hadith 246

1. My father and ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain both narrated to me from ‘Ali ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Hāshim, from his father, from Ḥusain ibn Yazīd Al-Nawfali, from Ismā’īl ibn Abī Ziyād Al-Sakūni, who said

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Choose pigeons as birds in your houses, for verily they curse the killers of Ḥusain (a.s.).

1 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ [عَلِيِّ بْنِ هَارُونَ] عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ

اتَّخِذُوا الْحَمَامَ الرَّاعِبِيَّةَ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا تَلْعَنُ قَتَلَةَ الْحُسَيْنِ ع

hadith 693

1. We were told by Ahmad bin Ahmad bin Yahya al-Mukattab, that he said: We were told by Abu’l-Teeb, Ahmad bin Muhammed al-Warraq, that he said: We were told by Ali bin Harun al-Himyari, that he said: We were told by Ali bin Muhammed bin Sulayman al-Nawfali, that he said: I was told by my father, from Ali bin Yaqteen, that he said

I said to Abu’l-Hasan, Musa bin Ja’far, peace be upon them both: Is it permissible for a Prophet of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, to be stingy? He said: No. Then I said: Then what is the indication of the saying of Sulayman, peace be upon him: «My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that shall not be for anyone after me» (38:35)? And what is its meaning? He said: A kingdom is (of) two (types of) kingdoms: one kingdom that is taken by victory, tyranny and election by the people; and one kingdom that is taken (by being granted) from Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, such as the kingdom of the Family of Ibrahim and the kingdom of Talut and the One with Two Horns. Sulayman, peace be upon him, said: «Grant me a kingdom, one by which it shall not be, for anyone after me, to say that it is taken with victory, tyranny and election by the people.» Hence, Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, subjected the wind to him by which it flows, by his command, gently where he approaches, and he made its going be for one month and its coming be for another month. Moreover, he subjected the devils to him, every labouring and diving, and he was taught the speech of birds, and he was given the ability (to all) on earth. Then, people during his time, and after it, knew that his kingdom does not resemble the kingdom of kings that are chosen by the people and those who became kings through victory and tyranny. He said: I said to him: And the saying of Allah’s Messenger, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family: «May Allah grant mercy to my brother, Sulayman, how stingy he was»? He said: His sayings has two (possible) indications: one of them is how stingy he was with regards to his honor and bad statement about himself; and the other indication says: «How stingy he was, if it was that he intended what the ignorant ones think.» He, peace be upon him, then said: Surely, we have, by Allah, been granted what Sulayman was granted and what Sulayman was not granted, and what none from all the worlds was given. Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, said with regards to the story of Sulayman: «This is Our grant, so grant or withhold without account.» (38:39) He said with regards to the story of Muhammed, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family: «Whatever the Messenger brings you, take it, and what he forbade you, refrain.» (59:7) [1]

حدثنا أحمد بن يحيى المكتب، قال: حدثنا أبو الطيب أحمد بن محمد الوراق، قال: حدثنا علي بن هارون الحميري، قال: حدثنا علي بن محمد بن سليمان النوفلي، قال: حدثني أبي، عن علي بن يقطين: قال

قلت لأبي الحسن موسى بن جعفر عليهما السلام: أيجوز أن يكون نبي الله عز وجل بخيلا؟ فقال: لا فقلت له: فقول سليمان عليه السلام " رب اغفر لي وهب لي ملكا لا ينبغي لأحد من بعدي " ما وجهه؟ ومعناه؟ فقال: الملك ملكان مأخوذ بالغلبة والجور واختيار الناس، وملك مأخوذ من قبل الله تبارك وتعالى كملك آل إبراهيم وملك طالوت وذي القرنين، فقال سليمان عليه السلام هب لي ملكا لا ينبغي لأحد من بعدي أن يقول إنه مأخوذ بالغلبة والجور واختيار الناس، فسخر الله تبارك وتعالى له الريح تجري بأمره رخاء حيث أصاب وجعل غدوها شهرا ورواحها شهرا، وسخر الله له الشياطين كل بناء و غواص، وعلم منطق الطير ومكن في الأرض فعلم الناس في وقته وبعده أن ملكه لا يشبه ملك الملوك المختارين من قبل الناس والمالكين بالغلبة والجور. قال: فقلت له: فقول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: " رحم الله أخي سليمان ما كان أبخله "؟ فقال: لقوله وجهان: أحدهما ما كان أبخله بعرضه وسوء القول فيه، والوجه الاخر يقول ما كان أبخله إن كان أراد ما يذهب إليه الجهال. ثم قال: عليه السلام: قد والله أوتينا ما أوتي سليمان وما لم يؤت سليمان وما لم يؤت أحد من العالمين، قال الله عز وجل في قصة سليمان: " هذا عطاؤنا فامنن أو أمسك بغير حساب " وقال في قصة محمد صلى الله عليه وآلة: " ما آتاكم الرسول فخذوه وما نهيكم عنه فانتهوا".

hadith 86

7-7 Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Mokattib narrated that Abul Tayyib Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Warraq quoted on the authority of Ali ibn Harun al-Hemayri, on the authority of Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Soleiman al-Nawfali, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ali ibn Yaqteen, “When Musa ibn Ja’far (s) was with some of his relatives, he was informed about the decisions that Musa ibn Al-Mahdi (Harun’s brother) had made about him. He asked his relatives, “What do you think?” They said, “

We think that it is best for you to avoid him, and hide yourself since one cannot be immune from his wickedness.” Abul Hassan smiled and said, “Sakheena thinks that she will overcome her master while it is possible for the one who always wins to be defeated.” He (s) then raised his hands towards the sky and said, “O my Lord! There are many enemies who have sharpened their knives for me, have poured their lethal poisons in my food and have not left me alone for the least moment. However, when You saw my weakness in facing these problems, You relieved me from them using Your own strength and power, not my strength or power. You threw them into the wells they had dug for me while no longer having any hopes of attaining their worldly aspirations or any hopes for their Hereafter. Praise to You for this as much as You deserve to be praised. O my Master! O my Lord! Seize him using your own Majesty. Dull his sword drawn upon me using your own power. Make him busy running his own affairs. Make him incapable against his enemies. O my Lord! Assist me against him for now so that my anger gets quenched and my hatred of him is blocked. O my Lord! Please accept my prayers, and help me to no longer have any complaints. Show him what you have promised the oppressors. Show me what youhave promised about the acceptance of the prayers of those who are coerced. You are the possessor of Great Nobility, and Benevolent Favor.”The narrator added, “Then the people got dispersed and never came together again until the death of Musa ibn Al-Mahdi.Then they all gathered around Musa ibn Ja’far to read a letter which informed them about the death of Musa ibn Al-Mahdi. One of the members of the Household of Musa ibn Ja’far who was present recited the following:How many prayers go up from the earth to some place in the heavens which no one can block! They go where no caravans have ever gone to before Where there are many obstacles! The prayers travel beyond the night, and the night covers it, While some are asleep and some are awakened He will open the doors of the sky and those below Before any knocker knocks at the doors. When the caravan reaches there, God will not return its leaders to their owners Since God sees and hears all. That I have hopes in God as if I can optimistically see what God will do with a good opinion.

7 - حَدَّثَنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى المُكَتَّبِ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا أَبُو الطَيِّبِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الوَرَّاقُ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا عَلِىُّ بْنُ هارُونَ الحِمْيَريُّ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا عَلِىُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُلَيْمانَ النُّوفَلِيِّ قالَ: حَدَّثَني أَبي، عَنْ عَلِىِّ بْنِ يَقْطِينٍ قالَ

اُنْهِيَ الخَبَرُ إِلى أَبي الحَسَنِ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍعَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ وَعِنْدَهُ جَماعَةٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ بِما عَزَمَ إِلَيْهِ مُوسَى بْنُ المَهْدِيِّ فِي أَمْرِهِ، فَقالَ لأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ: ما تُشِيرُونَ؟ قالُوا: نَرى‏ أَنْ تَتَباعَدَ عَنْهُ وَأَنْ تُغَيِّبَ شَخْصَكَ، [مِنْهُ] ، فَإِنَّهُ لا يُؤْمِنُ شَرُّهُ فَتَبَسَّمَ أَبُو الحَسَن‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ ثُمَّ قالَ:وَلَيَغْلِبَنَّ مُغالِبُ الغُلاَّبِ‏زَعَمَتْ سَخِينَةُ أَنْ سَتَغْلِبَ رَبِّهاثُمَّ رَفَعَ يَدَهُ إِلى السَّماءِ، فَقالَ: «اَللّْهُمَّ كَمْ مِنْ عَدُوٍّ شَحَذَ لي‏ ظُبَةَ مُدْيَتِهِ وَأَرْهَفَ شَباحَدِّهِ، وَدافَ لي قَواتِلَ سُمُومِهِ وَلَمْ تَنَمْ عَنِّي عَيْنُ حِراسَتِهِ، فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتَ ضَعْفِي عَنِ اِحْتِمالِ الْفَوادِحِ، وَعَجْزِي ذلِكَ عَنْ مُلِمَّاتِ الحَوائِجِ صَرَفْتَ عَنِّي ذلِكَ، بِحَوْلِكَ وَقُوَّتِكَ لا بِحَوْلِي قُوَّتِي، فَأَلْقَيْتَهُ فِي الحَفِيرِ الَّذِي احْتَفَرَهُ لي، خائِباً مِمَّا أَمَّلَهُ فِي دُنْياهُ، مُتَباعِداً مِمَّا رَجاهُ آخِرَتِهِ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلى‏ ذلِكَ قَدْرَ اسْتِحْقاقِكَ، سَيِّدي اَللَّهُمَّ فَخُذْهُ بِعِزَّتِكَ، وَافْلُلْ حَدَّهُ عَنِّي بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَاجْعَلْ لَهُ شُغْلاً فِيما يَليِه، وَعَجْزاً عَمَّنْ يُناوِيهِ، اَللّْهُمَّ وَأَعْدِني عَلَيْهِ مِنْ عُدْوى‏ حاضِرةً تَكُونُ مِنْ غَيْظِي شِفاءً، وَمِنْ حَنَقِي عَلَيْهِ وِقاءً، وَصَلِّ اَللَّهُمَّ دَعائي بِالْإِجابَةِ وَانْظِمْ شِكايَتِي بِالتَّغْيِيرِ، وَعَرَّفَهُ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ ما وَعَدْتَ الظَّالِمِين وَعَرَّفَنِي ما وَعَدْتَفِي إِجابَة المُضْطَرِّينَ، إِنَّكَ ذُو الفَضْلِ العَظِيمِ وَالمَنِّ الكَرِيم».قالَ: ثُمَّ تَفَرَّقَ القَوْمَ فَما اجْتَمَعُوا إِلاّ لِقِراءَةِ الْكِتابِ الوارِدِ عَلَيْهِ بِمَوْتِ مُوسَى بْنِ المَهْدِيِّ، فَفِي ذلِكَ يَقُولُ بَعْضُ مَنْ حَضَرَ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍعَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ:مَحَلاًّ وَلَمْ يَقْطَعُ بِها البُعْدُ قاطِعُ‏وَسارِيَةٍ لَمْ تَسْرِ فِي الأَرْضِ تَبْتَغيلِوِرْدٍ وَلَمْ يَقْصُرْ لَها البُعْدُ مانِعُ‏سَرَتْ حَيْثُ لَمْ تُحْدَ الرِّكابُ وَلَمْ تُنِخَ‏بِجُثْمانِهِ فِيهِ سَمِيرٌ وَهاجِعٌ‏تَمُرُّ وَراءَ اللَّيْلِ، وَاللَّيْلُ ضارِبٌ‏إِذا قَرَعَ الأَبْوابَ مِنْهُنَّ قارِعٌ‏تَفَتَّحُ أَبْوابُ السَّماءِ وَدُونَهاعَلَى أَهْلِها وَاللَّهُ راءٍ وَسامِعُ‏إِذا وَرَدَتْ لَمْ يَرْدُدَ اللَّهُ وَفْدَهاأَرى‏ بِجَمِيلِ الظَّنِّ ما اللَّه صانِعُ‏وَإِنّي لأَرْجُو اللَّهَ حَتّى‏ كَأَنَّما
