"I have experienced [having] both light-skinned and dark-skinned maidservants, and there was a difference between them." (Allama al-Majlisi says: It means both of them have a preference)

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Waiting period for a divorced woman is three Hayd (menses)-free periods or three months if she does not experience Hayd (menses).”’ Humayd has narrated from ibn Sama‘ah from Ja‘far ibn Sama‘ah from Dawud ibn Sarhan from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), a similar Hadith.

"Al-Bada' does take place to Allah (swt) from ignorance."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘As the belief of a person increases in strength, his poverty intensifies.’”

“I once wrote to abu al-Hassan (a.s.), and ask about the meat of camels of Khurasan and their milk. He (the Imam) said, ’It is not unlawful.”’

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Because of breastfeeding, whoever is unlawful for marriage because of being a relative (blood relationship), becomes unlawful for marriage.’”

“I was in the presence of abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) and abu Basir also was there. The Imams (a.s.) said, “David inherited the knowledge of the prophets. Solomon inherited David. Prophet Muhammad (s.a.) inherited Solomon and we inherited Muhammad (s.a.). With us are the pages of Abraham and the tablets of Moses.” Abu Basir then said, “This is the knowledge.” The Imams (a.s.) said, “O abu Muhammad, this is not the knowledge. The knowledge is what happens in the nights and in the days, day after day and hour after hour.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not unlawful to decorate al-Musahaf (Quran and books) and swords with gold and silver.’”

“I once said abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘What is the meaning of the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, “Dawud and Sulayman who issued judgment about the plantation.’” I asked, ‘Was it one issue about which they gave judgment?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, had sent revelation to the prophets before Dawud about such issue. To Dawud Allah revealed that whatever of sheep graze on a plantation, the owner of the plantation receives the necks of the sheep and such grazing must be that which takes place during the night; the owner of the plantation must protect it during the day; and the owner of the sheep must guard them during the night, therefore, Dawud judged as the prophets had judged before. To Sulayman Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, sent revelation that required the owner of the plantation to ask only for what comes out of the belly of the sheep. This tradition continued after Sulayman and that is mentioned in the words of Allah, most High, “To everyone of them We give command and knowledge,” (22:79) thus, everyone of them judged according to the command of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious.’”

“Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, sent revelation to David, ‘Meet My servant Daniel and say to him, ‘You have disobeyed Me and I forgave you, you disobeyed Me, I forgave you, you disobeyed Me and I forgave you. If you will disobey Me the forth time I will not forgive you.’ David went to meet Daniel and said, ‘O Daniel, I am the Messenger of Allah and He says to you, “You disobeyed Me and I forgave you, you disobeyed Me and I forgave you, you disobeyed Me and I forgave you. If you will disobey Me the forth time I will not forgive you.’” Daniel said, ‘O prophet of Allah, you have conveyed your message.’ In the early morning Daniel woke up and prayed to his Lord, saying, ‘O Lord, Your prophet David informed me that I have disobeyed You and You forgave me, I disobeyed You and You forgave me, I disobeyed You and You forgave me and if I will disobey You the forth time You will not forgive me. I swear by Your Majesty, if You will not protect me I will certainly disobey You, I will certainly disobey You, I will certainly disobey You.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that one who finds something of value must (continue to) announce his finding for one year. Thereafter it becomes like the rest of his property.” (Consult fatwa also)

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one buys a stumper, he has the benefit of riding and its sustenance is with Allah.’”

“Restraint from associating people brings in their animosity.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Witnesses must not refuse to present their testimony when they are called before it (the case and testimony) is written down.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one vomits while his Wudu’ is valid, he should only rinse his mouth.’”

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘Sulayman son of Dawud (Solomon son of David) performed Hajj along with Jinn, man, bird and wind, wearing a Coptic gown.’”

“I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who kills a lion in al-Haram (the sacred area). He (the Imam) said, ’He owes one ram.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once initiated speaking without my asking anything, ‘’Ttikaf consists of three days, meaning, according to the Sunnah, by the will of Allah.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, that all water (from source) is clean until it is found out that it is not clean.”

“Dawud ibn Zurbiy complained against his son before abu al-Hassan (a.s.), because of what he had destroyed. He (the Imam) said, ‘Reform and reclaim him; a value of a hundred thousand is not important compared to the bounty that Allah has bestowed up on you.’”
