ʿAbdullāh b. Jaʿfar b. Durustawayh narrated to me, he said: Yaʿqūb b. Sufyān said: Sulaymān b. Yaʿqūb al-Nakhaʿī used to keep to (? lie upon) the waqf.

5. From the previous chain:In another Hadith it is said that Jacob thereafter would announce around his home up to a distance of three miles every morning, “Whoever needs food, come to the house of Jacob” and in the evening also would announce, ‘Whoever needs dinner come to the house of Jacob.’”

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “Then Jacob ordered it to be announced within a distance of six kilometers that whoever wants to eat can come to dine at Jacob's house every night.”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ya'qub ibn 'Athim has been transmitted by me from Muhammad ibn Musa ibn Al-Mutawakkil - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashim, from Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr, from Ya'qub ibn 'Athim. I have also narrated it from my father - may Allah (swt) have mercy on him - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Ya'qub ibn Yazid, from Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr, from Ya'qub ibn 'Athim.

And whatever is narrated from Yusuf ibn Yaʿqub, I have narrated it from my father - may Allah (swt) have mercy on him - from Saʿd ibn Abdullah, from Muhammad ibn ʿIsa ibn Ubayd, from Muhammad ibn Sinan, from Yusuf ibn Yaʿqub, the brother of Yunus ibn Yaʿqub, and they were both Faṭhis.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said Ya’qub (a.s.), had an announcer who every morning announced from his house to three miles, ‘Those who want lunch can come to the house of Ya’qub.’ In the evening the announcement said, ’Those who want dinner can come to the house of Ya’qub.’”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Yunus ibn Ya'qub has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-Khattab, from Al-Hakam ibn Miskin, from Yunus ibn Ya'qub Al-Bajali.

27 – Isḥāq b. Muḥammad, al-Baṣrī, Abū Yaʿqūb. Corrupt in madhhab.

“If there are no people on the earth except two, one of them will the imam.”

Ali ibn Musa ibn Ja’far Al-Ridha (MGB) regarding what is said about the Al-Aftas clan. The Imam (MGB) said, “The Honorable the Exalted God brought about twelve clans from the Children of Israel - that is Jacob the son of Isaac the son of Abraham (MGB). God established Prophethood and the Book amongst them. God also generated twelve clans from the progeny of Al-Hassan (MGB) and Al-Hussein (MGB) - the sons of the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (MGB) and the Blessed Fatimah (MGB) who was the daughter of God’s Prophet (MGB).” Then the Imam (MGB) added by naming the twelve clans from the Children of Israel as follows, “Reuben - the son of Jacob; Simeon - the son of Jacob; Judah - the son of Jacob; Isaac - the son of Jacob; Zebulun - the son of Jacob; Joseph - the son of Jacob; Benjamin - the son of Jacob; Naphtali - the son of Jacob; Dan - the son of Jacob.”He (MGB) added, “And six clans were brought about from the progeny of Al-Hassan (MGB). They are the clan of Al-Hassan ibn Zayd ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali; the clan of Abdullah ibn al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali; the clan of Ibrahim ibn al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali; the clan of Al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali; the clan of Davood ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali; and the clan of Ja’far ibn al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali. All the progeny of Al-Hassan ibn Ali (MGB) come from them. Then he (MGB) counted the clans brought about from Al-Hussein ibn Ali (MGB) as follows: the clan of Muhammad ibn Ali al-Baqir ibn Ali ibn al-Hussein; the clan of Abdullah ibn al-Bahir ibn Ali; the clan of Zayd ibn Ali ibn al-Hussein; the clan of Al-Hussein ibn Ali ibn al-Hussein ibn Ali; the clan of Umar ibn Ali ibn al-Hussein ibn Ali; and the clan of Ali ibn Ali ibn al-Hussein ibn Ali. These are the six clans which the Honorable the Exalted God brought about from Al-Hussein ibn Ali (MGB).”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once commanded me to buy a loincloth for him. I said that I could only find wide ones. He (the Imam) said, ‘You must cut it and stitch its borders.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘My father has said, “Whatever of loincloth passes down the ankles is in the fire.’” Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from Yunus ibn Ya‘qub a similar Hadith.

Everything in this book that is narrated from Yaqub ibn Shuayb has been transmitted by me from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Al-Hasan ibn Matil, from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-Khattab, from Jafar ibn Bashir, from Hammad ibn Uthman, from Yaqub ibn Shuayb ibn Maytham Al-Asadi, who was a freed servant (mawla) and a Kufan.

And whatever is narrated from Yaʿqub ibn Yazid, I have narrated it from my father and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Saʿd ibn Abdullah, and Abdullah ibn Jafar Al-Himyari, and Muhammad ibn Yahya Al-Aṭṭar, and Ahmad ibn Idris - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Yaʿqub ibn Yazid.

3 – Yaʿqūb b. al-Sarrāj. Kufan. He has a narration from Abū ʿAbdillāh عليه السلام . Weak.

That he delivered al-Washy to him (the Imam) (a.s.).

"I ate with Abu Abdullah al-Sadiq (as) similarly to the first report."

Abu Abdullah (asws) having said: ‘our (asws) matter (treatment of people towards us) is like that of the Children of Yaqoub (as) (towards him (as)) until Allah (azwj) Judges between us (asws) and His (azwj) creatures’.

Hadith.2637 - Ya'qub ibn Shu'ayb asked Imam (as) about a woman wearing jewelry while in Ihram. Imam (as) said: "She may wear anklets (masak) and bracelets (khalkhalayn)."

And whatever is narrated from Muhammad ibn Yaʿqub Al-Kulayni - may Allah (swt) have mercy on him - I have narrated it from Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Aṣam Al-Kulayni, and Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Musa, and Muhammad ibn Ahmad Al-Sanani - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Muhammad ibn Yaʿqub Al-Kulayni. And likewise, the entire book of Al-Kafi, I have narrated it from them from him, through his transmitters. “Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Make your bread of small loaves because there is blessing with each loaf.’ Ya‘qub ibn Yaqtin has said, ‘I saw abu al-Hassan (a.s.), break the bread upward.’”
