The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Every son of Adam is a sinner, but the best of the sinners are the penitent ones.

The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Truly the son of Adam covets what is prohibited.

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The age up to which Allah accepts the excuse of His servants for certain things is sixty years.

Imam Ali ibn al-Hussein (a.s) said: “O' children of Adam! As long as you watch over your soul, and you are worried about being accountable for your deeds, and fear of God covers you up as your underclothes do, you will be prosperous. You will die, and will be resurrected and questioned in front of God. Therefore prepare yourself for the reckoning.”

192. Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: O son of Adam, whatever you earn beyond your basic needs you are only a treasurer of it for others.

“O' children of Adam! As long as you use your soul as an advisor to you, you are worried about being accountable for your deeds, and fear of God covers you up as your clothes do, and sorrow covers you up as your underclothes do, you will be prosperous. O' Children of Adam! You will die, and will be resurrected and brought in the court of God where you will be questioned. Therefore prepare yourselves to answer.”

“I heard Abil Hassan Al-Ridha (s) say, ‘There are forty-thousand gates to prayer.’”

25. Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: O son of Adam, when you see that your Lord, the Glorified, bestows His favours on you while you are disobeying Him, you should fear Him. [1]

The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘It is evil enough for the son of Adam to scorn his fellow Muslim brother.

Imam Ali (AS) said, The age up to which Allah, the Glorified, accepts the excuse of human beings and warns them is sixty years.

"Jibril (as) descended upon Adam (as) and said: 'O' Adam, I have been commanded to offer you a choice among three things, so choose one and leave the other two.' Adam (as) asked: 'What are those three things?' Jibril (as) replied: 'Intellect, modesty, and religion.' Adam (as) said: 'I choose intellect.' So Jibril (as) said to modesty and religion: 'Depart from him.' They both replied: 'O' Jibril, we have been commanded to remain with intellect wherever it is.' Jibril (as) said: 'Then it is your affair,' and he ascended."

I said to al-Rida, peace be upon him: O son of Allah’s Messenger, inform me about the Tree from which Adam and Hawwa’ ate, what was it? For certainly, the people have differed about him, for among them are those who narrate that it was wheat, and among them are those who narrate that it was grape, and among them are those who narrate that it was the Tree of Jealousy. Then he said: All of that is true. I said: Then what is the meaning of these indications, with their differences? Then he said: O Abu’l-Silt, indeed, the Tree of the Garden carries several types. Hence, it was a tree of wheat, and in it was grape, and it is not like the tree of this world. Indeed, when Adam, peace be upon him, was honored by Allah, Exalted be His Mentioning, by making the prostration of His Angels to him and by making him enter the Garden, he said in himself: Did Allah create a human being better than me? Then Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, knew what occurred in him, so He called unto him: Raise your head, O Adam, and look at the leg of the Throne. Then Adam raised his head and looked at the leg of the Throne and found on it written: «There is no god but Allah, Muhammed is the Messenger of Allah, Ali ibn Abi Talib is the Commander of the Believers, his wife, Fatima, is the Mistress of the women of all the worlds, Hasan and Hussain are the two Masters of the young among the people of Paradise». Then Adam said: O Lord, who are these? Then He, Exalted and Glorious is He, said: O Adam, these are your offspring, and they are better than you and than all of My creation, and were it not for them, I would not have created you, nor had I created Paradise, the Fire, Heaven and earth. Hence, beware from looking at them with the eye of jealousy, lest I expel you from My Vicinity. Then he looked at them with the eye of jealousy and wished their position, and so Shaytan seized control over him to the extent that he ate from the tree which he had been forbidden from, and he seized control over Hawwa’ due to her look at Fatima with the eye of jealousy to the extent that she ate from the tree like how Adam ate. Then Allah took them out of His Garden and made them descend, away from His Vicinity, to earth.

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘O people! Indeed Adam did not beget a bondsman or bondswoman, so all people are free.

Imam Zayn al-Abidin, (AS) said, ‘O son of Adam, you will always be with the good…as long as fear [of Allah] is your motto and grief your cloak.

Imam Zayn al-Abidin (AS) said, 'Allah says, 'O son of Adam, be satisfied with what I have given you and you will be among the most abstemious of people.

"Indeed, among what was revealed in the divine revelation from the heavens is that if the son of Adam had two flowing valleys of gold and silver, he would still seek a third. O' son of Adam! Your stomach is but an ocean among oceans and a valley among valleys; nothing will fill it except dust."

Tell me, what is Abu Jaad? And what is «Huz»? And what is «Hatti»? And what is «Kalman»? And what is «Saa’fass»? And what is «Qarasht»? And what is «Katab»? Then the Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, said: As for Abu Jaad, it is the nickname of Adam, peace be upon him, he refused to eat from the tree, so he worked with effort and ate. As for «Huz» it is that he fell from the sky and descended to earth. As for «Hatti» it is that his intentional mistake encompassed . As for «Kalman» it is that he spoke to Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He. As for «Saa’fass» it is that Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, said: A Ssaa’ for a Ssaa’, as you owe, you will be owed. As for «Qarasht» it is that he admitted the misdeeds, so He forgave him. As for «Katab» it is that Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, wrote, near Himself, at the preserved Tablet before He created Adam with two thousand years: Indeed, Adam was created from soil, and Isa, peace be upon him, was created without a father. Then Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, sent down in declaring his truthfulness: «The example of Isa for Allah is like the example of Adam; He created him from soil» (3:59). Then he said: You spoke true, O Muhammed.

454. Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: What has a man to do with vanity. His origin is semen and his end is a carcass while he cannot feed himself nor ward off death. [1]

God's Prophet (a.s) said: “Most of man's mistakes are due to what he says. If you watch your tongue, God will cover up your faults.”

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘What is it with the son of Adam [human being] and pride?! His beginning is a sperm and his end is a carcass. He cannot sustain himself, nor can he repel death.
