The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: On the Day of Judgment, I will intercede for those who have come to my Ziyārah.

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: On the Day of Judgment, I will intercede for those who have come to my Ziyārah.

21. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says that a believer can surely intercede for his friend except a nasibi because even if all the prophets, messengers and honored angels intercede for a nasibi, their intercession will not be accepted.

God’s Prophet (s) said, “There are four groups on whose behalf I will intercede on the Resurrection Day: those who honor the members of my Household after me; those who fulfill their needs; those who try to assist my Family in times of need; and those who love them both wholeheartedly and verbally.”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who want to be honoured by Allāh and to be included in the intercession of Muḥammad (s.a.a.w.) on the Day of Judgment should go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.). (By doing so) Allāh will honour them with the best of honours and rewards and He will not question them for any sins they have committed during their life, even if they are as great (in number) as the grains of sand, the scum in the seas, or the mountains of Tihāmah. Verily Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) was wronged and killed unjustly while he, his family, and his companions were thirsty.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: My intercession anon will not be given to one who delays his obligatory prayers after their timing.

I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: On the Day of Judgment, a Zā`ir of Ḥusain (a.s.) will be able to intercede for one hundred people who were immoderate (against their souls) in this life and upon whom Hell is obligatory.

“Even if all angels created by Almighty Allah, all prophets, truthful ones and martyrs try to intercede for an enemy of Ahle Bayt (a.s.) so that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime takes him out of Hell, Allah will never take him out of Hell. And Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, says in the Holy Quran, “Staying in it (Hell) for ever.”22

“Do not insult the poor Shiites of Ali, since any one of them can intercede in the Hereafter on behalf of as many people as the tribes of Rabieh and Mezr can.”

I visited Umm Hamida to console her over [the death of] Aba `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as). She wept, and I wept due to her weeping. Then, she said: O Aba Muhammad! If you had seen Aba `Abdillah (as) at his death, you would have observed something astonishing. He opened his eyes and said: “Gather all of my relatives.” She said: We did not leave anyone except that they were gathered. She said: Then he looked at them and said: “Surely, our intercession does not reach one who takes prayers lightly.”

“One who considers Salaat unimportant will not receive our intercession.”

Gabriel descended upon the Messenger of Allah (sw) and said: ‘O Muhammad, indeed Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has accepted your intercession on behalf of five: the one who carried you in her womb, Āmina bint Wahb ibn ‘Abd Manāf; the one through whom you came from his loins, ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abd al-Muṭṭalib; the one who cared for you, ‘Abd al-Muṭṭalib ibn Hāshim; the one who sheltered you in his house, ‘Abū Ṭālib, ‘Abd Manāf ibn ‘Abd al-Muṭṭalib; and a brother who was with you during the pre-Islamic period.’ He was asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, who was this brother?’ He replied, ‘He was my companion, and I was his, generous and charitable in feeding others.’ The compiler of this book (ra) said: ‘The name of this brother was al-Julās ibn ‘Alqamah.’”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) asked the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.), “O father! What is the reward for those who come to your Ziyārah?” He (the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.)) replied, “O my son! On the Day of Judgment, it will be my duty to go to the Ziyārah of those who have come to my Ziyārah, during my life or after my death, and to save them from their sins.” The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father, from Ḥusain ibn Ḥasan ibn Abān, from Ḥusain ibn Sa’īd, from ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Isā, from Mu’allā ibn Abī Shihāb, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

I was with Abi `Abdillah Ja`far b. Muhammad al-Sadiq (as) when a man entered from the people of Tus. So, he said to him: O son of the Messenger of Allah! What is [the reward] of one who visits the grave of Abi `Abdillah al-Husayn b. `Ali (as)? So, he said to him: O Tusi! Whoever visits the grave of Abi `Abdillah al-Husayn b. `Ali (as) whilst knowing that he is an Imam from Allah whose obedience is obligatory for the worshipers, Allah will forgive his past and future sins. His intercession will be accepted for seventy sinners. He will not ask Allah for a need at his grave except that He will fulfill it for him. He said: Musa b. Ja`far (as) entered, so he sat him down on his lap, kissed his forehead, and then turned to him (the man from Tus) and said to him: O Tusi! Surely, he is the Imam, the Caliph, and the Proof after me. From his loins will come a man with whom Allah is pleased (rida) in His heavens and the worshipers are [pleased with him] on His Earth. He will be killed by poison, in oppression and enmity, in your land. He will be buried there as a stranger. Surely, he who visits him in his solitude, knowing that he is an Imam after his father, and that his obedience is obligated by Allah, shall be like one who visits the Messenger of Allah (s).

“Accept apologies, whether or not they are right. I will not intercede on behalf of anyone who does not accept an apology.”

I have been granted five things which had not been granted to anyone before me: all the Earth has been established as a mosque and all its dirt has been declared to be pure. I have been assisted by being awesome. War booties have become lawful for me. I have been given the most complete sayings. I have also been granted the right to intercede.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Whoever comes to visit me, I will intercede on his behalf on the Day of Judgment.’”

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: On the Day of Judgment, I will intercede for those who have come to my Ziyārah.

a man complained to Imam Sadiq (a.s) about his hard life. The Imam asked: “How is it my fault? You have chosen it yourself.” The man asked: “When did I choose it?” Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “ God offered you this world and the Hereafter. You preferred the Hereafter. In this world the believers are guests of the pagans. In this world you eat, drink, wear clothes and get married. But in the Hereafter, they will not eat, drink, wear clothes or get married. They will ask you to intercede on their behalf in the Hereafter, and you will not intercede for them. God the Almighty said that they would ask you: “Pour down to us water or anything that God doth provide for your sustenance” but they will be told that: “Both these things hath God forbidden to those who rejected Him.” [The Holy Quran: Araf 7:50]
