“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the night during which one can appeal before Allah for one’s needs when it is the time for a shower. He (the Imam) replied, ‘It is at the beginning of the night, or if you like, at the end of the night as you wake up.’ I then asked about al-Qiyam (rising up) (for salat [prayer]). He said, ‘You may rise in the beginning or toward the end of the night.’”
