Hadith 455

Al-Husayn b. Ahmad b. Idris (rh) narrated to us. He said: My father (rh) narrated to us from Ibrahim b. Hashim from Isma`il b. Marrar from Yunus b. `Abd al-Rahman from `Abdullah b. Sinan from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as). He said
There are five things without which one will not find much satisfaction. It was said: What are they, O son of the Messenger of Allah? He said: (1) religion, (2) intellect, (3) modesty, (4) beautiful character, and (5) beautiful manners. There are also five things without which one will not find livelihood: (1) health, (2) security, (3) needlessness, (4) contentment, and (5) amiable correspondence.
15 - حدثنا الحسين بن أحمد بن إدريس (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن إسماعيل بن مرار، عن يونس بن عبد الرحمن، عن عبد الله بن سنان، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليه السلام)، قال
خمس من لم تكن فيه لم يكن فيه كثير مستمتع. قيل: وما هن، يا بن رسول الله؟ قال: الدين، والعقل، والحياء، وحسن الخلق، وحسن الادب. وخمس من لم تكن فيه لم يتهن بالعيش: الصحة، والامن، والغنى، والقناعة، والانيس الموافق (2).
