11-3 My father, may God be pleased with him, narrated to us, he said: Saʿd b. ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; from Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. ʿĪsā; from Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. Abī Naṣr al-Bazanṭī; from Ayman b. Muḥriz; from Muʿāwiyah b. ʿAmmār; from Abū ʿAbd Allāh (ʿas), who said
"The names of Zamzam are: Rakḍat Jibraʾīl (the impulse of Gabriel); Ḥafīrat Ismāʿīl (that which Ishmael excavated); Ḥafīrat ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib (that which ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib excavated); Zamzam; Barrah (obedience); al-Maḍmūnah (the assured well); al-Rawāʾ (the satiating, sweet, freshwater); Shuʿbah (mountain cleft); Ṭaʿām (food); Maṭʿam (place of eating); and Shifāʾu Suqmin (healing of disease)."
