"People have been commanded to come to these stones, to circumambulate around them, and then come to us to inform us of their allegiance and present their support to us."

“Clay of the grave of al-Husayn (a.s.), can be taken from within a seventy square yard area.”

Performing four ‘Umrah is equal to performing a Hajj, and going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) is equal to performing an ‘Umrah.

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘People are commanded to come to these stones, perform Tawaf, thereafter come to us to inform us of their acceptance of our Divine Authority and offer us their support. ‘“

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Do not neglect going to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.). Do you not like to be among those for whom the angels pray?!

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh will register those who go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) knowing his rights among those (who will be) in A’lā ‘Illīyyīn.

Muḥammad ibn ‘Ali, son of Ḥanafiyyah, used to go to the grave of Ḥasan ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) and recite (the following): Salām to you, O son of the Commander of the Believers and son of the first Muslim! And how can you be anything other than this, for you are the son of the (Prophet of) guidance, you are (the most) devoted to piety, and you are one of the five Asḥāb Al-Kisā (people of the cloak). You were fed by the hands of mercy, you were raised in the lap of Islam, and you were nursed from the bosom of faith. You were blessed when you were alive and you are blessed after your death, except that our souls are miserable in being separated from you. However, we do not have any doubts that you are alive. May Allāh’s Mercy be upon you. Then he would look at Ḥusain (a.s.) and say, “O Abā ‘Abdillāh! May Salām be upon Abī Muḥammad (Imam Ḥasan (a.s.))!”

“One who goes for Ziyarat of Imam Husain (a.s.) knowing his right, the Almighty Allah forgives all his sins from beginning till the end.”

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: Those who come to my Ziyārah after my death are like those who have come to visit me during my life, and I will be their witness and their intercessor on the Day of Judgment.

I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: On the Day of ‘Arafah, Allāh looks toward the Zuwwār of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) and says, “Return with your past sins forgiven.” (Moreover) no sins will be registered for them for up to seventy days after they return.

if a person does the Ziyarat of Imam Husain (a.s.) on the day of Arafah, the Almighty Allah would send that person back with tranquility of heart.

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said to Kirām ibn ‘Amr: When you want to go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), go to his Ziyārah while you are saddened, grief-stricken, disheveled, and covered with dust, for verily Ḥusain (a.s.) was killed while he was saddened, grief-stricken, disheveled, covered with dust, thirsty, and hungry.

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Verily (on the Day of ‘Arafah), Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, manifests (His Mercy) to the Zuwwār of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) before He does (so) to the people who are in ‘Arafāt. He fulfils their needs, forgives their sins, and accepts their intercession for their requests, and thereafter He attends to the people in ‘Arafāt and honours them in the same way.

I heard a man ask Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “When I go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), can I pray toward Qiblah facing the grave?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Move to the side a little.”

28. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says, “The Almighty Allah showers mercy on the people gathered at the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.) before the people gathered in Arafat on the day of Arafah. He fulfils their wishes, forgives their sins, grant them solutions to their problems then looks at the people of Arafah and grants all these bounties to them also.”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sadiq (a.s.)) said: Verily (on the Day of ‘Arafah), Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, manifests (His Mercy) to the Zuwwār of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) before He does (so) for the people who are in ‘Arafāt. He fulfils their needs, forgives their sins, and accepts their intercession for their requests. Thereafter, He attends to the people in ‘Arafāt and honours them in the same way.

‘Ali, (the Commander of the Believers (a.s.)), said: May I sacrifice my father and mother for Ḥusain who will be killed on the outskirts of Kūfah. I swear to Allāh that it is as if I can see the different kinds of wild animals stretching their necks to his grave, crying and weeping over him throughout the night until dawn. When this happens, beware of neglecting him (his grave).

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said, “Going to the Ziyārah (of Ḥusain (a.s.)) is better than not going. (However, sometimes) not going to (his) Ziyārah is better than going.” I said, “You broke my back!!!” Imam (a.s.) said: By Allāh! When you people go to the graves of your fathers you are anguished and grieved. However, when you go to him (Ḥusain (a.s.)) you carry different kinds of food with you. No! (It is better not to go to him) unless you go disheveled and covered with dust.

“Once ‘Umar ibn yazid came to me and said, “Ride with us and rode with them and went until we came to the house of Hafs al-Kunasi. He took him also with us and we continued the journey until we arrived at al-Ghari and to the grave. He said, “dismount, this is the grave of Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (a.s.).” We asked him, “How did you find out?” He said, “I have come here several times with abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) when he was in al-Hira and he told me that this is his (Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (a.s.) grave.”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said, “Going to the Ziyārah (of Ḥusain (a.s.)) is better than not going.
