“I heard abu Ja’far (a.s.) saying, ‘If al-Hamd, (the first Chapter of the Holy Quran) would not cure one, nothing else could cure one.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who dies and leaves behind his daughter and his sister from his father and mother. He (the Imam) said, ‘The entire legacy belongs to the daughter and there is nothing for the sister from his father and mother.’ I then said, ‘We need it. The deceased is from those people and his sister is a believing person, well-aware.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Take one-half from them as they take from you according to their Sunnah and judgments.’ Ibn ’Udhaynah has said, ‘I mentioned it to Zurarah and he said, “What ibn Muhriz has brought is certainly light.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once said to me, ‘You should eat Tharid because I do not find anything more agreeable than Tharid.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘I do not perform Salat (prayer) on the dead body of one drowned in wine (a wine drinker).”’

“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.) wrote to me from prison that so and so my son is the master and guardian of my children and I have gifted my own (Kunya, Arabic) surname.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Women experiencing Hayd (menses) can perform Salah (prayer) in their clothes if they have not come in contact with blood.’”

“When shaking hands with people, the Messenger of Allah had never been the first to discontinue the handshake.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who dies and leaves behind his daughter and his sister from his mother and father. He (the Imam) said, ‘The legacy belongs to his daughter and there is nothing for his sister from his mother and father.’”

Salamah ibn Muhraz asked Abu Abdullah (as) while I was present. He said: "I performed Tawaf around the Kaaba and between Safa and Marwah, then went to Mina and had relations with my wife without performing the Tawaf al-Nisa." Abu Abdullah (as) said: "What a bad thing you have done," reproaching me. I said: "I was put to trial." Imam (as) replied: "There is no penalty upon you."

There is not a worshiper from our Shi`a except that when he rises to pray, there is an angel for every person that opposes him praying behind him and supplicating to Allah on his behalf until he completes his prayer.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, never denied someone asking for help. If he had something with him, he gave charity; if not, he would say, ‘May Allah give you (charity).”’

“None of our Shias gets up for prayer except that he is surrounded by angels equal to the number of enemies around him and they pray behind him and supplicate to Allah, the Mighty and the Sublime for him till he finishes his prayer.”

"The names of Zamzam are: Rakḍat Jibraʾīl (the impulse of Gabriel); Ḥafīrat Ismāʿīl (that which Ishmael excavated); Ḥafīrat ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib (that which ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib excavated); Zamzam; Barrah (obedience); al-Maḍmūnah (the assured well); al-Rawāʾ (the satiating, sweet, freshwater); Shuʿbah (mountain cleft); Ṭaʿām (food); Maṭʿam (place of eating); and Shifāʾu Suqmin (healing of disease)."

Mecca has five names. They are, ‘Ummul Qura , Mecca, Becca, Bassasa since anyone who performed any acts of oppression there was deported from it and destroyed, and ‘Umma Ruhm since they had mercy with whomever took refuge there.”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: “Blessed be those, who are fortunate to live during the time of Qaim of my Ahle Bayt; those who would believe in him during his occultation and before his advent; who would love his friends and remain aloof from his enemies. Such people would be my closest ones and my friends on Judgment Day.” (According to the tradition of Rufaa) “And the most respected creatures of Allah in my view.”

Hasan bin Ali, peace be upon them both, was among a group of his companions at the presence of Mu’awiya, and he said to him: O father of Muhammed, inform me about manliness. He said: A man’s preservation of his religion, his act of rectifying his land, his good manner during quarreling, the spreading of peace, the leniency of speech, maintaining abstinence and endearment to people.

Whoever goes on the Hajj pilgrimage for three consecutive years it is as if he has gone on the Hajj pilgrimage every year whether he continues to go on the Hajj or not in the following years.”The compiler of the book - may God increase his honor - said, “The chain of narrations of this tradition is weak. However, I have cited it as it was in my manuscript. However, there is a correct form of this tradition on the authority of Imam as-Sadiq (MGB) that is cited next.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Debts are three. One man is he who when a lender gives the borrower respite and the borrower pays it off without delay. In his case it is all for him and it is not against him. There also is a man who as lender asks for payment and as a borrower he pays in time. In his case there is nothing for or against him. There is a man who as a lender demands payment and he as a borrower delays payment. In his case it is against him but not for him.”

he heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.) say the following. “Of the knowledge that we have received is the interpretation of the Holy Quran and its laws, the knowledge of the changes of time and the happenings therein. When Allah wants good for a people, He makes them to understand. If He would make to understand one who does not want to understand such a person turns away as if he has heard nothing. The Imams (a.s.) paused, briefly, then said, “Had we found keepers and trusted people for our knowledge, we would have said it (all to him). Allah is the best supporter.”

Qudamah ibn Muhraz al-Ashja’I related to me that Makhramah ibn Bukayr ibn `Abd Allah ibn al-Ashajj, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Harb ibn Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani related to me that I bear witness on my father, Zayd ibn Kahlid, that I heard him say: The Messenger of Allah (sw) sent me on my way saying, “Give glad tidings to the people that whoever says, `There is no god but Allah, Alone, who has no partners’ will have Heaven as his reward.”
