عامر بن عبد الله بن جداعة الازدي

Hadith.2633 - Amir ibn Jutha'ah asked Imam (as) about dyed garments worn by a woman in Ihram. Imam (as) said: "There is no harm in it, except for prominently dyed garments (al-mufdam al-mashhoor)."

Hadith.4736 - In the narration of ʿAmir ibn ʿAbdullah, he said: I heard Abu Abdullah (as) say: "There was a palm branch (ʿadhq) over the grave of Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), that shaded it from the sun wherever it moved. When the branch dried up, the trace of the grave disappeared, and its exact location became unknown."

Everything in this book that is narrated from Amir ibn Jadhaah has been transmitted by me from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan Al-Saffar, from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-Khaṭṭab, from Al-Hakam ibn Miskin, from Amir ibn Jadhaah Al-Azdi. He is Amir ibn Abdullah ibn Jadhaah, an Arab from Kufa.

“Whoever recites verse 110 of Chapter 18 he will wake up at the hour he wants to wake up.”

“Whoever reads the last verse of al-Kahf (Chapter 18) can wake up at night at the hour that he intends to wake up.”

The man (Imam Hādi (a.s.)) said: Recite (the following) next to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.): Salām to you, O Abā ‘Abdillāh. Salām to you, O Allāh’s Decisive Proof in His land and His witness over His creation. Salām to you, O son of the Messenger of Allāh. Salām to you, O son of ‘Ali, the one with whom Allāh is pleased. Salām to you, O son of Fāťimah Al-Zahrā. I testify that you established prayers, gave charity, enjoined good, forbade evil, and fought in the way of Allāh until that which is certain (death) came to you. May Allāh’s blessing be upon you in your life and after your death. Then place your right cheek on the grave and recite (the following): I testify that you had insight with your Lord. I have come to you admitting to my sins. Therefore, intercede for me with your Lord, O son of the Messenger of Allāh. Then mention the Imams (a.s.) one after another (by their names) and say, “I testify that they are Allāh’s Decisive Proofs.” Then recite (the following): Be my witness with your Lord and register a contract for me (which states) that I came to you to renew the covenant. Verily you are the witness. Ḥukaym ibn Dāwūd ibn Ḥukaym narrated to me from Salamah ibn Khaťťāb, from Ḥusain ibn Zakariyyā, from Sulaymān ibn Ḥafs Al-Marwazi, who said: The Blessed (Imam Hādi (a.s.)) said: Recite (the following) next to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.): Salām to you, O Abā ‘Abdillāh. Salām to you, O Allāh’s Decisive Proof in His land and His witness over His creation. Salām to you, O son of the Messenger of Allāh. Salām to you, O son of ‘Ali, the one with whom Allāh is pleased. Salām to you, O son of Fāťimah Al-Zahrā. "There is no servant who recites the end of Surah al-Kahf before sleeping except that they will wake up at the hour they desire."

on the authority of Hammad ibn `Uthman, on the authority of `Amir ibn `Abd Allah that Abu `Abd Allah al-Sadiq (AS) said, On the grave of Ibrahim, son of the Messenger of Allah (SA), there was a branch that shaded it from sunlight. By the time the branch dried up, the marks of the grave had vanished and its place was not know. He (AS) also added, When Ibrahim, son of the Messenger of Allah (SA) died, he was eighteen months old. Therefore, Allah, the Mighty and High, had his suckling period completed in Paradise. The Compiler of this book says concerning children and their state: Verily, the process of recognizing justice and injustice, and the way of differentiation between the two or aversion from them, is not something innate. In fact, it is due to the approval or disapproval of the intellect. Therefore, it is not permissible for us to refuse the evil of an action due to our ignorance of its causes. Nor should we take it out from the boundary of justice based on its apparent from. Rather the method, when we intend to understand the reality of a category of actions that is hidden to us, should be the rational one. We should turn to proofs that indicate the wisdom of their doers, and we should be devoted to proofs that introduce us to the state of its doer. If He acts wisely and justly, then it must necessarily apply to all of His actions, whether or not we are ignorant of their causes. This is because, as far as the intellect is concerned, there is no shortcoming in one category of actions without the other, or specification for one genus without the other. Take the case of a father, for example, who we know to be just. If he amputates a limb from his son for a reason that we are ignorant of, we cannot declare that he is unjust since we are unaware of the reason for which he did so. As a whole, this is due to his fair appearance and good intent for his son. The actions of Allah, the All-Knowing of the ends and beginnings, are similar, Blessed and Exalted be Hi. Reason requires us to believe that His Actions must be wise and just. We cannot limit ourselves to what we know because we are ignorant of all the details which motivate His Actions. We understand that we are unable to understand the causes of all things, since we do not understand them in full. This is when we intend to understand a sentence that enables its ignorance from the rules of His Actions, the Mighty and High. However, if we intend to explore its meanings and discuss its causes then we are not short of intellects, with the praise of Allah, that may make us recognize the rational reasoning in their details, what confirms the indication on a whole. The proof that the actions of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, are based on wisdom is that they are far form contradiction and secure from differentiation. The proof can also be found in their interconnectedness, the need of things to their likes, and the damaging of its shape and connecting of every category to its resemblance until it is imagined that it is other than what is seems. The rotation of the heavens and the movement of the sun and the moon, and the travel of the stars would certainly obliterate and be destroyed. Thus, when the actions of Allah, the Mighty and High, execute what we have mentioned regarding the reasons for justice and injustice, we can only conclude that they are based on wisdom. The proof the Mighty and High does not oppress can be found in the fact hat He, Blessed and Exalted, is Eternal, Self-Sufficient, and All-Knowing. Furthermore, He cannot act ignorantly. Oppression only occurs among the ignorant or those who seek personal benefit. Since He, the Blessed and Exalted, is Eternal and Self-Sufficient, He does not benefit or lose anything fro knowing what was, and what will be good and evil. Everything He does is out of wisdom, and everything He does is Right. Do you to see that those who are wise do not commit evil, as he has sufficient self-control to refrain from evil. Whoever commits a major sin deserves criticism. Therefore, the existence of evil is not feared from Him and this is clear. All praise is due to Allah.

I said to Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “I paid two or three extra gold coins to my cameleer to take me through Madīnah.” Imam (a.s.) replied, “You did well! How easy this was for you! And now you can come to the grave of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) and say SALĀM to him.” Then Imam (a.s.) continued, “Verily the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) hears your voice (if you perform his Ziyārah) from nearby and he will be informed of you (if you perform his Ziyārah) from far.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about dyed cloths used by women in the state of Ihram. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful except ornaments visible on her front side as well as visible necklace.’”

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘On the gravesite of Ibrahim, son of the Messenger of Allah, there was a palm tree that provided shadow and it would turn as the sun moved to provide shadow for the site but when it dried up, the gravesite became old and indistinguishable.’”

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘When a soul reaches the throat, an angel comes and says to him, “O you, - or so and so - what you had hoped for, be certain, is of no avail to you, meaning returning to the worldly life, but you have become safe from whatever you were afraid of.’””

“Once a man came in the presence of abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, and appealed, ‘O abu ‘Abd Allah, grant me a loan until I am able to pay back.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, asked, ‘Do you want to borrow until the time you harvest your plantation?’ The man answered, ‘No, by Allah, (I do not have any plantation).’ The Imam then asked, ‘Do you want until you make a business gain?’ He replied ‘No, by Allah, (I do not have any business).’ The Imam then asked, ‘Do you want to borrow until you receive profit from a contract you have made?’ He replied, ‘No, by Allah, (I do not have any such contract)’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), then said, ‘You then are of those for whom Allah has set a share in our properties.’ He then asked to bring for him a bag with dirhams in it. He then picked up a handful of money there-from and gave it to him saying, ‘Observe piety before Allah. Do not spend it extravagantly or miserly but spend it in a balanced manner. Spending in a wasteful manner is extravagance and Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, forbids it, “Do not squander your belongings wastefully. . . (17:27)’” Al-Hassan ibn Mahbub has narrated from Sa‘dan ibn Muslim from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), a similar Hadith.”

“I (the narrator) once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who had set a price on a certain item of his merchandise. Thereafter whoever purchased that merchandise without asking for any discount, he sold it to them for the same price; but those who asked for a discount he instead increased the price. He (the Imam) said, ‘There is no offense in such increases for two or three men, but if he does so with everyone who asks for a discount then I do not like his selling but for one and the same price.’”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Recite (the following) when you go to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.): Salām to you, O son of the Messenger of Allāh. Salām to you, O son of the Commander of the Believers. Salām to you, O Abā ‘Abdillāh. Salām to you, O Master of the Youth of Paradise and (may) Allāh’s Mercy and Blessings be upon you. Salām to you, O one whose pleasure is derived from the pleasure of Al-Raḥmān (the most Gracious) and whose displeasure is derived from the displeasure of Al-Raḥmān. Salām to you, O Allāh’s Trustee, His Decisive Proof, the door (which opens) to Allāh, the guide to Allāh, and the caller to Allāh. I testify that you deemed lawful that which Allāh has declared lawful and you deemed unlawful that which Allāh has declared unlawful. You established prayers, gave charity, enjoined good, forbade evil, and called (the people) to the path of your Lord with wisdom and by giving good counsel. And I testify that you and those who were killed with you are Martyrs who “are alive with [your] Lord getting sustenance from Him” (3:169). And I testify that your killers are in Hell. I follow the religion of Allāh by dissociating myself from those who fought you, those who killed you, those who accompanied them, those who gathered (an army) against you, and from those who heard your voice (calling for help) but did not answer your call. I wish I had been with you so that I would have achieved the great victory.
