Sufyan Jurairi that he said: I heard Muhammad bin Abdur Rahman Ibn Abi Laila say, “By Allah, the Mahdi will not be, but from the progeny of Husain (a.s).”

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘Lying is the destruction ofbelief.”’

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘Whoever has a share of harshness (in his behavior), belief is separated from him.’”

“For everything there is a lock and the lock for belief is friendliness.”

Whoever has a share of foolishness, faith will be obstructed from him.

“Imam abu Ja‘far (a.s.) has said, ‘When you hear knowledge you must utilize it and your hearts must become more open. When knowledge increases in one’s heart it becomes harder to bear and Satan may over power him. If Satan would dispute with you move on him with whatever you know. The plots of Satan are weak.” I asked the Imam (a.s.) “What is it that we know?’” The Imam replied, “Fight him with whatever of the power of Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, has come to light before you.”

The Commander of the Believers (a.s.) came out and sat in the mosque and his companions gathered around him. Then Ḥusain (a.s.) came and stood in front of the Commander of the Believers (a.s.). The Commander of the Believers (a.s.) placed his hand over the head of Ḥusain (a.s.) and said: O my son! Allāh has degraded some people in the Qur’an by saying, ‘Neither did the heavens weep over them, nor the earth, nor were they granted respite’ (44:29). I swear to Allāh that they will kill you after me and then the heavens and the earth will weep over you. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Ḥakam ibn Miskīn, from Dāwūd/Yazdād ibn ‘Isā Al-Ansāri, from Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdil Raḥmān ibn Abī Laylā, from Ibrāhīm Al-Nakha’i, from the Commander of the Believers (a.s.).

“You will not be of the people of good deeds until you will know. You will not know until you acknowledge. You will not acknowledge until you safeguard the four doors and the first of these doors will not do any good without the last. The people of the three strayed far away from the (right) path. Allah, the Most Holy and Most High, accepts only the righteous deeds. Allah does not accept with one’s fulfilling the conditions of the covenant. Those who remain faithful to Allah, the Most Holy and Most High, about His condition and follow what is prescribed in the covenant, he will receive blessings from Him and He will keep His promise. Allah, the Most Holy and Most High, has informed the people of the path of guidance and has sanctioned for them the laws of Shari‘a as beacons. He has informed them how to follow the laws. He has said, “I am All-forgiving to the righteously striving believers who repent and follow the right guidance.” (20:82) and He said, “Allah only accepts the offerings of the pious ones.” (5:27) Those who are pious before Allah about His commandments, they meet Allah as believers in whatever Muhammad (sw) has brought. It is unfortunate that people died before finding guidance. They thought that they were believers but they became polytheist without realizing it. Those who enter houses through their doors, they are rightly guided. Those who go other ways they are on the path to destruction. Allah has connected the obedience to the people of His Divine authority with the obedience to His Messenger, and the obedience to His messenger with obedience to His Own-self.
Those who would disregard obedience to the people of Divine authority, they have not obeyed Allah and His Messenger. This obedience is the acknowledgment of what Allah, the Most Holy and Most High, has sent. (That you) be well dressed with means of beauty near every mosque; that you should enter the doors of the houses that Allah has given permission to be uplifted wherein His name be mentioned. Allah has certainly informed you that there are certain men whose attentions and mind do not deviate from speaking about Allah, establishing prayer and paying charity because of business and trade attractions. They only fear the Day in which the hearts and eyes turn upside down. Allah has appointed the messengers for His command. He then chose them to acknowledge that in His Warning and said, “No nation who lived before was left without a Warner . .” (35:25) Astray are those who are ignorant, and guided are those who think and understand. Allah, the Most Holy and Most High, has said, “It is their hearts in the center which are blind, not their sights.” (22:46) How can one find guidance without seeing, and how can one see without thinking? Follow the Messenger of Allah and his Ahlul Bayt (family) and acknowledge what Allah has sent and follow the traces of guidance, for they (Ahlul Bayt) are the signs of trust and piety. Know that if a person would deny Jesus, the son of Mary (a.s.) and acknowledge all the other messengers, such person will not be considered a believer. Follow the path by the help of the lighthouses and follow the signs from behind the barriers. Try to perfect the matters of your religion and have faith in Allah, your Lord.”

“You will not become virtuous until you learn, you will not learn until you affirm and you will not affirm until you accept four Chapters, the first of which will be of no benefit without the last one. People of three Chapters have strayed far away. Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High, does not accept anything but virtuous deeds and Allah does not accept (anything) without loyalty in keeping up with one’s stipulations and covenants. Whoever fulfils his stipulations toward Allah and completes whatever is in one’s covenant, he will find (the reward that is) with Him and He will fulfill His promise. Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has informed the people of the ways of guidance and has established for it the lighthouse. He has informed them how to behave, saying, ‘I am All-forgiving to the righteously striving believers who repent and follow the right guidance.’ (20:82) Allah has also said, ‘Allah accepts only the offerings of the pious ones.’ (5:27) “Whoever maintains piety before Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, in the matter of His commands he will come in the presence of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, as a believer in whatever Muhammad (a.s.) has brought from Him. How remote, far away and lost are the people who have died before achieving guidance, and had thought that they were believers. They had considered things as partners of Allah without knowing what they had done. Whoever comes to a house through its door finds proper guidance, and whoever looks for a way other than the door has chosen a condemned path. Allah has joined obedience to His Messenger with obedience to those who possess Divine Authority and the obedience to His Messenger with obedience to His own commands. Therefore, whoever does not obey the people who possess Divine Authority, they have not obeyed Allah and His Messenger and it (obedience to people who possess Divine Authority) is the affirmation of what has come from Allah. Dress up (in piety) before every Mosque. Find the houses through the doors to them, the houses for which Allah has granted permission to be raised high, wherein people speak of Him. He has informed you that in these houses there are men who do not become distracted because of trade and business from speaking of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, from prayer and paying al-Zakat (charity). These men fear the Day wherein the hearts and eyes undergo turbulent conditions. Allah chose and purified the messengers for His command, then He purified and chose them (people who possess Divine Authority) who are confirmed in His warnings. Allah has said, ‘No nation who lived before was left without a Warner. . . .’ (35:25) “Lost are those who remained ignorant and guided are those who thought and understood. Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, ‘It is not their seeing ability that is blind but it is their hearts which are in their chests.’ (22:46) “How can one who does not think find guidance? How can one who has not received warnings think? Follow the Messenger of Allah, affirm whatever has come from Allah, follow the marks of guidance; they are the signs of trust and piety. You must know that if a man rejects Jesus Christ and acknowledges all the other messengers of Allah, he is not a believer. Find the way through finding the lighthouse and look for the marks from behind the curtains. Strive to perfect the affairs of your religion and believe in Allah your Lord.’”
