْ مِنْهُ رِيحٌ اِسْتَنْجَى.

Hadith.4910 - Imam Abu al-Hasan Musa ibn Ja'far (peace be upon them) said: "A man's family are his captives. So, whoever Allah (swt) blesses with a blessing, let him expand (his provision) upon his captives (family). If he does not, that blessing is close to being taken away."
4910 - وَ قَالَ أَبُو اَلْحَسَنِ مُوسَى بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِمَا اَلسَّلاَمُ : "عِيَالُ اَلرَّجُلِ أُسَرَاؤُهُ فَمَنْ أَنْعَمَ اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ نِعْمَةً فَلْيُوَسِّعْ عَلَى أُسَرَائِهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ أَوْشَكَ أَنْ تَزُولَ تِلْكَ اَلنِّعْمَةُ".

And whatever is narrated from Salamah ibn Al-Khaṭṭab, I have narrated it from my father and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Saʿd ibn Abdullah, from Salamah ibn Al-Khaṭṭab Al-Barawastani.

Imam Kazim (a.s) said: “God created the intellect, then He said: “Come forward, and go back.” It came forward and went back. Then God said: “I swear by My Majesty and Honor that I have not created anything better and dearer than you. I will question through you, and I will forgive through you.”
قال أبو الحسن (عليه السلام): إن الله خلق العقل، فقال له: أقبل وأدبر، فأقبل وأدبر، فقال: وعزتي ما خلقت شيئا أحسن منك وأحب إلي منك، بك آخذ وبك أعطي.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa who has said the following
“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about performing Salat (prayer) in complete form and fasting in the two al-Haram (the sacred places); Masjid al-Haram and Masjid of al-Madinah. He (the Imam) said, ‘You should perform Salat (prayer) in complete form, even if it is one Salat (prayer).”’
2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنْ إِتْمَامِ الصَّلاةِ وَالصِّيَامِ فِي الْحَرَمَيْنِ فَقَالَ أَتِمَّهَا وَلَوْ صَلاةً وَاحِدَةً.

4. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa who has said the following
“Once I was in the presence of abu al-Hassan (a.s.) and a man said, ‘Please teach me good advice.’ The Imam said, ‘Control your tongue and you will be respected and do not allow people to lead you to humiliation.’”
4ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى قَالَ
حَضَرْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ صَلَوَاتُ الله عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ أَوْصِنِي فَقَالَ لَهُ احْفَظْ لِسَانَكَ تُعَزَّ وَلا تُمَكِّنِ النَّاسَ مِنْ قِيَادِكَ فَتُذِلَّ رَقَبَتَكَ‏.

6. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Isma’il ibn Marrar from Mubarak al-‘Aqarqufiy who has said the following
“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, has made zakat as means of living for the needy and to increase your properties.’”
6ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مَرَّارٍ عَنْ مُبَارَكٍ الْعَقَرْقُوفِيِّ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) إِنَّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَضَعَ الزَّكَاةَ قُوتاً لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَتَوْفِيراً لأَمْوَالِكُمْ.

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Safwan ibn Yahya who has narrated the following
“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about the case of a man who swears but his mind is on something other than that for which he has taken the oath. He (the Imam) said, ‘Swearing is for that which is in one’s mind.’”
3- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَحْلِفُ وَضَمِيرُهُ عَلَى غَيْرِ مَا حَلَفَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ الْيَمِينُ عَلَى الضَّمِيرِ.

Hadith.2778 - Ibn Abi Umayr narrated from Hafs ibn al-Bukhtari, from Abu al-Hasan (as), regarding performing the tawaf early before going to Mina. Imam (as) said
"It is the same, whether he delays it or performs it earlier."
2778 - وَ رَوَى اِبْنُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ اَلْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي اَلْحَسَنِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : فِي تَعْجِيلِ اَلطَّوَافِ قَبْلَ اَلْخُرُوجِ إِلَى مِنًى فَقَالَ
«هُمَا سَوَاءٌ أَخَّرَ ذَلِكَ أَوْ قَدَّمَهُ ».

1. From the previous chain from al-Hassan from Shu’aib al-’Aqraqufi from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said
Whoever recites Surah Teen in his obligatory and recommended prayers would be given a place in Paradise of his liking, if Allah wills.
بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ شُعَیْبٍ الْعَقَرْقُوفِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ
مَنْ قَرَأَ وَ التِّینِ فِی فَرَائِضِهِ وَ نَوَافِلِهِ أُعْطِیَ مِنَ الْجَنَّهِ حَیْثُ یَرْضَی إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ.

8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Nasr that Abul Hasan (as) said, "
In the case of a virgin, her remaining quiet is her permission, and a woman for her second marriage has her own command and power of decision making."
8- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فِي الْمَرْأَةِ الْبِكْرِ إِذْنُهَا صُمَاتُهَا وَالثَّيِّبِ أَمْرُهَا إِلَيْهَا .

5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from al-Fadl ibn Yunus who has said the following
“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘A slave is not obligated to perform al-Hajj or al-‘Umrah until he is free.’”
5ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ يُونُسَ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
لَيْسَ عَلَى الْمَمْلُوكِ حَجٌّ وَلا عُمْرَةٌ حَتَّى يُعْتَقَ.

23. Ahmad ibn al-Hassan has narrated from Ali ibn al-Nu’man from Sa‘d ibn ‘Abd Allah who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of my eating ostrich eggs in al-Haram (the sacred area). He (the Imam) said, ‘You must give its price in charity.’”
23ـ أَحْمَدُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الله قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنْ بَيْضَةِ نَعَامَةٍ أَكَلْتُ فِي الْحَرَمِ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِثَمَنِهَا.

Hadith.3346 - It is narrated from Ali ibn Yaqtin, from Abu al-Hasan al-Awwal (as), who said
"There is no issue with bearing witness to a woman's acknowledgment (confession) without her unveiling her face, as long as she is identified either by her specific features or in the presence of someone who recognizes her."
3346 - رُوِيَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَقْطِينٍ عَنْ أَبِي اَلْحَسَنِ اَلْأَوَّلِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
"لاَ بَأْسَ بِالشَّهَادَةِ عَلَى إِقْرَارِ اَلْمَرْأَةِ وَ لَيْسَتْ بِمُسْفِرَةٍ إِذَا عُرِفَتْ بِعَيْنِهَا أَوْ يَحْضُرُ مَنْ عَرَفَهَا ".

24. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from certain ones of our people from Ayyub ibn Nuh from abu a1-Hassan, the third, (a.s.) who has said the following.
“When your knowledge that is with you will banish then expect glad news to emerge beneath your feet.”
24ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ نُوحٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الثَّالِثِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
إِذَا رُفِعَ عِلْمُكُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَظْهُرِكُمْ فَتَوَقَّعُوا الْفَرَجَ مِنْ تَحْتِ أَقْدَامِكُمْ.

19. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from al-Hassan from certain persons of his people who has said the following
“About the case of a woman who accuses her husband who is speechless, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘They are separated from each other and he is not lawful for her forever.’”
عَنْهُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) فِي امْرَأَةٍ قَذَفَتْ زَوْجَهَا وَ هُوَ أَصَمُّ قَالَ
يُفَرَّقُ بَيْنَهَا وَ بَيْنَهُ وَ لَا تَحِلُّ لَهُ أَبَداً .

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya and others have narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad from al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan al-Lu’lu’i through his chain of narrators has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘All water is clean until it is found out that it is not clean.”’
2ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ اللُّؤْلُؤِيِّ بِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) الْمَاءُ كُلُّهُ طَاهِرٌ حَتَّى يُعْلَمَ أَنَّهُ قَذِرٌ.

5. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from al-Hassan from Safwan from Musa ibn Bakr from Zurarah who has narrated the following
“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not go to bed with a (underage) girl before she becomes nine or ten years old.’”
5- عَنْهُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
لا يُدْخَلُ بِالْجَارِيَةِ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَ لَهَا تِسْعُ سِنِينَ أَوْ عَشْرُ سِنِينَ.

5- الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُبْغِضُ الْقِيلَ وَالْقَالَ وَإِضَاعَةَ الْمَالِ وَكَثْرَةَ السُّؤَالِ.

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Be pious before Allah and protect your religion by means of restraint from worldly matters (sins).’”
2ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ حَدِيدِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ اتَّقُوا الله وَصُونُوا دِينَكُمْ بِالْوَرَعِ.
