"When a boy reaches the age of majority at thirteen years and begins his fourteenth year, what is mandatory for those who have had wet dreams is mandatory for him, whether or not he has had a wet dream. From this point, his sins are recorded against him; his good deeds are recorded for him; and all of his wealth becomes permissible to him, unless he is disabled or mentally incompetent."

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘The prayer of three kinds of people is not accepted: a man to whom Allah has granted wealth but spends it improperly and then says, “O Lord, grant me wealth,” to him it is said, ‘Did I not give you wealth?’ A man who prays against his unjust wife, and it is said to him, ‘Have I not left her affairs to you (dissolving of marriage lawful)?’ A man who sits idle and prayers, ‘O Lord, grant me sustenance,’ and to him it is said, ‘Have I not made ways how to make a living?”’

“There are two kinds of believing people: one kind is true to the covenant with Allah and has kept the stipulation as Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, ‘Among the believers there are people who are true in their promise to Allah. . . .’ (33:23) This kind of believing people do not become subject to any fear, worldly or in the hereafter. They are those who intercede for others but need no intercession. There are the kinds of believing people who are like a sprouting plant that grows straight sometimes and not so straight under certain conditions. This kind of believing people may become subject to fear in this world as well as in the next life. They need intercession but cannot intercede for anyone.”

“Allah, the Most Exalted of praise, will apologize to His believing servants who are poor in this world just as a brother apologizes to a brother and He will say, ‘I swear by my Majesty and Glory that I did not make you poor in the world considering you insignificant. Remove this curtain and look what I have given you in exchange for your poverty in the world. ’ The Imam said, ‘He will then raise the curtain and say, ‘(O Lord,) your withholding the wealth of the world from me in exchange for what You have kept in reserve for me has not harmed me at all.”’

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a woman who gives herself as a gift to a man for marriage. He (the Imam) said, ‘This was only for the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, but for others it is not proper without something in exchange before going to bed with her; a small or large amount even a cloth or dirham.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Dirham is enough.’”

Praise be to the One! There is no god but He. He is the Eternal, and the Originator without beginning. He is the Eternal, who does not tire. He is the Living, who does not die. He is the Creator of the seen and the unseen. He is the Knower of Everything without being taught. Such is Allah who has no associate.

“O people, interconnect and be pious and kind to each other! By Him, Who has split the seed and created man, that a time will come to you that none of you will find a place for his dinar and dirham.” Al-Kahili asked him: “And when will that be?” He said: “When you miss your imam and you remain so for a time until he appears to you like the sun while you are so desperate. Beware to doubt and suspect. Drive doubts away from yourselves. I have warned you, so be careful! I pray Allah to guide you and to make you succeed.”

God’s Prophet (MGB) entrusted Ali (MGB) with a thousand doors each of which opened up to one-thousand words and doors.”

God’s Prophet (MGB) advised Ali (MGB) about one-thousand gates. Each gate opens up to one-thousand gates.”

2. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says, “One who offers Salaat after saying Azaan and Iqamah two rows of angels pray behind him. If a person offers Salaat after saying Iqamah only, one row of angels prays behind him.” The narrator asked, “How wide is that row?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “The shortest is from east to west and the longest from earth to heaven.”

“I once visited abu Ja’far (a.s.), and I was wearing al-Khuff (half-boot) which was Maqshurah. He (the Imam) said, ‘O, Ziyad, what is this which I see you wearing?’ I replied, ‘It is al- Khuff (half-boot) that I have found.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Did you know that the white one of al-Khuff (half-boot) that is, al-Maqshurah is of the footgear of the tyrants and they were the ones who made it? The red ones are of the footgear of Kisra’s (Persian kings) and they were the first ones who made it. The black ones are of the footgear of banu Hashim and of the noble tradition.’”

“If a believer refuses to give a needy believer something that he from his own or from another person can provide, due to such refusal on the Day of Judgment, Allah will raise him (refusing to help) with his face blackened, his eyes turned blue, his hands chained to his neck and it will be said, ‘Violator of trust who breached his trust with Allah and the Messenger of Allah,’ and then he is ordered into the fire.’”

Musa b. `Imran was speaking to his Lord when he saw a man in the shade beneath the Throne of Allah. So, he said: O Lord! Who is this that is shaded by Your Throne? So, He said: He was good to his parents, and he would not spread gossip.

There are five things without which one will not find much satisfaction. It was said: What are they, O son of the Messenger of Allah? He said: (1) religion, (2) intellect, (3) modesty, (4) beautiful character, and (5) beautiful manners. There are also five things without which one will not find livelihood: (1) health, (2) security, (3) needlessness, (4) contentment, and (5) amiable correspondence.

“O disciples, I have a need that I request you to fulfill." They said, “Your request is granted, Oh Spirit of God.” Jesus then got up and washed their feet, the disciples then said, “It was upon us to serve you, Oh Spirit of God.” So he said, “Of the people who must serve others are the scholars, I acted in this humble way so that you will act among your people in a humble way as I acted before you.” Jesus then said, “With humbleness wisdom is formed, but not with arrogance. Just like how plants only grow on plains grounds, but not on mountains.”

Abu `Imran al-`Ijli said: Muhammad ibn Sinan said: Abu al-`Ala al-Khaffaf said: `Atiyyah al-`Awfi said, on the authority of Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, he said that The Messenger of Allah (sw) said: “Neither I nor anyone before me has said anything (with such worth) like: `There is no god but Allah’ [La ilaha illa Allah].”

I heard Abu Abdillah saying near the grave of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny: "I beseech (Allah) Who selected and chose you, purified and guided you and through you guided the people: to bless you; Surely, Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet, O you who believe, you should invoke blessings on him and peace on him."

The Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said: "O those who have submitted with their tongues, but their faith has not reached their hearts, do not pry on the faults of the believers and do not revile the Muslims. Surely, he who goes in search for the faults of the believers, Allah will pry on his faults; and when Allah does that, He exposes him in the inner most part of his house."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) said, ‘O Mufaddal, protect yourself from all people with this: ‘(I begin) in the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful’, and with Chapter 112 by reading toward each directions: right, left, front, back, above and below. When you enter in the presence of a tyranical ruler read it three times when looking at him, count it with your left hand and continue reading until you leave his presence.’”

“A night is twelve hours, a day is twelve hours, a year is twelve months, the imams are twelve and the disciples are twelve. Imam Ali (as) is an hour of the twelve hours as Allah has said, “But they reject the hour, and We have prepared a burning fire for him who rejects the hour.”
