Hadith.1921 - Al-'Is ibn al-Qasim asked Imam (as) about a situation where a group of people all see the crescent and agree that it is for two nights. Imam (as) said: "Yes, it is permissible."
1921 - وَ سَأَلَهُ اَلْعِيصُ بْنُ اَلْقَاسِمِ : عَنِ اَلْهِلاَلِ إِذَا رَآهُ اَلْقَوْمُ جَمِيعاً فَاتَّفَقُوا عَلَى أَنَّهُ لِلَيْلَتَيْنِ أَ يَجُوزُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ
«نَعَمْ».

Hadith.1900 - Al-'Is ibn al-Qasim asked Imam (as) about a man who sleeps during the Month of Ramadan, has a wet dream, wakes up, and then sleeps again before performing ghusl. Imam (as) said: "There is no harm."
1900 - وَ سَأَلَهُ اَلْعِيصُ بْنُ اَلْقَاسِمِ : عَنِ اَلرَّجُلِ يَنَامُ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَيَحْتَلِمُ ثُمَّ يَسْتَيْقِظُ ثُمَّ يَنَامُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ قَالَ
«لاَ بَأْسَ ».

Hadith.1992 - It was narrated from Al-Ays bin Al-Qasim: "I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about a woman who begins menstruating during Month of Ramadan before sunset. Imam (as) said
'She should break her fast as soon as she begins menstruating.'"
1992 - وَ رَوَى اَلْعِيصُ بْنُ اَلْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ اَلْمَرْأَةِ تَطْمَثُ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغِيبَ اَلشَّمْسُ قَالَ «تُفْطِرُ حِينَ تَطْمَثُ».

2. Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan ibn Yahya from ‘Is ibn al-Qasim who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One who fasts on a journey because of ignorance is not required to complete its Qada’ (compensatory fast)/”
2ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ عِيصِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
مَنْ صَامَ فِي السَّفَرِ بِجَهَالَةٍ لَمْ يَقْضِهِ.

Hadith.1793 - Iys ibn al-Qasim asked Abu Abdullah (Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as)) about someone who does not fast the three days of every month and finds fasting difficult. Is there a compensation for this? Imam (as) said: "A mudd (a measure) of food for each day."
1793 - وَ سَأَلَ عِيصُ بْنُ اَلْقَاسِمِ أَبَا عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : عَمَّنْ لَمْ يَصُمِ اَلثَّلاَثَةَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَ هُوَ يَشْتَدُّ عَلَيْهِ اَلصِّيَامُ هَلْ فِيهِ فِدَاءٌ فَقَالَ «مُدٌّ مِنْ طَعَامٍ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ ».

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Khalid from al-Qasim ibn ‘Urwah from certain individuals of his people who has said the following
“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that a woman should not fast an optional fast without permission from her husband.”
1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
قَالَ لا يَصْلُحُ لِلْمَرْأَةِ أَنْ تَصُومَ تَطَوُّعاً إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِ زَوْجِهَا.

3. It was narrated to us by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to us by Muhammad b. Abi al-Qasim who said it was narrated to us by Muhammad b. Ali al-Kufi from Muhammad b. Sinan from al-Muffadhal b. Umar from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said
“Fasting on the day of Eid-e- Ghadeer is equal to the compensation of sins committed in sixty years.”

صَوْمُ یَوْمِ غَدِیرِ خُمٍّ کَفَّارَهُ سِتِّینَ سَنَهً.

Hadith.1910 - In the narration of al-Qasim ibn Uruwah from Abu al-Abbas al-Fadl ibn Abd al-Malik, from Abu Abdullah (as), he said
"Fasting is based on sighting [the crescent], and breaking the fast is based on sighting [the crescent]. Sighting is not determined by one person, nor two, nor fifty."
1910 - وَ فِي رِوَايَةِ اَلْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِي اَلْعَبَّاسِ اَلْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَلْمَلِكِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
«اَلصَّوْمُ لِلرُّؤْيَةِ وَ اَلْفِطْرُ لِلرُّؤْيَةِ وَ لَيْسَ اَلرُّؤْيَةُ أَنْ يَرَاهُ وَاحِدٌ وَ لاَ اِثْنَانِ وَ لاَ خَمْسُونَ ».

3. Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan ibn Yahya from ‘Is ibn al-Qasim who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a woman who experiences Hayd (menses) in the month of Ramadan before sunset. He (the Imam) said, ‘She must stop fasting at the time she finds Hayd (menses).”’
3ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ عِيصِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ تَطْمَثُ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ قَالَ تُفْطِرُ حِينَ تَطْمَثُ.

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn abu Hamzah from abu Basir who has said the following
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about a man who uses the bathhouse when fasting. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’”
4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَدْخُلُ الْحَمَّامَ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ.

4. Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan ibn Yahya from ‘Is ibn al-Qasim who has said the following
“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about a man who does not fast three days every month because fasting is difficult for him: if there is a ransom for it. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is one mud (a certain measurement) of food for everyday.’”
4ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ عِيصِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَمَّنْ لَمْ يَصُمِ الثَّلاثَةَ الأَيَّامِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَهُوَ يَشُدُّ عَلَيْهِ الصِّيَامُ هَلْ فِيهِ فِدَاءٌ قَالَ مُدٌّ مِنْ طَعَامٍ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ.

2. We were told by Muhammed bin Hasan bin Ahmad bin Waleed, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: We were told by Muhammed bin Hasan al-Saffar, that he said: We were told by Ahmad bin Muhammed bin Isa, from Musa bin Qasem al-Bajali, from Ali bin Abi Hamza, from Abu Baseer, from Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, with regards to the saying of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He: «Repent to Allah a sincere repentance» (66:8). He said
It is the fasting of the day of Wednesday, the day of Thursday and the day of Friday.
حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد - رضي الله عنه - قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن موسى بن القاسم البجلي، عن علي بن أبي حمزة، عن أبي بصير، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام في قول الله عز وجل
" توبوا إلى الله توبة نصوحا " حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد - رضي الله عنه - قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن موسى بن القاسم البجلي، عن علي بن أبي حمزة، عن أبي بصير، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام في قول الله عز وجل: " توبوا إلى الله توبة نصوحا "

18. Ahmad ibn Muhammad from has narrated from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from al-Qasim ibn Yazid from Malik al- Juhaniy who has said the following
“I once asked abu Ja’far (a.s.), about Zakat of al-Fitrah. He (the Imam) said, ‘Pay it to the Muslims. If you do not find one, pay to a Mustaz‘af (mentally and physically weak) or pay to your relatives, if you like.’”
18ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ بُرَيْدٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنْ زَكَاةِ الْفِطْرَةِ قَالَ تُعْطِيهَا الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدْ مُسْلِماً فَمُسْتَضْعَفاً وَأَعْطِ ذَا قَرَابَتِكَ مِنْهَا إِنْ شِئْتَ.

3. Safwan ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Is ibn al-Qasim who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the night during which one can appeal before Allah for one’s needs when it is the time for a shower. He (the Imam) replied, ‘It is at the beginning of the night, or if you like, at the end of the night as you wake up.’ I then asked about al-Qiyam (rising up) (for salat [prayer]). He said, ‘You may rise in the beginning or toward the end of the night.’”
3ـ صَفْوَانُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عِيصِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنِ اللَّيْلَةِ الَّتِي يُطْلَبُ فِيهَا مَا يُطْلَبُ مَتَى الْغُسْلُ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ حَيْثُ تَقُومُ مِنْ آخِرِهِ وَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْقِيَامِ فَقَالَ تَقُومُ فِي أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ.

4. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ali b. Majluwayh who said it was narrated to me by my uncle Muhammad b. Abi al-Qasim from Ahmad b. Abi Abdillah from al-Hussain b. Sa’eed from Fadhalah from Abdillah b. Sinan from al-Sadiq (a.s.) who said
“The smell of the mouth (breath) of a fasting person is dearer to Allah than the fragrance of musk.”
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مَاجِیلَوَیْهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَمِّی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِی الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَهَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ ع قَالَ
خُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَفْضَلُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رَائِحَهِ الْمِسْکِ.

2-41 Muhammad ibn Ali Majiluyih - may God be pleased with him - narrated that his uncle Muhammad ibn Abil-Qasim quoted on the authority of Ahmad ibn Aba Abdullah, on the authority of Al-Hussein ibn Sa’id who linked it up through a chain of narrators to Imam as-Sadiq (MGB) saying
“There are two pleasures for one who fasts: The first pleasure is for when he breaks his fast, and the second one is for when he meets the Honorable the Exalted God.”
2-41 حدثنا محمد بن علي ماجيلويه رضي الله عنه، عن عمه محمد بن أبي القاسم عن أحمد بن أبي عبد الله، عن الحسين بن سعيد، عن رجاله يرفعه إلى الصادق عليه السلام قال
للصائم فرحتان: فرحة عند إفطاره، وفرحة عند لقاء الله عز وجل

3. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ali b. Majluwayh from his uncle Muhammad b. Abi al-Qasim from Ahmad b. Abi Abdillah from his father from Muhammad b. Sinan from al-Muffadhal b. Umar from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said
“One who fasts continuously from Shaban to the month of Ramadan then by Allah, these fasts would be counted among repentance of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime.”

صَوْمُ شَعْبَانَ وَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرَیْنِ مُتَتابِعَیْنِ تَوْبَهٌ وَ اللَّهِ مِنَ اللَّهِ

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from and a number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from all from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from al-Qasim ibn ‘Urwah from Burayd ibn Mu‘awiyah who has said the following
“I once heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.), say, ‘When the redness disappears from this side (the east), it is sunset all over the east and west of the earth (land).”’
2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ جَمِيعاً عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ابْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) يَقُولُ إِذَا غَابَتِ الْحُمْرَةُ مِنْ هَذَا الْجَانِبِ يَعْنِي نَاحِيَةَ الْمَشْرِقِ فَقَدْ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ فِي شَرْقِ الأَرْضِ وَغَرْبِهَا.

Hadith.1939 - Safwan ibn Yahya narrated from Al-'Is ibn al-Qasim, who said
"I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about a man who, during the Month of Ramadan, went out while his companions were taking suhoor (pre-dawn meal) in a house. He saw the dawn and called out to them, saying that the dawn had risen. Some of them stopped eating, while others thought he was joking and continued to eat. Imam (as) said: 'They must complete their fast and make up another day.'"
1939 - وَ رَوَى صَفْوَانُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنِ اَلْعِيصِ بْنِ اَلْقَاسِمِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ خَرَجَ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَ أَصْحَابُهُ يَتَسَحَّرُونَ فِي بَيْتٍ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى اَلْفَجْرِ فَنَادَاهُمْ أَنَّهُ قَدْ طَلَعَ اَلْفَجْرُ فَكَفَّ بَعْضٌ وَ ظَنَّ بَعْضٌ أَنَّهُ يَسْخَرُ فَأَكَلَ فَقَالَ «يُتِمُّ وَ يَقْضِي ».

4. Muhammad ibn ‘Isma‘il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan from Safwan ibn Yahya from ‘Is ibn al-Qasim who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who along with his friends go for Suhur (breakfast in the morning before dawn) in a house. He looks toward dawn and asks them to stop eating. Certain ones among them stop and others think that he is joking and he eats. He (the Imam) said, ‘He completes that fast and makes its Qada’ (compensatory fast) also.’”
4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ شَاذَانَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ عِيصِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنْ رَجُلٍ خَرَجَ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ يَتَسَحَّرُونَ فِي بَيْتٍ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى الْفَجْرِ وَنَادَاهُمْ فَكَفَّ بَعْضُهُمْ وَظَنَّ بَعْضُهُمْ أَنَّهُ يَسْخَرُ فَأَكَلَ فَقَالَ يُتِمُّ صَوْمَهُ وَيَقْضِي.
