Those who distribute water (to people) on the Day of ‘Āshūrā next to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) are like those who were with Ḥusain (a.s.) and distributed water to those in his camp.

I heard Aba Abdillah عليه السلام say: may Allah curse Burayd! and may Allah curse Zurara!

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) once wrote a letter to me in which he had said, ‘Keep in mind not to ever speak a tyrannical and transgressing word even though your own soul and tribe are more captivating to you.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once said to me, ‘O abu Sayyar the condition of one in the state of Ihram is restricted. If one kisses his wife without lust while in the state of Ihram, he owes one sheep; if one does so with lust and discharges semen, he owes a Jazur (slaughtering a camel) and must ask his Lord for forgiveness. If one touches his wife with his hand while he is in the state of Ihram with lust, he owes one sheep. If one looks at his wife with lust and ejaculates semen, he owes one Jazur. However, if one touches his wife or holds without lust there is not anything on him.’”

Imam Sādiq (a.s.) said: Anyone who sells the clay of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) has sold and bought the flesh of Ḥusain (a.s.).

11 – Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. Sayyār, known by the kunya Abū ʿAbdillāh. al-Qummī. Known as al-Sayyāri. Weak. Careless. Ghālī. Deviated. The Shaykhs of Qum excluded his narrations in the book “Nawādir al-Ḥikma”. In the book which was compiled, “al-Nawādir”, ʿAlī b. Muḥammad b. Maḥbūb spoke about him and said that he was a proponent of reincarnation.

"The three (other witnesses) are to be flogged, and her husband is to perform lian (mutual cursing) with her. They are to be separated, and she will never be permissible for him again."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, “The Messenger of Allah has prohibited speaking jargon language in Masjid (expressions understood by two people or a group only).’”

I was with Abul Hasan Askari [Imam Hadi (a.s)] in his house, when Abu Ja’far passed from there. I asked: Is he our master? He replied: No, your master is Hasan.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once said to me, ‘O abu Sayyar, when the female servant prepares food, ask her to measure; blessings come with measurement.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘When one of you decides to go to bed with his wife he must not place her in a big rush.’”

Whoever gives charity when he awakes, Allah removes the bad omen of that day from him.

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the time for Salah (prayer) of al-Dhuhr on Friday on a journey. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is at Zawal (declining of the sun toward the west at noontime) which is its time on Friday when one is not on a journey.’”

“Once, a man said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘People before us narrate that Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, dislikes the house of meat.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘They have spoken the truth, but not as they think it is. It is in the sense that Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, dislikes the house in which people eat other peoples’ meat (backbite them).”’

“Allah knew that sin is better for believing people than feeling self-important. Were it not as such, a believer would never sin.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Whoever loves to follow my nature (culture), he must follow my Sunnah; and of my Sunnah is marriage.’”

“Before the appearance of al-Qa’im, the war of (tribe of) Qays will break out.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that of the matters for which the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, took pledges from the women was that they must not sit in Ihtibah position and must not sit with men privately.” ( Ihtibah is sitting with knees and thighs raised against one’s belly when sitting on one’s hips, using one’s arms or a piece of cloth as a ring around the knees and waist)

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who dies and leaves behind brothers and sisters from his mother and a grandfather. He (the Imam) said, ‘The grandfather is like a brother from the father. He receives two-thirds and brothers and sisters from one’s mother receive one-third who distribute it among themselves in equal shares.’”

“I saw Masma‘ in Madina. In that year he had tried to deliver a certain amount of property to abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) that he returned to him. I asked him about the reason for the return.. The narrator has said that he said to me, “When I took the property to him I said, ‘ I had become the in charge of the pearls in Bahrayn and I have made four hundred thousand Dirham profit. I have brought eighty thousand Dinar as your share. I did not like to keep your share and disregard what Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, has decreed to be for you in our properties.” Is there no more from earth and what Allah takes out of it besides one fifth for us, O abu Sayyar?” The whole earth belongs to us. Whatever Allah causes to come out therefrom it belongs to us.” I then said, “I will bring all the property to you.” He said, “O abu Sayyar, we have made it a gift for you and made it lawful for you. Take your property with you. Whatever land is in the hands of our Shi‘a it is lawful for them until Al-Qa’im will rise with Divine Authority. He will make an agreement with them about whatever land is in their hands and will give them permission to use. Whatever land is in the hands of others their earning from it is not lawful until Al-Qa’im will rise with Divine Authority. He will take such lands away from them and will remove them humiliate ‘Umar ibn Yazid has said, “Abu Sayyar said to me, ‘ I do not find anyone doing business oor those in charge of certain tasks who would earn their living lawfully except my self and those for whom they have made it lawful.”
