Word of Allah, the Mighty and High, "(Some) faces on that day shall be bright, looking to their Lord" (75:22-23) mean that “They will be illuminated, anxiously awaiting the reward from their Lord.”

`Ali b. Musa al-Rida (as) said, regarding the saying of Allah, "The faces on that day will be bright, looking at their Lord" (75:22-23). He said: Meaning, [their faces will be] illuminated, looking at the rewards of their Lord.

“People are in four groups: ignorant people who get ruined by obeying their whims; haughty worshippers who get haughtier as they worship more; scholars who want to have more followers and be admired; and knowledgeable ones on the right path who wish to follow that path but cannot. The last group are the best people in your era and they have the most wisdom.”

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘’Amir al-Mu’minin was very similar to the Messenger of Allah in eating. He would eat bread with vinegar and oil and feed people bread and meat.’”

he heard abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) say the following. “ ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz wrote ibn Hazm. He then have narrated a hadith similar to the above one except that he has said, “Ibn Hazm sent to Zayd ibn al-Hassan who was older than my father.” A number of our people has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ a similar hadith.

“Ali ibn Musa Al-Ridha (s) said the following regarding the Words of the Sublime God, ‘Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty) looking towards their Lord.’ This means that these faces will be shining awaiting the reward of their Lord.”

I heard Abu Abdullah (asws) saying: ‘Ali (asws) was the most similar to the Rasool Allah (saww) in the partaking of food and manners. And he (asws) used to eat the bread and the oil whilst (he (asws) would feed) the people with the bread and the meat’. He (asws) said: ‘Ali (asws) used to fetch the water and the firewood, and Fatima (sa) used to grind, and knead, and bake, and stitch. She (asws) was of the most beautiful of face from the people, with cheeks like two roses, may Greetings be upon her (asws), and upon her (asws) father (saww), and her (asws) husband (asws), and her (asws) purified children (asws)’.

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: Those who want to live like me, die like me, enter the forever green Paradise, and hold on to the tree that my Lord has planted with His own hands, should follow ‘Ali (a.s.) and the successors after him and should submit to (believing in) their virtues. Verily they are the guides with whom Allāh is pleased. He has given them my knowledge and my understanding. They are my descendants who are from my flesh and blood. I complain to Allāh about their enemies from my nation, about those who deny their virtues, and about those who abandon me by (oppressing) them. I swear to Allāh that they will kill my son. May Allāh exclude them from my intercession.

he heard abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) say the following. “’Umar ibn ‘ad al-‘Aziz wrote ibn Hazm to send him the endowment documents of Ali, ‘Umar and ‘Uthman. Inb Hazm sent a person to Zayd ibn al-Hassan (a.s.) who was the eldest among them and asked him about the documents. Zayd said, “The high authority after Ali was al-Hassan and after him al-Husayn and Ali ibn al-Husayn was after al-Husayn and after Ali ibn al-Husayn Muhammad ibn Ali was the high authority. Send to him. Ibn Hazm then sent to my father and my father sent me with document to him and I went and delivered it to ibn Hazm.” The narrator has said that some of our people asked The Imam (a.s.), “did the sons of al-Hassan (a.s.) know this.” The Imam (a.s.) said, “They knew it just as they know that this is night but envy influences them. Had they sought truth with truth it would have been better for them but they seek the worldly things. * Abu Baker ibn Muhammad ibn ’Amr ibn Hazm al-Ansari (37/657 -120/738), the judge of Madina from 87/706 appointed by ‘Umar ibn ‘Abdi al-‘Aziz when he was governor of Madina. When ‘Umar became the Caliph he also appointed ibn Hazm governor of Madina. (al-Tabari, vol.2, pp.ll91, 1255, 1305, 1346, 1372 - 1375, 1437, 1452; vol.3, p.2460; ibn al-Athir, vol.5, pp.55,67; Tahdhib al-Takdhib, vol.l2, pp.38 -40.

When the Honorable the Exalted God created Paradise, He created it from the Light of the Throne. Then God took some of that Light and spread it. I received one-third of that Light. One-third of it reached Fatimah (MGB). One-third reached Ali (MGB) and the members of his household (MGB). Whoever is touched by this Light shall fall in love with the Household of Muhammad. Whoever is untouched by this Light is in darkness being outside the friendship of the Household of Muhammad.”

They are the guided ones.” Then at the end he said, “I wonder about Muhammad ibn Ja’far (Imam Sadiq’s son) and his revolt having heard these from his father (s).’ “ Then he added, “These are God’s Secrets, His Religion and the Religion of His angels. Then guard it against those to whom it does not belong.”

I heard Abu Ubaidullah, the client of al-Abbas reporting to Abu Ja’far Muhammad ibn ‘Ali, peace be upon him, saying: I heard Abu Saeed al-Khudari say: The last sermon addressed by the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, was the one addressed to us during the illness in which he died. He came out leaning upon ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib peace be upon him, and his maid Maymoonah. He sat on the pulpit and said: "O people! I am leaving behind among you two weighty things." Then he remained silent. A man stood up and said: "O messenger of Allah! What are these two weighty things?" The Prophet was upset till his face turned red and then it subsided. He said: "I did not mention them except with an intention to inform you, but you were in a haste, so I could not. It is a medium whose one end is with Allah, and the other end is in your hands, with whom you will do such a such thing. Be it known; they are the Qur’an and the smaller weighty thing, my Ahlul Bayt." Then he said: "By Allah, I am saying this to you while I pin more hope on the unborn progeny of the infidels than upon most of you." And then he said: "By Allah, whoever loves them, Allah will bless them with a light on the Day of Judgement, till they arrive near me at the Pool. And whoever hates them, Allah will keep them away from Him on the Day of Judgement." Abu Ja’far said: "Surely, Abu Ubaidullah has brought to us that of which he is aware."

Ali ibn Musa ibn Ja’far Al-Ridha (MGB) regarding what is said about the Al-Aftas clan. The Imam (MGB) said, “The Honorable the Exalted God brought about twelve clans from the Children of Israel - that is Jacob the son of Isaac the son of Abraham (MGB). God established Prophethood and the Book amongst them. God also generated twelve clans from the progeny of Al-Hassan (MGB) and Al-Hussein (MGB) - the sons of the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (MGB) and the Blessed Fatimah (MGB) who was the daughter of God’s Prophet (MGB).” Then the Imam (MGB) added by naming the twelve clans from the Children of Israel as follows, “Reuben - the son of Jacob; Simeon - the son of Jacob; Judah - the son of Jacob; Isaac - the son of Jacob; Zebulun - the son of Jacob; Joseph - the son of Jacob; Benjamin - the son of Jacob; Naphtali - the son of Jacob; Dan - the son of Jacob.”He (MGB) added, “And six clans were brought about from the progeny of Al-Hassan (MGB). They are the clan of Al-Hassan ibn Zayd ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali; the clan of Abdullah ibn al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali; the clan of Ibrahim ibn al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali; the clan of Al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali; the clan of Davood ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali; and the clan of Ja’far ibn al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali. All the progeny of Al-Hassan ibn Ali (MGB) come from them. Then he (MGB) counted the clans brought about from Al-Hussein ibn Ali (MGB) as follows: the clan of Muhammad ibn Ali al-Baqir ibn Ali ibn al-Hussein; the clan of Abdullah ibn al-Bahir ibn Ali; the clan of Zayd ibn Ali ibn al-Hussein; the clan of Al-Hussein ibn Ali ibn al-Hussein ibn Ali; the clan of Umar ibn Ali ibn al-Hussein ibn Ali; and the clan of Ali ibn Ali ibn al-Hussein ibn Ali. These are the six clans which the Honorable the Exalted God brought about from Al-Hussein ibn Ali (MGB).”
