“Once a man came to the Holy Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I am a person with a family, indebted and my condition has turned into difficulty. Instinct me with a supplication with which I can pray to Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, so He will grant me sustenance to pay my debts and help my family.’ The Messenger of Allah said, ‘O servant of Allah, complete a Wuzu properly, then make a two Rak’at prayer performing complete Ruku ’ and prostration then say, “O the Exalted one, O the only One, O Munificent (eternal), I have turned to You through Muhammad your Prophet, the Prophet of blessings. O Muhammad, O Messenger of Allah, I ask through you from Allah, your Lord and my Lord and the Lord of all things, to grant al-Salat (favors) upon Muhammad and his family, and beg You for a noble relief from Your relief, an easy felicity, a vast sustenance, to place together my chaotic conditions, pay my debts and help my family.

“Two people went to a Mosque. One was a worshipper and the other a sinful one. They left the Mosque. The sinner was a true believer, but the worshipper had become a sinner. It so happened, because the worshipper went to the Mosque boastful of his worshipping, thus, his thoughts were all the time on boastfulness. The sinner was regretful for his sins and was asking forgiveness from Allah.”

‘Ali, (the Commander of the Believers (a.s.)), said: May I sacrifice my father and mother for Ḥusain who will be killed on the outskirts of Kūfah. I swear to Allāh that it is as if I can see the different kinds of wild animals stretching their necks to his grave, crying and weeping over him throughout the night until dawn. When this happens, beware of neglecting him (his grave).

‘Ali, (the Commander of the Believers (a.s.)), said: May I sacrifice my father and mother for Ḥusain who will be killed on the outskirts of Kūfah. I swear to Allāh that it is as if I can see the different kinds of wild animals stretching their necks to his grave, crying and weeping over him throughout the night until dawn. When this happens, beware of neglecting him (his grave).

“The Imam said to me, ‘Should I instinct you with a supplication so you can pray? We are a family that whenever something causes us pain or fear a ruler for something we cannot cope with, we pray to Allah with this supplication.’ I said, ‘Yes, may Allah keep my soul and the souls of my parents in service for your cause, O descendent of the Messenger of Allah.’ The Imam told me to say, ‘O the One who existed before everything, O the Giver of being to everything, O the Eternal Being after everything, grant al-Salat (favors) upon Muhammad and his family, and confer upon me such and such of my wishes and needs.’”

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said that a man came to the Holy Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I am a man with (a large) family, indebted; and my condition has become difficult. Please teach me a prayer through which Allah will provide me enough to pay my debts and help my family.’ The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Take Wudu’ properly, then perform two Rak‘at Salah (prayer) with complete Ruku‘ and sajdah in both Rak‘at. Thereafter say, “O owner of glory, O the only One, O gracious, I turn to You through Muhammad, Your prophet, the prophet of mercy. O Muhammad, O Messenger of Allah, I have turned through you to Allah, your Lord and the Lord of all things. Allahumma Salli ‘Ala Muhammad wa ‘Ali Muhammad (O Allah grant Muhammad and his family a compensation worthy of their serving Your cause). I appeal to You for relief from that with which You grant relief, an easy success and vast sustenance with which I can overcome my difficulties, pay my debts and help my family.’””

“Once, we visited abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), and he asked us, ‘Does anyone of you have anything of the knowledge of my uncle, Zayd ibn Ali?’ A man from the group said, ‘I have something of the knowledge of your uncle. Once, we were in the presence of Imam one night in the house of Mu‘awiyah ibn Ishaq al-Ansariy when he said, “Allow us to visit al-Sahlah Masjid to perform Salah (prayer).’” Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), then asked, ‘Did he do so?’ He (the man) replied, ‘Something came up that prevented him from visiting al-Sahlah Masjid.’ The Imam then said, ‘By Allah, had he sought refuge with Allah therein for a year he would have given him such refuge. You should take notice that it is the house of prophet Idris. Therein he did his sewing works. From this place Ibrahim started his journey to Yemen, where al-‘Amaliqah people has settled down. Dawud began his move against Jalut (Goliath) from this place. In it, there is the green stone on which every prophet’s picture exists. From under this stone the clay of every prophet was taken and it is the place where the rider disembarks for rest.’ It was asked, ‘Who is the rider?’ The Imam replied, ‘He is al- Khadir.’”
