“I saw abu Ja’far (a.s.), had applied hair dye with henna of red color.’”

“Ja‘far, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that his father (a.s.), has said, ‘A third Adhan on Friday is a heretical invention.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘The ordained shares do not face deficiency.”’

“One of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘The free and slaves do not inherit each other.’”

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Giving charity pays off debts and leaves behind blessings.’”

“About the case of a woman whose husband has died, one of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said that her maintenance must be paid from her husband’s assets.’”

“Arrange for a good burial shroud for the dead among you and shroud them well for the shroud is the only embellishment for them.”

Seeking knowledge is obligatory.”

“I heard abu Ja’far (a.s.), say when prostrating, ‘(O Lord,) I plead before You through the right of Muhammad, Your beloved one, to change my bad deeds to good ones and hold my accountability very little. In the second prostration said, ‘(O Lord,) I plead before You through the right of Muhammad, Your beloved one, to suffice me in (my) needs in this world and all frightening matters up to paradise. In the third sajdah said, ‘(O Lord,) I plead before You through the right of Muhammad, Your beloved one, to forgive my sins, be it a great deal or a smaller amount and accept my very few (good deeds). In the fourth sajdah he said, ‘(O Lord,) I plead before You through the right of Muhammad, Your beloved one, to admit me in paradise, make me of its dwellers, save me from the effect of fire through Your mercy, and, O Allah, grant Muhammad and his family a compensation worthy of their serving Your cause.”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ubaydullah ibn Ali Al-Halabi has been transmitted by me from my father and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them both - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah and Al-Himyari together, from Ahmad and Abdullah, the sons of Muhammad ibn 'Isa, from Muhammad ibn Abi 'Umayr, from Hammad ibn 'Uthman, from Ubaydullah ibn Ali Al-Halabi. I have also narrated it from my father, from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan, and from Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Masrur - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them all - from Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn 'Amir, from his uncle Abdullah ibn 'Amir, from Muhammad ibn Abi 'Umayr, from Hammad ibn 'Uthman, from Ubaydullah ibn Ali Al-Halabi.

And whatever is narrated from Muhammad ibn Ismaʿil Al-Barmaki, I have narrated it from Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Musa, and Muhammad ibn Ahmad Al-Sanani, and Al-Husayn ibn Ibrahim ibn Ahmad ibn Hisham Al-Maktab - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Muhammad ibn Abi Abdillah Al-Kufi, from Muhammad ibn Ismaʿil Al-Barmaki.

“There are two groups on whose behalf I shall not intercede: friends of oppressive kings and those who transgress beyond the religion due to their being excessively religious.”

The narrator has said, “I asked him about what is taken out of the sea, such as pearls, ruby and chrysolite and minerals such as gold and silver and others as to how much is al-Khums on them?” The Imam (a.s.) said, “If it would value up to a Dinar then al-Khums is due on it.”

“A single scholar is better than one thousand worshippers and one thousand people who repent. If people benefit from the knowledge of a scholar he is better than seventy thousand worshippers.”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Muhammad ibn Khalid Al-Qasri has been transmitted by me from Jafar ibn Muhammad ibn Masrur - may Allah (swt) have mercy on him - from Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn Amir, from his uncle Abdullah ibn Amir, from Hafsah, from Muhammad ibn Khalid ibn Abdullah Al-Bajali Al-Qasri, who was an Arab from Kufa.

“Once Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) said, ‘O Husayn, tapping his hand on a cushion in the house, saying, ‘Cushions on which for a long time angels have been leaning and perhaps we pick up some of their fluff around.”

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Whatever you gain by means of assets, pay Zakat thereof and whatever you receive as inheritance or gift, pay Zakat thereof after a year passes.’”

“I asked al-Rida (a.s.) about the words of Allah. “(Muhammad), tell them, “To be happy with the favors and mercy of God is better than whatever you accumulate.” (10:58) The Imam (a.s.) said, “To acknowledge the Wilaya of the family of Muhammad (s.a.) is better than all that they accumulate of the worldly gains.”

“I heard abu Ja’far (a.s.) saying, ‘If one learns that there is a certain reward from Allah for a certain act and he performs such act to receive such reward, he will be given the reward even if, in fact, the Hadith may not be as such that has come to him.’”
