Imam Baqir (a.s) quoted on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s)
“I am amazed at believers, since whatever God determines for them is good, whether it pleases them or upsets them. If God sends a calamity down upon a believer, it is penalty for his sins. If God gives him something and honors him, it is a gift.”
عن أبي جعفر (عليه السلام) قال
قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): عجبا للمؤمن، إن الله لا يقضي عليه قضاء إلا كان خيرا له، سره ذلك أم ساءه، وإن ابتلاه كان كفارة لذنبه، وإن أعطاه وأكرمه فقد حباه.

hadith 1364
3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Ash‘ariy from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, when drinking milk would say, ‘O Lord, make it a blessing for us and increase it for us.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا شَرِبَ اللَّبَنَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَ زِدْنَا مِنْهُ .

3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja‘far ibn Muhammad al-Ash‘ariy from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When one of you wears his shoes he must wear on the right foot first then the left foot, when taking off you should remove from the left before the right.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا لَبِسَ أَحَدُكُمْ نَعْلَهُ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْيَمِينَ قَبْلَ الْيَسَارِ وَ إِذَا خَلَعَهَا فَلْيَخْلَعِ الْيُسْرَى قَبْلَ الْيُمْنَى .

2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ya’qub ibn Yazid from Ja’far al-Ahwal from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa who has said the following
“I once asked al-Rida’ (a.s.), about a man who receives an amount to perform al-Hajj but he gives it to someone else. He (the Imam) said, ’It is not harmful.’”
2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ الأَحْوَلِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى قَالَ
قُلْتُ لأَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) مَا تَقُولُ فِي الرَّجُلِ يُعْطَى الْحَجَّةَ فَيَدْفَعُهَا إِلَى غَيْرِهِ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِهِ.

2. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn Mahziyar from who has said the following
“We had a girl whose Hayd (menses) would not stop and she was about to die. Abu Ja’far (a.s.), instructed to make her drink sawiq of lintels. She used the drink, the bleeding stopped and she was cured.’”
وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَهْزِيَارَ قَالَ
إِنَّ جَارِيَةً لَنَا أَصَابَهَا الْحَيْضُ وَ كَانَ لَا يَنْقَطِعُ عَنْهَا حَتَّى أَشْرَفَتْ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ فَأَمَرَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) أَنْ تُسْقَى سَوِيقَ الْعَدَسِ فَسُقِيَتْ فَانْقَطَعَ عَنْهَا وَ عُوفِيَتْ .

12. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ibn ‘Udhaynah from Zurara from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following
“The Messenger of Allah once said to ‘A’ishah, ‘O ‘A’ishah, had foul language had a form and shape it would have been a very ugly form and shape.”
12ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) لِعَائِشَةَ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ الْفُحْشَ لَوْ كَانَ مُمَثَّلاً لَكَانَ مِثَالَ سَوْءٍ.

Hadith.1994 - It was narrated by Ibn Muskan from Muhammad ibn Ja'far: "
I said to Abu al-Hasan (as): 'My wife took upon herself to fast for two months, but she gave birth and then became pregnant again, so she was unable to fast.' Imam (as) said: 'She should give in charity for each day a mudd (measure) to a poor person.'"
1994 - وَ رَوَى اِبْنُ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي اَلْحَسَنِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ إِنَّ اِمْرَأَتِي جَعَلَتْ عَلَى نَفْسِهَا صَوْمَ شَهْرَيْنِ فَوَضَعَتْ وَلَدَهَا وَ أَدْرَكَهَا اَلْحَبَلُ فَلَمْ تَقْدِرْ عَلَى اَلصَّوْمِ قَالَ «فَلْتَصَدَّقْ مَكَانَ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ بِمُدٍّ عَلَى مِسْكِينٍ ».

1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakil who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ja’far from Sahl b. Ziyad from Ya’qub b. Yazid from Muhammad b. Hamzah from the one the person that narrated to him from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said
“One who meets a Hajj pilgrim and shakes hands with him is as if he has kissed Hajar-e-Aswad.”
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِیَادٍ عَنْ یَعْقُوبَ بْنِ یَزِیدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَمْزَهَ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ
مَنْ لَقِیَ حَاجّاً فَصَافَحَهُ کَانَ کَمَنِ اسْتَلَمَ الْحَجَرَ.

9. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad and a number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad all from Ali ibn Mahziyar from Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl who has said the following
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the case of a child when he is made to assume the state of Ihram? He (the Imam) said, ‘When he safeguards and protects.’”
9ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ جَمِيعاً عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَهْزِيَارَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ الثَّانِيَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنِ الصَّبِيِّ مَتَى يُحْرَمُ بِهِ قَالَ إِذَا اثَّغَرَ.

3. A group of our scholars narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Mu’āwiyah ibn Ḥukaym, from ‘Abdil Raḥmān ibn Abī Najrān, who said
I asked Abā Ja’far (Imam Jawād (a.s.)) about the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) with the (sole) intention of Ziyārah. Imam (a.s.) replied, “(Their reward is) Paradise.”
3 حَدَّثَنِي جَمَاعَةٌ مِنْ مَشَايِخِنَا عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حُكَيْمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (ع) عَمَّنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ النَّبِيِّ (ص) قَاصِداً قَالَ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ

hadith 1741
Hadith.4950 - Aban ibn Uthman narrated from al-Fudayl ibn Yasar, who said
I heard Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) say: "Whoever drinks alcohol and becomes intoxicated by it, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days. And if he abandons prayer during these days, his punishment will be doubled for neglecting the prayer."
4950 - وَ رَوَى أَبَانُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنِ اَلْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ يَقُولُ: "مَنْ شَرِبَ اَلْخَمْرَ فَسَكِرَ مِنْهَا لَمْ تُقْبَلْ لَهُ صَلاَةٌ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْماً فَإِنْ تَرَكَ اَلصَّلاَةَ فِي هَذِهِ اَلْأَيَّامِ ضُوعِفَ عَلَيْهِ اَلْعَذَابُ لِتَرْكِهِ اَلصَّلاَةَ".

1. My father (rh) said that 'Abdullah bin Ja'far narrated to me, from Muhammad bin 'Isa, form al-Qasim bin Yahya, from his grandfather al-Hasan bin Rashid, from Abi Basir, form Abu 'Abdillah (a.s.) who said
"Amir al-Mu'mineen (a.s.) said, “Noorah is an amulet and purity for the body.”"
1- أَبِی ره حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ یَحْیَی عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ
قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع النُّورَهُ نُشْرَهٌ وَ طَهُورٌ لِلْجَسَدِ.

Hadith.5892 - Ibn Muskan narrated from Abdullah ibn Abi Ya'fur that Ja'far ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said to a man
"Make your heart a companion you engage with, make your knowledge a guide you follow, make your soul an enemy you struggle against, and consider your wealth as a loan that you will return."
5892 - وَ رَوَى اِبْنُ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ قَالَ
قَالَ اَلصَّادِقُ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ لِرَجُلٍ "اِجْعَلْ قَلْبَكَ قَرِيناً تُزَاوِلُهُ وَ اِجْعَلْ عِلْمَكَ وَالِداً تَتَّبِعُهُ وَ اِجْعَلْ نَفْسَكَ عَدُوّاً تُجَاهِدُهُ وَ اِجْعَلْ مَالَكَ كَعَارِيَّةٍ تَرُدُّهَا".

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr and A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn abu Nasr all from Jamil ibn Darraj from Zurarah who has said the following
“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘Al-Qur’ is the period between two Hayd (menses).”’
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ وَ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ جَمِيعاً عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
الْقُرْءُ هُوَ مَا بَيْنَ الْحَيْضَتَيْنِ .

10. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn Ali al-Sindiy from Muhammad ibn ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from a man from ibn abu Ya‘fur who has said the following
“I once heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.), saying, ‘Beware of red camels because the life of such camels is the shortest.’”
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ السِّنْدِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِيَّاكُمْ وَ الْإِبِلَ الْحُمْرَ فَإِنَّهَا أَقْصَرُ الْإِبِلِ أَعْمَاراً .

28. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from his father from abu Talib from Yunus ibn Bakkar from his father from Jabir from abu Ja‘far (a.s.) who has said the following.
“If they had done what they had been advised to do (acknowledge Ali’s Leadership with Divine Authority), it would have been for their good and to strengthen their faith.” (4:66)
28ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ بَكَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ ابي جعفر (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ
فَعَلُوا ما يُوعَظُونَ بِهِ فِي عَلِيٍّ لَكانَ خَيْراً لَهُمْ.

[1562/1] al-Kafi: Abu Ali al-Ash’ari from Muhammad b. Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from Ishaq b. Ammar from Abi Basir from Abi Ja’far عليه السلام who said
The Qur’an came down as four fourths: A quarter concerning us, a quarter concerning our enemies, a quarter is Sunan (Precedents) and Amthāl (Similitudes), and a quarter is Farāʾiḍ (Obligations) and Aḥkām (Rulings)
[1562/1] الكافي: أبوعلي الاشعري، عن محمد بن عبدالجبار، عن صفوان، عن إسحاق بن عمار، عن أبي بصير، عن أبي جعفر عليه السلام قال
نزل القرآن أربعة أرباع: ربع فينا وربع في عدونا وربع سنن وأمثال وربع فرائض وأحكام

Hadith.5866 - Muhammad ibn Sinan narrated from Al-Mufaddal ibn Umar, who said that Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as), peace be upon him, said
"Whoever does not have an inner advisor from his heart, a restrainer from his own soul, and a guiding companion, his enemy will easily gain control over him."
5866 - وَ رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ عَنِ اَلْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
قَالَ اَلصَّادِقُ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : "مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَاعِظٌ مِنْ قَلْبِهِ وَ زَاجِرٌ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ قَرِينٌ مُرْشِدٌ اِسْتَمْكَنَ عَدُوُّهُ مِنْ عُنُقِهِ".

Hadith.5721 - Muhammad ibn Sinan narrated from Abdur Rahman ibn Aʿyan from Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) regarding a Christian man who dies leaving behind a Muslim son. Imam (as) said
"Indeed, Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, has only increased us in honor through Islam. Therefore, we inherit from them, but they do not inherit from us."
5721 - وَ رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اَلرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : فِي اَلنَّصْرَانِيِّ يَمُوتُ وَ لَهُ اِبْنٌ مُسْلِمٌ قَالَ
"إِنَّ اَللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَمْ يَزِدْنَا بِالْإِسْلاَمِ إِلاَّ عِزّاً فَنَحْنُ نَرِثُهُمْ وَ لاَ يَرِثُونَّا".

9. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn Sinan from ‘Amr ibn al-Afraq from abu ‘Ubaydah from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following
“It is a good idea for the believers to shake each other’s hands after one of them remains out of sight, even because of a tree in between.”
9ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الأفْرَقِ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
يَنْبَغِي لِلْمُؤْمِنَيْنِ إِذَا تَوَارَى أَحَدُهُمَا عَنْ صَاحِبِهِ بِشَجَرَةٍ ثُمَّ الْتَقَيَا أَنْ يَتَصَافَحَا.
