“About the case of porters and a man working for hire, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You must pay him before his perspiration dries up.’”

"A believer remains within the bounds of his faith as long as he does not commit unlawful killing." Imam (as) also said: "One who intentionally kills a believer is not granted success in repentance."

Sometimes a person is a victim of oppression and he curses till the time he himself becomes the oppressor.”

“Of the people who, on the Day of Judgment, will regret the most is one who preaches justice but himself does not yield to justice.”

“Justice is sweeter than water for a thirsty man. How vast is justice if exercised on an issue, even if it is a little one!”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is a matter of rights that a person riding say to the one walking, ‘the road ’ (meaning please open the road, to inform him of his presence).’ In another copy it is said that a rider saying to one walking ‘the road ’ is of injustice.’”

“Allah is by far Gracious and beyond ordering people to do what they are not capable of doing. Allah is by far Majestic and beyond a situation wherein things may exist in His kingdom that He does not want.”

“In a Hadith he has said, ‘What is the most forceful obligation from Allah upon His creatures? I must ask you.’ The Imam mentioned three things of which the first was yielding to justice for people against one’s own soul.”

Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: It is unjust for a rider to say to one who is walking: “The road (i.e. get out of my way).”

“Once Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) said to me, ‘Should I tell you about what Allah has emphatically made obligatory on His creatures (are three things)?’ I said, ‘Yes, please do so.’ The Imam said, ‘You must yield to justice for people against your own soul, cooperate with your fellow believers, and speak of and remember Allah in all places. I, however, do not mean thereby saying, ‘Glory belongs to Allah, all praise belongs to Allah, no one deserves to be worshipped except Allah, and Allah is greater than (can be described), although, it also is speaking of Allah. It is speaking of and remembering Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, in all places whenever you are faced with a deed of obedience or prohibition.’”

Abu Abdillah Ja’far ibn Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Should I not guide you to the most important obligations Allah has placed upon His creatures? To be fair and just with people in their dealings; to be comforting to the brothers in faith; to remember Allah in every situation. And when he faces a matter of obedience to Allah, he acts accordingly and when he comes across any sin, he shuns it."

“I once went to visit abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), and I met Zurarah who received me when he was coming out of the presence of the Imam. He (the Imam) said to me, ‘O Walid, is it not strange to you that Zurarah asks me about working for these people? What does he want me to say? Does he want me to say no, so that he can narrate it from me?’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘O Walid, when did the Shi ’ah ask about working for them? The Shi ’ah would only say, ‘You can eat their food, use their drink and live under their protection.’ When did the Shi‘ah ask about it (working for them)?”’

Prophet (s) said: Allah said: I will punish every Muslim group who recognized the leadership of any unjust ruler whom I do not select, even if the individuals of such a group are pious and God-fearing. I, likewise, will forgive every Muslim group that recognized (only) the leadership of the just imams whom I appointed, even if the individuals of such a group wrong (themselves) and commit bad deeds.

Abu Abdillah Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: "May I not inform you about the most important duty Allah has imposed upon His creation?" I said: "Please do." He said: "To treat people justly, equal to yourself, and to grant preference to your brother; and to remember Allah in every situation. And by remembering, I do not mean chanting: ’Glory be to Allah’ and ’Praise be to Allah’ and ’There is no god but Allah’ and ’Allah is great’, altogether it is a part of remembering. But to remember Allah in every situation means to be invincible in matter of obedience to Allah or sinning against Him."

Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, said to me: Shall I not tell you of the most difficult which Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, obliged upon His creation? I said: Sure. (He said:) [1] That you are fair with people towards yourself, your consolation with your brother and mentioning Allah in every place. Alas, I am, indeed, saying, verily: «Glory be to Allah, and Praise be to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is Greater». Although this is from that, however, (I mean) mentioning Allah in every place, (regardless) if you were to approach an act of obedience or an act of disobedience.

“Once Humran and I or Bukayr and I went in the presence of abu Ja’far (a.s.) and I said, ‘We use the Mitmar.’ The Imam said, ‘What is the Mitmar?’ I said, ‘It is a measuring device. Whoever of ‘Alawi or none ‘Alawi agrees with us we love them and whoever, ‘Alawi or none ‘Alawi opposes us, we disavow them.’ The Imam said, ‘O Zurara, the words of Allah are more true than your words. Where are those about whom Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, ‘As for the really weak and oppressed men, women, and children who were not able to find any means of obtaining their freedom or of having the right guidance,’ (4:98) and where are those who have hope in Allah’s command? Where are those who mix good deeds with bad deeds? Where are the people of ‘A’raf and where are people whose hearts incline to the truth?’” “Hammad has added in the Haditlr. The voices of abu Ja’far (a.s.) and I became loud and people at the door could hear them. “Jamil from Zurara has added: When many words were exchanged between him and I, he said, ‘O Zurara, it is a right on Allah not to send the straying people to paradise.’”

Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Haytham al-`Ijli; Ahmad ibn al-Hasan al-Qittan; Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Sinani; al-Husayn ibn Ibrahim ibn Ahmad ibn Hisham al-Mukattab; `Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Sa`igh and `Ali ibn `Abd Allah al-Warraq (may All be pleased with them) all said: Abu al-`Abbas Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Zakariyyah al-Qittan said: Bakr ibn `Abd Allah ibn Husayn said: Tamim ibn Buhlul said: Abu Mu`awiyah said, on he authority of al-A`mash that Ja`far ibn Muhammad (AS) said the following regarding Islamic law: Verily, Allah does not impose anything on a soul except what it can bear, and does not oblige it to do anything it does not have the strength to do. The actions of the servants are created with decreed [taqdir] creation, not with constitutional [takwin] creation and Allah is the Creator of all Things. We do not believe in determinism or relinquishment. Allah, the Mighty and High, does not hold the innocent to be that guilty, nor does Allah, the Mighty and High, punish children for the sins of their fathers. For verily, He has said in Perfect Book: And no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another; the Mighty and High says: And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for. Allah, the Mighty and High, forgives and favors. It is not befitting of the Mighty and High to oppress. Allah, the Mighty and High, does not oblige His Servants to obey the one that may lead them astray and misguided them. When He selects His Servants to be His Messengers, he does not select any that disbelieve in Him, and who may serve Satan instead of Him. He never appoints but an infallible person as a Proof over His Creation. The Compiler of this book says: The tradition is detailed; we have extracted from it the required passage. I have transmitted all of it in the book Al-Khisal.
